I agree with KellyKnepper... 500 extra calories a day if you are exclusively breastfeeding. If you are supplementing, or the baby is eating, you get an extra 250. Although, after a year, I'm still taking the extra 250 and it's working for me.

I am doing WW again for the second time. I did it back in 2010 (Momentum Plan) and lost weight. The plan changed to Points Plus and I gained some weight. I got really frustrated with it, tried to do a mix and match of Momentum and PP and ended up stalling. Then I just quit altogether. Six years, a marriage and two…

I'm still breastfeeding my 16 month old. I know how you feel. I was exactly where you are 12 months ago. Honestly, I didn't start really watching my eating until about 2 months ago. I had low milk supply issues with my first and was worried that dieting would cause low milk supply with my second. However, now that I'm…

I like GoLean with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I find that I get a lot of bang for my calorie buck with that combination. I also like this recipe: http://www.emilybites.com/2011/10/sausage-egg-cheese-hash-brown-cups.html. You get two muffins for less than 280. I find them filling, but sometimes add a side of fruit…

I am just getting back on track. My sugars were really high over the holidays and through January, mostly because I stopped tracking, but also because I needed some changes to my basal rates. I was getting that terrible tingling feeling in my lower legs and feet a lot. I'm doing better now. And I recognize how much better…

Welcome back! I've just recently come back too. One thing that I'm finding is helping me is to plan my day around fruits, veggies and lean proteins, and then add in some carbs to fill up the remaining calories. I definitely notice that I am less hungry and have less struggle on the days full of veggies and fruit.

I'm breastfeeding my son, who is now 15 months old. It's time to lose the pregnancy weight. He is decreasing his nursing. So, I feel like now is a good time to start paying attention to what I'm eating. I have about 15 pounds to lose.

It could just be an issue with the app. I can't get the recipe builder to work right now. Maybe, they are having an internal glitch.

I agree with SLLRunner, if you're squeezing in the juice, you should count it. Otherwise, I wouldn't count it. You can eat your exercise calories and still lose weight. However, be sure you're not overestimating your what you are burning. Like Blueseraphc, I go by weekly calories. So, some days I'm over, some I'm under,…

^^ This. Eating pale/primal focuses on whole foods. That is a good thing. HOWEVER, you don't have to cut out every processed food in your diet to lose weight. In fact, many people live mainly on processed foods and are very healthy. Other people don't eat any and are very healthy. Still, others eat a variety, balancing…

Hi, you can add me. I was diagnosed with Type 1 in May 1990. I began using an insulin pump in August 1996. My highest A1c since 1996 was 7.2. My best A1c was 5.0. I had a baby 11 weeks ago and am trying to get my sugars under control. Incredibly, my sugars were good during the pregnancy. My A1c was in the low 5s. But now,…

Like Rbxchas, I never got a full supply. I breastfed and supplemented since week 2 (when we found out she was losing weight and wasn't getting enough during a feeding). I started breastfeeding, bottle feeding and pumping in an attempt to increase my supply. It didn't work. After about a month and a half I gave up the…

I love this recipe! I do the same thing with chocolate cake (except I use diet coke or diet cherry coke). YUMMMY!!!!!!

I thought it was 2 teaspoons per day?? Are you sure 2 tablespoons? That's 240 calories, seems like a lot if you are only eating 1200-1400 calories a day. Congrats on the weight loss.

Just wait another week. My doctor wouldn't see me until 8 weeks anyway. Use the dollar store tests, they are pretty accurate after you are late. My only symptoms at first (other than being late) were tiredness, raw chicken made me feel queasy, and I wasn't interested in ice cream (it was summer). It wasn't until I was…

Sorry, it is that simple. I don't believe you ate 1100 calories per day for any length of time and gained weight. Yes, quality matters for health, but not for weight. Even Hashimoto and PCOS don't change that it is about eating less than you burn. Now that you are eating 1600, you are still eating less than you burn. It's…

I've been told that low blood sugar can alter/damage brain cells. I don't know how true this is. The other issue with lows, as was previously mentioned, is that you will stop feeling them until it is too late. You will go from feeling fine to passing out.

I wore it for a week before I started really using it. That helped me to see how many calories I was really burning. I don't love the food diary that goes with it, so I just deducted 500 from the average calories for the week and then set that as my goal here. When I have days where I work out and burn a lot over my…

I guess you need to work on your reading skills. Although the post you quote didn't answer her question, she did NOT ask for opinions from vegans. She asked for opinions from people who had tried a vegan diet. She seems to want advice from both people who loved and hated the vegan diet.

Then that's what I would measure from. Many women are 5-10 pounds under their pre-pregnancy weight by week 12 because of morning sickness. The doctor looks at it over the whole 9 months. But, if your doctor never had your pre-pregnancy weight, she may not know exactly what your weight gain is.
-
Your pregnancy gain is measured from the weight you were on the day you got pregnant. I assume that was sometime in June?
-
I agree. I can't stand salted caramel anything.
-
Maybe, but maybe that's a pipe dream. Just because you go to college doesn't mean you'll succeed. He had a job and a lovely family. Mary isn't to blame for his problems. No one is to blame but him. He made his own decisions. I HATE this movie.

Me too.

That's not exactly true. Even with insulin resistance, you will lose weight eating at a calorie deficit. You just have to know what a calorie deficit is. You will not gain weight at a calorie deficit.
-
It really depends on the type of activity. However, physical activity can make you run at a deficit for a long time. I often experience lows at night after a hard workout in the morning.
-
There are a lot of autoimmune diseases (whether she needs a special diet will depend on the disease). The fact taht her thyroid used to be over active and is now under active sounds like Graves disease. Getting on the right medication and the right dosage helps. However, with an under active thyroid, even with the right…

My nauseau got considerably better at 16 weeks. Just hang in there!

^^ This is the only way to lose weight. Paleo is a lifestyle. You can eat at a deficit and lose weight while eating Paleo. Or you can eat too many calories and gain while eating Paleo. Or you can eat maintenance and maintain while eating Paleo. If you like it and find it's something you can stick with, go for it. You will…
