  • 1-2 lbs per week is considered healthy, reasonable weight loss for most people. I count 13 weeks until July 1st, so a weight loss goal between 13-26 lbs would be considered reasonable. 34 lbs is a big stretch, not necessarily impossible, but possibly unhealthy weight loss depending how you get there. You would need to…
  • If I had to make a guess, I would guess no, it wouldn't work the same way for him. Why? Because the human body uses carbs and glycogen stores first for energy. Low carbers have very few carbs and glycogen to burn through and are readily fat burning adapted. I think the danger would be depending on how much sugar he intakes…
  • Forgot to mention I really enjoy Count's Customs too!
  • It could be just another round of keto flu. Some take longer than others to adjust. Since I can't see your diary and assuming your eating enough and a well balanced, varied diet with low carb veggies, I'm kinda wondering if MAYBE, just maybe you're experiencing mineral/vitamin overload with taking so many supplements.…
  • New percentage 4.51%! I'm currently 15lbs and 3 inches down since I started back on MFP in February. As of this morning, this puts me half way to my 1st weight loss goal on June 12th. Super excited! I hope I beat it.
  • Nuts, flax, avocado, blackberries, collard greens, spinach, chard, cauliflower, Mustard Greens, Chicory, Endive, and chia seeds are good sources of fiber too... http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/nutrition/a/fibercounts.htm
  • Perfect! Great job shedding the weight! Keep up the awesome work!
  • I've been enjoying the old P90 (Power 90) videos. I feel like they're pretty low impact so far and anyone could do them. Comes with a nutrition plan too. Can probably find a used copy for cheap. I got mine for free. Tony Horton is a goofball and entertaining. Very happy and encouraging, rather than a drill sargent type…
  • Our bodies keep better diaries than we do. Like those above, I would 1st suspect diet. Not all food labels are accurate either, and the more processed a food is, the more likely it will be inaccurate. Food manufacturers are allowed a 20% margin of error on their food labels. A food scale is really the only way to ensure…
  • 2.82% this week, BAM! I lost 1.8lbs this last week. :-D My goal for Memorial Day is somewhere between 10.74% and 13%. I would prefer 13%, but I would still be happy with being over 10.74%. My goal is to drop 30lbs by my 30th birthday, which is 2 weeks after Memorial Day. 10.74% is right on track for my 30lb goal, 13% is…
  • Maybe you just need a change in how you prepare your eggs. I got sick of scrambled eggs too at one point. Now I also make soft eggs and poached eggs in the microwave. Super easy. They plate very nicely on a bed of lightly steamed spinach, topped with an avocado mash mixed with lemon juice, basil, and sea salt, then…
  • Top Gear (both UK and US versions), Wheeler Dealers, Gas Monkey (I'd never buy a car from them though, lol), NHRA, Sprint Boats (man, I love sprint boats! Can't blink when I watch it.), Drag Boats, Supercross, Overhaulin', MotoGP, Barrett Jackson, Meccum... I'm gonna have to watch Road Kill. Use to subscribe to Camaro…
  • kathy, I'm positive it's just water weight. When I started my p90 video, I was warned that an increase in exercise will cause the body to hang on to extra water for 2-3 weeks. In the end though, you'll lose more weight. Well worth sticking to it. :-) Great job so far everyone! Let's smash through those goals!
  • Carbs no. Calories yes or no, it depends on how much your body needs. Most try to net above their BMR. If I've done my exercise video for the day, then I usually need to eat some calories back to stay above my BMR.
  • ^These seem like good options. I like to use TVP to cut my taco meat so it lasts longer and reduces the cost per pound. I bet the mfp group Happy Herbivores will have some good ideas for you too if you haven't joined yet.
  • Hi kathy, Opps, looks like I have you on the list twice. One shows your post from last week the other doesn't. I guess you're the lucky one that has to do double the work. lol ;-) Good catch. I'll delete the extra one for next weeks post. Thanks!
  • Finally, I get to post my progress for the week! 1.80% Woot! The week before though I stalled, so my weight loss this week was a little larger than normal. And I already challenged myself this week to try a new food, which was blackberries. They're now my 2nd favorite fruit behind strawberries. :-)
  • Lots of good info here for newbies: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/744145-faqs-useful-links-and-info-for-newbies Sending FR. :-)
  • ^^^This! Read it if you haven't yet. Stay under 50g, stay within your calorie range, watch your fiber count, drink lots of water, remember to get enough sodium in your diet. No worries, you'll keep burning fat.
  • I've seen some stories pop up every now and then in this section. You could try using the search function and see what results show up. Having a pinned Success Story topic in this group be a great idea!
  • Woot! Great job so far everyone! Cheers! :drinker:
  • My guess: You're not eating enough calories consistently. I'm so guilty of this often. Based on your profile, your current BMR is about 1306 and TDEE is about 1567 without exercise. Try to eat in between your BMR and your TDEE daily. If you begin exercising regularly, even light exercise, your TDEE will be much higher.…
  • I'm doing p90 right now. Wanting to move onto p90x3. Feel free to add me.
  • Madddonnnaaa, go ahead and post your weekly progress for this week. I'll add you to the participant list next week. Not an admin, so I can't go back into an old post and edit it. :-/ Karryann, maintaining is great too. I didn't lose a thing last week either. I'm sure you'll have something to report next week! WT2 strawmama…
  • Opps, sorry strawmama. My mistake. I should have added in this post that starting weight for this challenge is last week's weight compared to this weeks weight. The challenge is based on weekly progress. I should have made that more clear. Otherwise your math is correct.
  • Syntrax, Nectar: Vanilla Bean Torte or Chocolate Truffle. Yum! Amazon is the cheapest place to find it. I've never had issues with it foaming. I mix it with almond milk and water, in a cup, with a fork since it mixes easily.
  • Not sure if this is the case for you, but changes in exercising will cause excess water weight. Whether you are just starting, working out harder, or changing your routine, you will have 2-3 weeks of excess water weight. The body hangs on to extra water to protect, repair and build muscle tissue. The scale will be all over…
  • Yeah, the first 2-3 weeks (sometimes 4 weeks for some) of starting low carb sucks! I think we've all been there. The body wants the carbs it's use to burning and is upset it's not getting them. So it needs to remember how to burn fat again. It takes a while, but you'll have lots of energy once your body remembers. In the…
  • I'm 5' 4.75" an average to large frame. I'm right in between frame sizes. I use to weigh 130-133lb in college. 130 was manageable with partying every weekend and looking good. However, at 130 without exercise I probably looked more like I was closer to 140. I'm getting back to 130-133 again, but this time I'm gonna be fit.…
