I drink a can or two of Coke Zero each day. Sugar makes my teeth hurt, along with cold, so a regular soda is a double whammy for my teeth! I have also drank diet and simply love Coke Zero.

Awesome! Thanks all!

1200 is the lowest MFP will go. How many pounds are you seeking to lose per week? Do you know your BMR? Do you understand the TDEE stuff? Read Jof's post above because it really does explain a lot and the links he posted should help with most of the rest. Anything else, please feel free to ask. Tons of knowledgeable folks…

I don't think you are a jerk either. Seems your reputation has been ruined :)

Where I live, there is nowhere to exercise outdoors and the neighborhood is just not safe and there are no gyms nearby. I bought a treadmill for $300, so nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I also do a lot of bodyweight exercises and my physical therapist helps me to adapt my workouts so I never get bored. I am…

I have noticed that one of the difficulties of healthcare is that we are always exposed to goodies. No one brings in veggie trays, but they love to bring in the desserts that they learned how to make. I am not a sweets person, so I am able to control that for the most part, but cupcakes get me every time! I am not a…

I'm a fellow nurse. I work in research now, but I am a former ER nurse.

I would kill for your BMR! For me, I am going to do the 1,200 because after 10 months of experimenting with calorie intakes, this is what I need for now (once my doctors and I got to 1,500 calories we found that this is my maintenance number, so we kept going and 1,200 - the lowest my doctor would ever go - was the magic…

I don't disagree at all, but since I am a nurse practitioner, I must encourage folks to see a doctor first :)

Talk to your doctor and get a number that is focused on you, your health and what you need. It may be 1,200 as I know nothing about you and will not judge like others will. However, it could be more, especially if you are active.

Absolutely not. I also do not advocate starting a diet or exercise program without a thorough physical and talking to one's general practitioner. I agree with you and you illustrate your points respectfully. My biggest issue is that some folks seem to think that everyone should do what they are doing. We should be working…

Double post.

This! I am on 1,200 and am medically supervised. In March 2013, my "medical team" (doctors, nutritionist and physical therapist) started at 1,800 calories and I gained quickly. We decreased by 50 calories approximately every 2 to 4 weeks and realized that I maintain on about 1,500 and that my BMR is low due to said medical…

I frequently see adds for Purina cat food. I am more likely to get results from the cat food.

I'm in. I gain pretty quickly if I eat much more than this thanks to frequent courses of steroids, so I am ready! Add me.

I've got 90 to lose to get back to my normal weight. Feel free to add me!

I'm in! I do not use Instagram because I just don't understand it lol, but I will check in on this thread regularly and post updates. Hope that is okay! Cheers to 2014!
