You're not pathetic. I'm the same way. I have an exercise bike I've had since Christmas and every time I get on it I can manage only 5 minutes at most.. then I get discouraged and don't get on it again. That's my failing. I have to start thinking five minutes today, six tomorrow, etc. I know I can build it up if I don't…

I know how you feel, I am fighting both of these battles right now. I quit smoking using Nicorette gum, but the gum is too expensive for me now, and since I'm fighting the overeating I'm smoking again. I can't fight both battles so right now I'm concentrating on the lifestyle change of changing my eating habits and…

Being able to do, buy, go, anything anywhere I want without having to listen to criticism or complaints. Having an uncomplicated life with little stress. Making my own decisions and having to stand by them. It does get a little lonely sometimes but I have cats for that.

Don't think about your food too much.

I don't have a 'cheat' day in terms of what I eat, because I eat what I want worked into my allotted calories for the day. But one day a week I will allow myself to go over in calories by 200 maximum. That still only puts me at 1400 calories so I'm still in a deficit.

I refuse to give up my coffee or my cream and sugar with it so I fit it into my calories for the day. In the winter I like to have an occasional cup of hot tea with sugar; again, I just fit it in.

Since most of my co-workers at my main job dislike or fear me, I don't think they'll have the guts to say anything when I really start dropping weight. My other job, where I am liked and not really feared, I may hear a thing or two though... and I'll just smile nicely and tell them to mind their own business.

I have a closet full of size small and medium LOFT tops at home I've never been able to wear, as well as several pair of jeans. I've promised myself that when I'm close to my goal I'll get a spiral perm. Sometimes watching movies or TV shows with prettier women in them helps too, such as Nicole Kidman or even the third…

Just how often do you need to be throwing up for them to consider it 'bad?" That's ridiculous. I would report them.

It's a comfort thing. Food makes us feel comfortable and safe.
-
No, I was born that way.

You have the same bad attitude I do... I look in the mirror and I think ugh, no one would want to be with me, I certainly wouldn't. And getting to my goal weight isn't going to help me because that attitude isn't coming from hating my weight... it's from hating myself. While I am still determined to lose the weight, I'm…

Serious binge eater here too. I'd go buy a whole bag of Lays chips and a box of snickers ice cream bars and eat both in one day.. I'd go to McDonald's for breakfast and order 4 breakfast sandwiches... The only thing that has helped me is not buying the food and not keeping it in my house. I force myself to not buy foods I…

How difficult is Zumba DVD? Is it hard on the joints, like a lot of jumping around?

Please do add me too... my diary should be open and it's not perfect but neither am I...

I think some (not all) doctors also don't want you to lose weight and get healthy because then you won't have to see them as often..

I have a few green grapes at the end of every meal, that's "dessert". I'm careful to fit them into my allotted calories and so far I haven't been craving ice cream and candy bars the way I used to.
-
Why did they refuse to treat you?
-
I just politely tell them that my weight loss is my own business, and if I want their opinion I'll ask for it.
-
Good for you! I can barely handle a 25 lb box of cat litter DOWN the stairs to the basement. :ohwell:

Um. No. If I put a Werther's Original in my mouth just to spit it out my grandmother would rise from her grave and hit me over the head with her tombstone.
-
This is why I hate eating in public...
-
I'm the opposite. I have a harder time in the winter because I want those nice, hot casseroles loaded with sauces. In the summer I can eat more cold foods so it is easier to stay on track.

Thanks for posting your pics guys! It is SUCH a motivator to not give up! I'd post pics but one, I don't have any place in my apartment to take selfies, and two, I hate photobucket.

That's a good idea. If I have a couple of granola bars and fill up on water I shouldn't want three burgers and two hot dogs and three pieces of corn and four slices of watermelon..... No, I'm not kidding, that is how I used to eat.

That's what I want to do, just enjoy the day with family or friends and not worry about food.. but it's so easy to binge.
