@pjcfrancis - are the trainers friendly? It's often worth asking them.

I would happily kill for some of those to fence in.

I've done the bottom one, but on a machine designed for it. Sadly can't remember the name off hand, but I referred to it as the dungeon machine because I was convinced I was going to kick the weight off and hit either myself or the person behind me.

Can't help with the phone thing, but I think part of the problem is that if you log weight training as strength training it doesn't add up calories. You've got to save it in cardio if you want it to count for calories (although apparently the numbers you get out are very iffy).

5'3, present weight 163 lb, goal weight 139 lb, cals = 1400, but work is mostly sedentary and I eat ~ half my exercise calories back. (It's also reasonably close to my TDEE, I think).

Pretty similar to yours. My jeans started to get a bit tight and I decided I couldn't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe.
-
I'm another Pepsi person, mostly Max
-
Not sure if they're the worst but both All Good Things (the Ryan Gosling one) and the Sweeney (the newish ones) are a waste of their run time.
-
Once a month, just before I go to the gym. It means there's been enough time for there have been a change, and it's at the same (or close enough) time and machine.

With green tea the trick tends to be, don't leave it brewing for more than 3 minutes. More than that and it tastes like death.
-
All I know is that so far 10 pounds hasn't lost me a jeans size. But I am both short and carry all my weight around my middle.
-
The Sainsbury's own brand blueberry and blackberry is lovely.
-
Concealer and lipstick. Because I am cheap, and because Boots are remarkably good quality, I go with the Boots Naturals range, not because of the natural bit of the name but because they're the only ones that have a concealer that matches my skin tone.
-
I liked Bulletproof Monk, possibly because I knew it was going to be absolute popcorn all the way through and it was. Then again, I like Nicolas Cage's exploding films so I may have all the wrong taste.
-
Sorry if someone else has said it, but if you can afford just one training session so someone who knows what they're doing can check your form, it'll help with that and make you feel more confident going forward with whatever programme you choose.
-
I'm a smidge taller than you and I've got 18 lb left to lose, but yes, I feel your pain about the difficulty.
-
Either Ballistics: Ecks vs Sever or Epic Movie. They were both hella boring.
-
In my case, it's because if I get much below 10 stone I look gaunt enough that people worry that I'm ill. So plain, simple vanity in my case.
-
Thanks for that suggestion. I'll pass it along.
-
I suspect she's already done that. Occasionally people come up with non-official work arounds that work better than the official advice.
-
Actually that weird clumping makes it look more like it was a truly randomised study. Despite what common sense tells us, you expect clumps in random samples.
-
I was going to suggest cycling but I see you've already got that covered. The other traditional low-impact option is swimming, if your gym has a pool.
-
I may or may not have done that for the 3 months that the shower was out in my flat. Sorry.
-
Kidney. It's the most godawful taste. Things I otherwise loathe, like sprouts, I can eat them if they're hidden in something but kidney, yuck.
-
Such are the joys of the rowing machine. Which in a wierd way is actually my favourite. That or the eliptical. Most of them aren't too bad so I'd give all of them a go and see which you like best. For instance I hate the recumbent bike because I find it really uncomfortable to move in, but someone who is taller might not…

>>However, if I can keep the obsession with the numbers and 'play' for months on end (and beyond), I will be a winner.<< It's a lot of grinding but the achievements are worth it ;) Not so much tech but the fitocracy app basically gamifys exercise.

Housemate used to make this (or something very like it) and they were delicious - http://honestcooking.com/indian-aloo-potato-fry-recipe/ And if you're after tasty potato salad recipes - http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/25578/austrian-potato-salad.aspx

Mine seems to be slowly going so I'm sure yours will too.
-
Slowly. Really slowly. At the beginning I tried to go faster and my chest kept seizing up (not asthma just tiny lungs) and the best advice I got for that and for stitches was run more slowly.
-
Ouch! Hope you feel better soon. I think Kirkor is probably right, I'd probably dial down my workouts a little if I were you because consistently doing exercise will get you to your goals faster than higher intensity but less consistency.
