  • You shouldn't feel afraid or embarrassed. You've started this journey of being better to your body, and your teeth are a part of that solution. If you're like me, you're discovering a lot of emotions that you ignored or ran away from over the years and your 30's can't ignore those issues anymore. I encourage you to find a…
  • Take the comment as it was intended - a compliment!
  • The VO2 Max setting may be off. The range goes from about 20 to 80. I set mine to about 45, and it's a little more accurate..
  • I'm in Chicago and I have the same issues: I want to run, but the only time I can get out is after 5PM. The average temp is 32 - 40 degrees and the wind is vicious!
  • I love TJ's! It's an adventure going there. Just like most other grocery chains, you're going to get the freshest product around the perimiter of the store (fruit/veggies, meat/poultry/vegan, dairy, etc). There's a sample counter where you can try the free coffee and an entree of the day. I recommend checking the nutrition…
  • I'm willing to join in as well - I have access to kettlebells at the gym at my job, and the challenge would get my butt back in gear for my Monday KB class. I presume the challenge begins 7/1?
  • 72 Calories?? Bless you!!
  • Tae Bo is a great workout. Any of the workout classes/videos that attack all body parts while confusing your body are great. My trainer once told me, "if you're not sweating, you're not losing". Also, regarding HR Monitors, I recommend the Polar F6 or F7. They run between $90 - $120, and make sure you get the one that…
  • Competitions are fantastic! I lost 10 pounds during Thanksgiving competing against a co-worker, and I've lost another 12 pounds competing against 10 other co-workers in a "biggest-loser" competition. They're great motivators, and everybody wins. I'm trying to think of ideas for another office competition before beach…
  • Make sure you have a HR monitor (with calorie counter). It will help you keep on track. P90X focuses on muscle confusion - I do a lot of that with my trainer and I've had great results! Good luck!
  • Your body may have adjusted to your workout, so change your routine. If you're a runner, join a boxing class. If you do a lot of cycling, try weightlifting or an aerobics class. Confusing the body can produce great results!
  • The Polar F6 or F7 provide you with simple displays, and they guage how many calories have been burned. I'm not sure if the F4 provides you with the same data.
