  • I have 110 to lose and would love to share the struggle lol.
  • No, jumping rope would be the worst thing I could do. Thank you for the suggestions.
  • Thank you, great advice!
  • The bone in my knee is in the wrong place and there isn't cartilage to help with high impact. It dislocates if I turn incorrectly and grinds against itself when I bend my knees. Repeating motion of any kind in the knee area slowly wears it away. In swimming, I use primarily my upper body and core and barely move my legs,…
  • I've actually had trainers (see above) and I have a doctor. I'm just looking for your favorite exercised for upper body and possibly full body so long as there is very little knee bending. Thanks!
  • I have actually worked with 3 separate trainers and my form really is not the issue that is damaging my knees. It is hereditary and the less I bend them (repetitively) the better they are.
  • I don't actually know for sure, but I would guess that is just an easier deficit to achieve in the given time frame through calorie cutting and exercise.
  • So many great suggestions! I was successful today! I had a protein smoothie for breakfast, a soup and salad lunch, and a smoothie/sandwich for dinner. I also had some cookies during the day, so I didn't feel the need to eat them at night. BINGE AVOIDED! Drinking a lot of liquid made me feel much less sweets crazy, so maybe…
  • Thanks for the support! I will try to eat something healthy when I'm craving something unhealthy at night and see how it goes!
  • I also don't like salads or most vegetables so I feel you pain! I just had to start eating them anyway, which felt like torture at first but now just seems like a part of my routine. I find the more fruit and vegetables I eat, the less high-calorie food I crave and the easier weight comes off. You might just have to keep…

  • This worked pretty well for breakfast and lunch. At dinner time I fell off the wagon when I went out with friends. I feel like there are times you're just going to have to roll with it and know you won't be perfect for the sake of ease/fun, knowing you will then need to make up for it.
  • I leave tomorrow! Packing my cooler of food today! I'll let you know!
  • Maybe I can sneak some extra walking in. I'll be staying with a friend, so I don't want to impose too much by hauling in a cooler worth of food. How long does ice in coolers usually last in moderate weather conditions?
  • I'm from Iowa too! I was right where you are a few months ago and now I'm well on my way to being back to my high school weight, 30 lbs gone! You got this!
  • Yeah, I guess it really doesn't take that much more time to stop at a grocery store than a convenience store! I never thought of that. I will definitely take plenty of water and some coffee to help me stay awake. I'm not really into celery :(. Just a little more info. I'm driving out to visit some friends and they aren't…
  • How did you manage a protein shake on the road? Didn't it separate? Or did you just drink it the morning you made it? Great suggestions, thanks! I feel much better about this already and I'm planning out what I'll take. I love seeing what everyone else takes for ideas!
  • Great advice, thank you! I think I do have a cooler somewhere so that is totally feasible! I'll just grab some ice the morning I leave on my way out. That will definitely help during my drive and probably cut down on the time as well. Time for some planning!
  • This seems like a great time to say goodbye to this thread (thank you to the helpful posters) and move on while you 3 to 5 trolls continue whatever it is you're doing. Have fun!
  • Sorry I upset you guys. Sometimes things don't come across in email/text like they are meant or would be taken verbally. I was making a joke because I was confused, but apparently it was unexpectedly offensive. I do believe many of you know what you're talking about, I just need to understand it for myself. I also believe…
  • Thank you!
  • That must be nice.
  • I should order salads...I just hate them so much. So, so much. I'll try. No, I just take the multivitamin with iron, no supplements on top of that!
  • Thanks for the research tip Usmcp. I am just interested. That's what I'm looking for exactly, but if it is too much work don't worry about it. I'll see what I can find. I don't think it is actually unreasonable to ask people where they are getting information, MrM27. If you can't back up what you are saying, it isn't worth…
  • Thanks for the advice! I do take a multivitamin for iron, I just don't always remember to log it. I will try to eat more vegetables. Some of them are just included in things: the tuna melt had vegetables, the hummus sandwich was filled with vegetables. I just grabbed a random similar item from the database because the…
  • I did actually read the comments (all of them). No need to be rude and presumptive MRM27. I meant no one has provided any hard evidence or a detailed explanation. I should have been clearer in my question. Sorry if I offended you, usmcmp. I was looking for a scientific breakdown but I didn't see anything but broad,…
  • This was not a typical day for me. I ran my first 5K, went on a long walk, and then went to an additional weight lifting class. It was too much exercise too fast. For reasons outside my control I had lunch at 3:00pm, so at dinner I wasn't hungry. I typically drink only water unless I'm having a smoothie. Weirdly, though,…
  • So what I'm getting is that nobody truly knows, lol. I guess it is more complicated than I realized. I'll try to keep lifting and eating lots of protein!
  • I am not starving myself! I'm trying to stay around 1,500 calories a day. I tried eating around 1,600-1,800 but I wasn't losing any weight. If I need to, I can go back up and try to fit in more exercise, but diet control seems more sustainable to me than ramping up my exercise. There are really only a few hours out of the…
  • I feel like the way to cut down on sweets is to just not eat them. I'm not sure of any other method... you could try tricking your brain by having naturally sweet foods like fruit instead of desserts. I've heard that eventually your body stops craving such high levels of sugar. I would never give up chocolate, and I work…
  • No one knows?
