I got the Fitbit One after returning the Force due to recall. I love the fact that I do NOT wear it on my wrist as for workouts I wear a multisportswatch. I do not find any fitbit products good looking enough to wear them on my wrist and for workouts none of them work properly. I strongly believe if you want to measure…

I am doing a 10K in April, a half in June and a 10K and a full in September. I did another half two weeks ago. Good luck with your race! When is it? Stef.
-
^ yes! C25K and I believe it is doable. Stef.
-
^^ That makes sense. I am nearly fifty and it says 179, measured with Polar. Stef.

I started ith C25K went on to C210K and finally ran two half marathons in the last three weeks. It took me 9 months at the tender age of nearly 50. Now I am starting to very cautiously train for a full on this September. The only advise I can give you is up your mileage slowly! I had an overuse injury at the end of last…

Great story! Congrats! You are an inspiration!

It does not bother me the slightest whether people are over or underestimating their calorie burn. I cheer them for doing something instead of nothing. If they overestimate they will have trouble losing weight and that is not my problem. Being active is superb and for that everyone who posts sports activities should in my…

Congrats on finishing it so well! Guess you are signed up for the next one? Stef.

This explains it a bit more: http://www.foot-pain-explored.com/yoga-toe.html

This is what I bought for running: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00N9NHHQK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00 And something like this is what I have for nights, just mine do not have the rim on top. http://www.amazon.ca/Original-YogaToes-Toe-Stretcher-Fasciitis/dp/B004HKWSTU Good luck Stef.

I have the same thing and yes it is called bunions. I use a toe separator, one for all toes (yoga) during night time and yes it does help. I also talked to a doctor who said the same as your physical therapist. I now ordered a toe separator that is like a glove over my big toe and has only one separator for between the big…

I successfully finished my first ever half marathon yesterday after only 9 months of training. I have done two 10K races last year and signed up for quite a few more this year. Having a goal helps me a lot. I always run alone and with music. If I am somewhere in a city, away from home, I make goals to run from the place…

I am sure you will be fine! Stef.

I think maintenance is different, not necessarily harder. I have new goals. Fitness and exercise are now a daily habit. What helped me tremendously is to think in weekly terms and not daily ones. If I go over my calorie goal on one day, I make up for it the next. So far it works for me and it is less stressful than…

Any device with heart rate monitor is more accurate than MFP. I use my Polar V800 for all my cardio workouts and go with those calories. Stef.

I did C25K, moved on to C210K, then trained for half marathons and now for marathons...all within 8 months. I ran races from 10ks, to 10k trail races to half marathons. I never thought I could do that! Just one piece of advice: as you are still a newbie and so am I, do not run on two consecutive days! I had an overuse…

Polar M400 is a multisportswatch and activity tracker. It got superb reviews. Check out DCrainmaker for his reviews. For workouts I do not consider anything without a heart rate strap accurate enough. Stef.
-
Same here! C25K eased me into running. From there I went on to C210K, then training and running 10K and half marathon races and now it is up to marathons. I started in May 2014 and I am now 49 and reached my goal weight. Best of luck Stef.

Get back on the wagon and you can stop worrying! Fluctuations are normal and nothing to worry about as long as you know when to step on the break. Stef.
-
Congrats! I am also maintaining for four months albeit using a slightly different method. I go by weekly calories. If I indulge one day I make up for it the next. Exercise is the most important part of my daily routine and keeping my weight under control. Best of luck Stef.
-
I have reached my goal weight so I am not trying to lose more, but if you think maintenance is easy, you might be in for a surprise! Your TDEE will be much lower once you reach your ideal weight compared to your original weight and you will be forced to eat less than you might want to. Obviously making the right choices…

Yes I did read this article and I did watch the film. The point is that by doing a juice fast over a prolonged period you are not really changing your eating habits, something that is vital for long term success. A juice fast is not sustainable in the long term and that is why most people put back on the weight they have…

Sports and fitness motivate me to eat as healthy as possible. A year ago I was a couch potatoe, now I am running half marathons. During that journey I made lots of changes to my diet which not only helped me to lose weight but also in achieving my goals to run faster. I also lift weights and do tons of other sports.

Massage, ultrasound treatment (I know it's success is highly disputed, but it helped me tremendously) and exercises prescribed by a sports therapist helped me to get rid of my problems very quickly. Stef.
-
I would see a physiotherapist and get proper advice on how to get back in shape. I have a complicated meniscus tear in my right knee and I am now running half marathons without problems. I would not just go out and do workouts without some proper advice. Best of luck Stef.

Blender is the way to go not juicer! Vitamix and Blendtec are fantastic one, albeit on the higher end. I could not live without my blender! Stef.
