Kari sometimes we just need to sleep and recharge our batteries. Hope the rain lets up soon for you. We also had a bit of a drizzle here which was kinda nice as it got rid of a lot of snow. Temps are getting a little higher each day so that is helping too. Paula you just take care of that knee young lady. Hoping to get to…

Hello ladies :) I see everyone is doing their best to keep active and that just ROCKS! Hubby went to 3rd last week. So far, so good. Not getting as much sleep but sleeping better. Does that make any sense, lol? He is a very light sleeper so he is up many times throughout the night but is only up maybe twice now that he is…

Having issues also the past few days. Frustrating :s

Paula glad to hear you are home. did they give you any exercises to do during the day? Mom had some along with a rehab guy that came to the host for two weeks.

Kathy us Northerners have always had the hopes of going South to keep warm in the winter but lately it is just as wintry there as it is here. We are due to get a spell of three days in the mid 30's. That means warm enough to snow some more, :# something is just wrong with being able to say it is warm enough to snow again,…

Challenge x2 completed with 10k steps so far. Still need to go to the store and get hubby's darkening blinds for our room so I am hoping that will finish off my12k. Just a few more days and he will be on third shift. This should be interesting for a bit. Ready to get back into the gym though. Paula I am sending good vibes…

Shelley I remember hanging sheet rock when we redid our last house :p great exercise but exhausting too. Extra supports? Sounds like you are prepared for this new tank. Having to open the ceiling back up would just blow. Slippery Rock is only 90 minutes from home and in PA. They don't have an actual Zoology degree but she…

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. We have been freezing here (-8, feels like -23). Needless to say I have been deep couch sitting today. I did get all of our taxes done though so that's a BIG plus to being cooped up. Hubby goes to 3rd in like three weeks or so. I worked it for 11yrs when our daughter was little and felt…

Fink glad to hear everything was OK. Scary stuff. Clara my whole family watches TWD together lol and Bones too Chris I need to follow your lead back to the gym, *sigh* when hubby goes to 3rd shift I will be able to go again right after work. Driving together is crimping my style, lol. No challenge today but I need to…

Hello ladies :) been a bit busy here with college visits again and making daughters pros/cons list so we could narrow it down. Also had to get her FAFSA and PHEEA (or whatever the heck they call it) finished for her financial aid decisions. She has it narrowed down now to two schools. Slippery Rock University here in PA…

Kat we were praising the fireplace Gods ;) I am ready to get a run in when this weather breaks. So slushy and icy that I am not willing to do it now. Shelley glad your presentation went well. That must be a relief that it is over now. I know I would be a wreck. Chris my countdown is a bit longer than yours :'( I still have…

Hello ladies :) Paula it sounds like you had quite the productive workout ;) Completed over 12k steps today with some Kettlebells and abs. Have to meet the furnace man tomorrow so he can get our heat back up and running, Brrrr........ Luckily we have a gas fireplace that keeps the house cozy. Stay warm Lynnette

Chris I have to wear steel toe shoes as it is a manufacturing plant. Toe is much better though so I was able to conquer those steps and the challenge x2 tonight. Steps took forever being that 6k of them were done in the basement, UGH!!! Kat welcome back and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I noticed today that it was almost 6pm and…

Feeling better today. Was prepared to conquer the challenge and my 12k step goal then I burned my poor big toe :o Yep only me. Stepped in water on the kitchen floor and got my sock wet. Decided to go in the living room and dry my sock/foot by the fireplace. Held my foot up and accidentally touched the glass on the…

Challenge x2 completed plus my 12k steps are conquered. Still fighting this cold so I am really kinda physically exhausted. Getting up and moving even to just get my steps in feels good though. Have a good evening ladies Lynnette

Challenge x2 and my 12k today. Not bad for feeling like poo all day. Pretty sure all three of us are getting head colds, BLECH! We have been very fortunate though that so far we have avoided the dreaded flu bug. Kathy how fun, new gear  Love when the guys take those hints we drop and just get us what we want. Paula…

Hello ladies. Sounds like you have all been quite busy the past few days. I am working a few extra hours still so I am getting some extra steps at work. Although the 12k that I am trying for is quite a challenge some days. Chris we have a Walnut Creek here too, lol. Good fishing there according to the guys at work. Very…

Kathy, I bet that was a hoot trying to hit those balls and chasing them all over. We don't have a treadmill either. I use the Wii step (although any step would work) and just step in front of the tv. It end to walk around the basement during commercials just to break up the monotony of it. Hubby loves his elliptical but I…

Crossing my fingies for you and your partner Kathy Shelley challenges for a cause ROCK! Something about the cause that keeps one on track. Hoping my runner neighbor can give me some info on winter walking gear. Although I am trying to talk hubby into cross country skiing. We have quite a few places here that do it both on…

Challenge completed x2 with some extra Abs, whew! Working OT again so the gym has been non-existent. I am getting my 10k steps in at work though so that's a plus right? Super cold here so no outdoors activities for me. Although I think I am going to look into some spikes for my shoes so I can walk outside. Being cooped up…

Kathy we are freezing our tushies off up here in PA also. Last I looked it was 6 with a -22 windchill. Not walk friendly weather for me, lol. I couldn't imagine being in traffic like that daily. Road rage would get me for sure. Just under 10k steps right now but going to get some in after this post. Also doing challenge x2…

Nice job Shelley! Kathy I stayed away from the junky food one but did hit the sandwich machine for a croissant scrambler. Needed some protein to boost me around that 1 o'clock slump. Chris sometimes I do walk to the machine in the back of our bldg. or the one upstairs. Usually someone stops me to BS and I end up forgetting…

Way to get those steps in Chris. I think I may up my goal to 15k for the winter. Brought lots of salad and fruit to work today. Crossing my fingers that it keeps me away from that vending machine. Lynnette

Challenge x3 and my 10k steps completed. Boy can I tell that it's been awhile since I've really pushed myself. Breathing pretty hard and sweaty by that 3rd set. Way to crush it Kathy! Lynnette

Mixing it up, LOVE IT!

I totally agree with the logging and accountability. My log used to be a simple breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks breakdown. However I changed it to 4hr increments instead. Now I can see if I am eating junk/ sugar in the same time frame each day. This will help me plan healthy snacks for those times and to stay away from…

I was wondering what whether that would get logged under cardio or strength, lol
