It's Taco Thursday! Refried black beans with green chilies, hot salsa, green leafy lettuce, fresh tomatoes, lime juice and toasted tortillas. It's so good!

I don't mean to be confrontational, but I'm not sure I agree with this as a studying Dietetics student. Anecdotally, I'm going on my third year as a vegan and am healthier than I ever was- I'm also down 120 pounds. I sleep better, breathe better, my skin is clearer and my hair is way healthier. I don't eat much in the way…

I run a healthy eating, vegan based blog that you're free to check out: Willow & Thyme, and I have a facebook page that runs along side it: Willow & Thyme on Facebook. I post a lot of recipes. I also just got the Thug Kitchen Cookbook and Veganomicon- both of which have been hugely inspiring. Thug Kitchen also has a lot of…

Absolutely! This one is super simple, freezes well, is cost effective and super healthy! Let me know how it goes for you! Woohoo! Thai food is, to me, the best food on the planet. I love sharing recipes that people will appreciate. Please enjoy and let me know how it goes if/when you make it!

I also use Paprika. Love it!

How low calorie are you looking? I like to eat a lot of fresh fruit for breakfast. Sometimes with some coconut based yogurt. Comes in around 275 kcal. Sometimes I'll have Clif Protein bars with some coffee or tea for about 275 kcal. Or half an avocado stuffed with leftover seasoned quinoa for about 250 kcal.

Awesome! I'd love to see how it turns out! This is one of my husband's favorite foods so we make it at least once a week. That last picture is from when we moved into our new house and didn't have a table so we were using a wine box, haha. He could live without a table, but not without the tom yum. ;)

I'm working on a tom kha recipe! This one, the tom yum, was a recipe I learned in Thailand while on my honeymoon. I also lived in Thailand for a year while I was in high school. Their food is to die for! :D

I suddenly remember why I quit posting on the MFP forums, lol.

I feel like this gets a little more difficult and takes a lot more factors into consideration like genetics, broken or disfigured body parts, medical conditions that influence requirements for a variety of parts of nutrition. In this context I would say "healthy" is an average human body, that is capable of a full range of…

On the other hand, does eating foods with little to no nutrient density do your body any favors? I'm not saying that I don't have some of these foods once in a while, but I find, personally, that steering clear of what is traditionally called "junk food" I tend to feel better, sleep better, work out better. I don't have…

None of this addresses micronutrient requirements and nutrient density. A diet rich in processed/refined sugars, pre-packaged and prepared foods with large amounts of sodium, sugars and highly saturated fats and low in raw or lightly cooking vegetables, fruits, grains and lean proteins is unhealthy. Especially in the realm…

I've been using my Fitbit One for over a year-- I love that it tracks my lifetime steps, calorie burn, floors climbed and miles moved! It's an awesome way to collect data on your movement. Have fun! :)
