I didn't say that ALL people in the emergency room are ready to keel over. Many people wait to get treatment because they weren't able to go to a regular's doctor's office. They wait until things get bad. You're absolutely right - people do go the ER for little things too because they can't go see a regular doctor. What…

Can you elaborate on poor people being lazy?
-
What you are referring to only applies to emergency situations or women in labor. Many people cannot afford the maintenance treatments they need for chronic diseases or other diseases like certain kinds of cancer. Those aren't considered emergencies - until the person is about to keel over for it. And even then, they are…

You don't have to eat salad to lose weight. Eat the foods you like in moderation. If you don't like salad, don't eat it.

I like carrots, red peppers and cucumbers raw. I love roasted root vegetables (turnips, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets, etc) with some vegetable oil, cumin salt and pepper. Asparagus roasted with lemon and olive oil. Cauliflower roasted with parmesan. Broccoli steamed with lemon and pepper. I really like sauteing…

 I'm a college student who lives on campus. I have classes at 11 or 12:30 typically. So I get up at 8 or 9, have coffee, and eat before class starts.

This 100%. I find that if I get less sleep, I wake up ravenous. If I get more sleep, a cup of coffee will keep me full for 2-3 hours until lunch time.

This. I don't like the taste of any artificial sweetener, so I use real sugar in my coffee when I'm in the mood. It has nothing to do with clean/natural/chemical stuff for me. I just don't like the taste. I find splenda to be way too sweet and sweet n' low has a weird after taste for me. In my experience, splenda is best…

This may be fine for one or two days, but in the long-term, you're going to need to fuel your body with more calories and protein. It's likely that you'll hit a wall within the next few weeks and crash and burn if you don't eat in a sustainable way. The often quoted bare minimum is 1200, and many lose weight healthily…

Will you have a meal plan? Sometimes Uni's have nutrition information online. I keep yogurt and cereal and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Fresh cut veggies and fruits as side dishes. All are pretty easy to keep in the dorm. Then I like to eat dinner with friends in the cafeteria. You just have to be careful about…

I've dealt with similar issues. I try and make it about me and not them - "I'm not hungry," "I'm not in the mood right now," "I'm feeling satisfied," "I had a big lunch." Eventually most reasonable people will get the drift.

Mustard, especially dijon. Horseradish. Picked ginger. Soy sauce. Hot sauce. I really like Frank's, but when I was in Texas I discovered Lousiana Hot. So good!

I find my morning coffee does the trick:drinker:.

I used to eat Chobani all the time. I stayed away from Fage because of how expensive it was... but I ADORE Fage 2% plain. So good with fruit and nuts, and if I'm in the mood, a little bit of raw honey. I haven't been able to find the full fat Fage in any of my supermarkets, but I recently picked up the Chobani full-fat.…

Frustrated with my workout today. Never feel like I'm doing things correctly and I'm getting some pain in my right shoulder during my assisted dips and bench press. Split Squats (A change from barbell back squats) - 5 x 5 x BW Barbell Bench Press - 5 x 5 x 60 Barbell Rows - 5 x 5 x 60 Assisted Dips - 5 x 5 x -155…

I often eat dinner with my family at 5:30 and go to bed at 11 or 12 PM.By bedtime I'm hungry, because I'm usually hungry five hours after I eat a meal. I just have some water and go to bed. It doesn't interfere with my sleep. I used to have the attitude that if I was "hungry" (bored, sad, celebrating or actually hungry), I…

Too much water is when the water comes up to your nose and you can no longer breathe. :drinker: In all seriousness, it doesn't sounds like you are drinking too much water to me. Sounds about what I drink in a day, though I don't keep track.

It really depends on the food of at your school. My school has one dining hall but there is always a wide array of options - including high calorie foods. You should have no problem consuming 2700 calories a day from dining hall food - that's 900 calories per meal (I could do that.) Think a glass of whole milk, a…

If you have the ability and the inclination, you can can them. Eat them fresh when they're ripe. Peach pie. Peach compote for pancakes/french test. Chutney for meats. Blanch/peal them, slice them and freeze them for smoothies later.

IMO, the best feeling.

@ThinLizzie - Thanks for the kind words. @Lolowolf - Solid advice, thank you. I think it's time to get off my butt and do an exercise video. Thinking of trying Bob's Weight Loss Yoga. @British - I didn't know Fat Secret let users add entries. That's really helpful and the kind of information I was looking for. Thanks.…

I eat out quite a bit with my family and I don't have much control over it. So *I* care. I'm aware that restaurant food are estimates. ALL calorie values are estimates. Some are better then others, but that's not going to stop me from using them and logging them. Just wanted to know how Fat Secret calculates their…

Guess not....

The answers you will get will very widely because each person prefers different things. You have to find foods that you enjoy and that you can eat while maintaining a deficit. For me, those foods have a good amount of fat, fiber and protein to keep both my tastebuds and my stomach satisfied.

This. Is it a buffet, or is plated food being served to you? And if the latter, do you have any control over which dishes you get? Buffet - Stay away from rice/potatoes/pasta and salad dressings (not because they are bad) but because they are hard to estimate. Choose the least sauced protein, undressed salad if available,…
