That's awesome you managed to fit it in right when you got home. That's what works best for me too... if I wait til after dinner etc, I'm way too lazy and settled in! I don't know if this is an option, but I also go for runs over my lunch break several times a week. I don't worry about showering afterward... just a little…

I PRed a 5k November 22. I finished in 23:44 and the course was a little long - 3.15, so it works out to a 7:33 mile. I have NEVER EVER considered myself a "fast" runner and that seems unbelievably fast to me! Very exciting :D Congrats to everyone else! Yay for breaking 2:00 !!! I did that this fall as well, except it was…

I'm 5'5" or a smidge under. I have a really petite frame (small bone structure, no boobs, etc) so I carry my weight a little more heavily. I know these goals sound kinda low but it's really not overly thin for my frame, at ALL. SW: 135 (gained like 18 lbs last year!) CW: 118 GW: ~115-116 and more toned up... pretty close…

I like the chipotle and the garlic and chive. I usually just eat them paired with veggies like cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, etc or smeared on a fried egg. YUM!

I drink a cup of coffee at ~4:30 at work, and go directly on a run or to the gym after work. I don't get home until 6:30 or so, but I still have a few hours with my hubby before bed, so no big deal. Oh girl I am so so sorry <3 <3 <3

I'll add you! I've been on a pretty good streak recently although I totally relaxed my food intake over long weekend.

I definitely love podcasts!!! Radiolab, this american life, serial, wait wait don't tell me, fresh air, etc. And like others have said, trail running is great. It keeps you fully engaged in every moment (looking at the scenery, figuring out where to put your feet, etc) so you don't get bored. However, my trails are…

I've trained for a half marathon while trying to eat mainly low-carb (no processed carbs, added sugars, etc). It works out OK but you definitely feel lower energy. No way would I actually race low-carb - I added some carbs (eg whole wheat toast) back in my diet the week before. As for fueling during the run, personally I…

Anything 6+ is "long" to me. It's mostly just a mental line in the sand, because I do run that far really regularly. oh my god I so agree! Running a half feels easier in a lot of ways than sprinting for 3.1 miles.

I came back from a run in spandex once, and my aunt was like "Wow when you've been running a lot you really bulk up!" Um WHAT. My BMI was like 19.

I like to drink and go to a lot of social events. I bring healthier foods (eg oven roasted vegetables - SO GOOD) and lower-calorie drinks (vodka & soda water, wine) to try to minimize the damage...

Follow a beginner's training plan (eg Hal Higdon) religiously, and you'll be fine! Congrats, it'll be awesome!

So on a whim I wanted to see if I could beat my previous 5k PR (25:40). I smashed it! 24:06. Yahoo :D

I'm 5'5" and can run a ~8:30 min mile on a 5k or a ~9:15 min mile on a half marathon. I usually run about 9-9:30 min mile when I'm out jogging. Definitely just doing it more, and doing speedwork (sprint intervals) will vastly help your pace! But I do like to blame my shortish legs too :)
-
Congrats! Great job beating your goal too. But I have to say BOO PATRIOTS!!!!! My poor Broncos - that was not a pretty sight.
-
Hot shower and a little food works for me. And a glass or two of wine :)

Well thanks ladies! Fun to keep track via this challenge, so thank you Caitlin!
