  • The waiting game is hard, but can be done. I know what you mean about support. Everyone who knew me just looked at me with the you got to be crazy look. What my husband brings to me then and now is way more important than what he does for a living. Not that I am not so very proud of him. If you hit the "how do I deal with…
  • Go for it now. You truly are never prepared for what can happen. Whether it is injury or death. Which benefits are you talking about? We are 100% active military. My husband was a reservist in Desert Storm and went active after that. He has been all over the place and luckily, nothing has happened. We settled on a quick…
  • I understand the whole living in the same state, but you will be spending more than the first year of marriage with him deployed and June isn't that far off. It is not easy. My husband and I got married while he was on leave from a hardship deployment and he went back to Saudi two weeks after we got married. It is hard…
  • I know you are not married yet, but what post is he stationed out of? Yeah, another mil wife. This is a great site for support, but I did the same thing while my husband was in Iraq and Kuwait. Find a person close to you for similair goals and be with them. If you haven't been involved, make sure you have the contact info…
  • God I miss MD!!! Currently have gone back to teaching/riding horses which is my first love. Once my two kids are in school full-time I want to get into personal training for pre/post natal.
  • Doing the SAHM thing too. I just recently started teaching and riding a little. Still our play money. I luck out. I have the husband that doesn't want anything. I am the one who goes, honey its time for new socks, whatever. But, when he is a little too stressed out from work and only once has he gone to the I work, how…
  • I am always the d.d. Plus it is always fun the remind your friends what they don't remember, over and over again

  • Yeah, welcome to the club. My favorite is that I had to get a new license because no one believed the old picture was me!
  • My gas savers - I am on a military post, so our "convenience store", my bank, one of the gyms I use are only 2miles (round trip) away. So, I walk or bike to all of them. I have a regular double stroller and a double bike trailer, so I either push or tow 80lbs worth of kids. I am so put off by the gas prices, that when I…
  • My fave on a day when I have a little extra calories, warm them up, cook a 1/2 cup of whole wheat pasta, steam fave veggies (I do broccoli, cauliflower and snow peas) and whip up a low cal alfredo dressing with a little spice and enjoy.
  • one more thought, if you don't think she will kill you, have her read the posts that we all have made. Either she will want to rearrange your most private parts or she may realize that there are a whole lot of people who have gone through similair situations and have overcome, survived and thrived.
  • Many years ago, I was doing heavy lifting and came close to separating the ligaments from my kneecap. My Dr had me lie on the floor, take a coffee can, rest my knee over it and basically do extensions. I still do the same thing, on the machine, just really low weights and very slow. I can feel the point of my quads burning…
  • You know your wife best. If you think that telling her PT/gym owner will result in a long term visit to the "dog house", don't. Odds are, she knows she can/will reinjure herself, has been told how to rehabilitate her injury and has made a choice. Support her, love her and I agree that there are deeper psychologicl issues…
  • You only need an extra 200-300 cal/day when you are pregnant. Unless she has a difficult pregnancy, she can exercise moderately the whole pregnancy. Just have her keep her heart rate under 140 when doing cardio.
  • If you have loose skin, not much else other than surgery will take care of it completely. Add a lot of tricep/bicep work for your arms. Very few people who lose large quantities of weight don't end up with loose skin. Otherwise, enjoy your weight loss and keep toning.
  • You may be gaining muscle weight. Also, you make think you need to lose a lot of weight, but you are well under the top range for weight. At your age, I am 5'8" and was 143lbs and looked like I weighed 120 because I was almost all muscle. Drop the scale and grab a tape measure. After three months in the gym at that age, I…
  • Distance is hard, but you can maintain the close, caring friendship. My best friend is STILL my high school girlfriend and due to distance, money, families, etc, we have only seen each other 3x's in the past 7 years, but talk, email and all of the above and we both know that we will always be there if the other needs us.…
  • Like anything else, your body will process what it needs and get rid of what it doesn't.
  • I am the same way. I had to stop. This included pre-natals, children's chewable and all of the above. Nothing ever worked. You may just be ultra sensitive. The only thing I could/can do is eat a 100 % fortified cereal.
  • Your stomach may be shrinking also, especially if you are eating smaller meals several times a day.
  • stability ball, stability ball, stability ball. Brace it against something to balance if needed. You can do biceps, triceps, back, chest, abs and legs. I do most of them with my toes on the ground, and some with my feet completely off the ground. At least it will tone while you are waiting to heal

  • I lost the majority of my baby weight walking, pushing my toddlers. I also walked about 6miles plus a day and maintained a steady 4.0mph pace and did hill work, but I did lose weight and toned up great. Mine napped at different hours, so I understand. I broke up mini workouts 5 minutes at a time, doing low weight and high…
  • Sounds like you are incredibly frustrated. Don't go on pure protein and vitamins. It may seem like the quick fix answer, but long term, you will do sooooooooo much damage to your body. Thin doesn't mean healthy nor does it mean happy. I am not the thinest person and not the heaviest, but I am healthy. I have several…
  • Is the gate keeper hired by management or a private security company? Regardless, file a complaint. Your home is your safe place and this person is violating it.
  • Words of advice, cut corners everywhere and don't cheat on the photographer. However, if they are too expensive, some will charge less and do only two hours for the formal shots and do the disposable camera thing.
  • I plan for my cheat meal!! Saturdays are it. My husband and I have date night every Saturday whether we go out or not. We normally don't go out to dinner, just spend time w/o the kids and reconnect after the week. I don't do a huge food splurge, but if we want to kick back and have a drink or a special snack, I do it guilt…
  • They do have the "calorie count" for grooming, walking, trotting and general. I am an instructor/trainer and have been riding for years. Although I like the extra calorie count, I don't use it as part of my daily exercise count. Enjoy the time with your horse and enjoy the muscle tone that can come with riding and taking…
  • Just FYI, I just had my Mirena removed after 3 years. I loved the fact that it kept me from getting pregnant again, I didn't like the fact that after 2 years, my body decided it was pregnant and started acting like it. Granted, I was pregnant for a 2 year period and got the wonderful device after my second child, but it…
