Crap. I didn't even think to look. Been whining about how little pasta you can actually eat. Once again made the mistake of buying something "healthy" without checking what the regular stuff had. Those zero calorie things look good to me, but not for a tomato sauce. I'm seeing more of a chicken noodle soup thing. Might be…

I think I enjoy them more. When you eat "junk" all the time, it becomes ordinary. Man, when I have a really GOOD burger, I enjoy the hell out of it now. Before it was just a little better than the crappy burger I had at lunch. lol

I tried Slim Fast years ago. Sounded like a good idea. But it didn't work well for me. I'd drink the Slim Fast. Then about an hour later I'd go get food. Hell, I probably ate more. Having said that, if you think it will work for you, give it a shot! If it works, great! If not, you'll have a fridge full of the stuff for a…

Yummmmmm! Going out for Chicago Pizza tonight for V Day. Been saving calories all day. But that right there? That looks awesome.

If you're good without it, that's fine. But it's not just being "OCD". I wasn't estimating well. Would probably estimate better now with some experience using a scale. And I'll probably get very good after a while. But it's not being OCD. The difference can add up to a lot of calories.

Aahhhhhhhhh! Not losing weight means no deficit at all. Too big a deficit would cause healthy problems, but you'd lose weight. When people starve they get real, real, scary, unhealthy, skinny. Organs can fail, their brains get wacky, but they get skinny. Bad, bad way to lose weight. But not losing weight means no calorie…

Personally I never had an issue with socks until my mileage got up a bit higher than a 5k would require. A good running store will have a variety of running socks, and a *good* running store will let you try them on. I have dedicated running socks for longer runs, but I don't bother for anything under 5 miles or so. They…

"Don't ***** out on me now, Marvin." From Reservoir Dogs.

Absolutely. They always say to add a little incline to the treadmill because running outside is harder. Can't say I actually do it, but it does seem like good advice.

If you can run a mile, you're ahead of the game. You have plenty of time to train. AC25k should be easy for you. They usually start with way less than running a mile. You'll kill it! In my opinion, the most important thing is to get your training runs in. If you miss a day, try to work it in the next day. Just try not to…

This is a reasonably polite one. Ask how much sugar you should eat if you want to see things get testy. lol But please note the remarkable convergence of opinion here of late regarding your original question.

Starvation mode, at least as it is being used here, is a myth. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/761810-the-starvation-mode-myth-again Again.
-
Zero percent chance the OP is netting 700 calories and not losing weight. Starvation mode (whatever that means) would not account for no weight loss. As I said in another thread today, eating too little is a bad thing. But it's a bad thing that results in weight loss. Not healthy or likely sustainable weight loss. But…
-
So you're netting 700 calories a day and not losing any weight?
-
Sugar! I don't even know her!

There's quite a lot of it on here. This thread was a particularly bad example. That's why I kept editing my first post to state it more and more strongly. Eating too little will make you fat. That's why there are all those fat people in Ethiopia. But here in America where food is ample, everyone is thin.

If you're not losing weight, and legitimately eating a very small number of calories, as I've said several times, something is wrong. Get thee to a doctor. But it sounds like it's pretty common for people to not record their calories accurately. I think it's a lot harder than it sounds, and I'd bet most of us are off some.…

IMO, that is right! IMO, so is that! Eat back some of your calories. If you lose weight as expected, you got it! If you don't, you're eating too much. When I started, I ate back my calories. Didn't lose weight. So I didn't eat back any of them. Lost 3 lbs. one week. More than I felt was comfortable. I'm still experimenting…

Resting Metabolic Rate. You burn calories just being alive, even if you never got out of bed. Knowing what that number is gives you kind of a starting point.
-
No one is trying to be unkind. The first few replies told you what you wanted to hear, but were not accurate. It really is this simple - you can not gain weight if you are at a calorie deficit. Since you report that you gained weight, something is awry. That's all anyone is saying. Either you're not recording accurately…

lol I'll give you this - that's NOT a good look. Dolly could use a few pounds... in addition to the pounds which are already clearly ample in certain areas. Please look at the last few replies and listen to what they're saying. And very best of luck to you.

I'll say it one more time and then leave you to it. If you are eating that little and gaining weight, something is seriously wrong. I'm not a doctor. I don't know if it makes it any different or not. I had a woman with personal experience tell me that a history of anorexia can mess things up when you try to lose weight…
-
If you have a history of anorexia, you should get some advice from a professional. A bunch of yahoos on the internet aren't what you need. But something is out of whack. If you really are eating that little and *gaining* weight, something is seriously wrong.
-
Could be. But won't keep you from losing weight. If the scale isn't moving, either you're not burning as many calories as you think, or you're eating more than you realize. A calorie deficit *will* result in weight loss. No weight loss, no calorie deficit. Eating more won't fix that. To be clear - eating too little is a…

Also INFP. I've taken it several times over the years and always get the same. I've been told it's not a common result. Interesting to see there are a few of us here.

Evolution doesn't work that fast.

When I was a kid, I was tiny. Seemed like I could eat anything, any time. And I did. Lots. Weighed 123 lbs. when I graduated from High School. I wanted to *gain* weight through my 20s. Kept eating the same way I always had and did, finally, get to a weight that seemed better when I looked in the mirror. Unfortunately, I'd…

My wife just discovered it and is really enjoying it. I tried it - it is tasty.

I'm really learning a lot - appreciate all the contributions to this thread.

Any time there's some unique situation like the medicine you mention, I think it's best to advise talking to your doctor. With that said, assuming that doesn't create a unique situation, let's run the numbers. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ Your BMR is about 1,414. That's the calories you burn being alive.…
