  • My bathroom is small too, if I left it out we would kick it by accident. I just prop mine between the tub and the laundry basket and bring it out each morning. I put it in the exact same position so that its level and consistent and then I weigh 3-5 times to make sure. The first one is always 1kg heavier then it evens out…
  • skinnytaste.com is great for healthy recipes. I'm sure you could find some soups on there. The website is categorized fairly well so it should be easy, or you can search too.
  • What a coincidence, that's EXACTLY what I had. What are the chances, aye?
  • It is in Australia, Canada and from what I could see the UK but I can't confirm that. I never mentioned the American brand name Tylenol, I said paracetamol and acetaminophen (which are the same). You have to ask the pharmacist for it, but you don't need a prescription.
  • Oh I assumed you were American, in Australia we call it Naprogesic, you call it Feminax Ultra (apparently) and Paracetamol mixed with codeine, we call it Panadeine Forte (http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/en/lloydspharmacy-co-codamol-8mg-500mg-tablets-32-tablets-17803). I mix them, and you can, but don't do it for more than a…
  • My pain is really bad too. I got to the point last year where I was having pain all month, and I had the surgery to see if it was Endometriosis, it wasn't, so I have no explanation/cure. I take the pill (have done so for nearly 7 years) and I take an extra set of progesterone to help the pain. When I have my period, I take…
  • For me, 10 almonds can be anywhere from 8-12 grams, maybe even more, so you may have actually eaten 65-80 calories, not 33. Definitely get a scale, and weigh everything, I personally don't use a measuring cup for anything unless I'm baking. Do that for a month, and you'll notice you're eating more than you think, but your…
  • I went back a few days into your diary, and I noticed you're using measuring cups, these are very inaccurate, I'll post a video down below to show you just how different servings by cup can be compared to weights, this is good though, because it could mean you're actually eating a lot more calories than you think, it could…
  • Firstly, 5lbs in 5 weeks is amazing! At only 165lbs, you shouldn't be losing anymore than that. Secondly, don't worry about the macros, just make sure you're eating enough protein and some fat to keep your body healthy, focus on eating more food right now before you worry about all the extras. Your body needs the 1200…
  • I use to use MyPlate about 5 years ago, and I used it for maybe 2 years, then I switched to here because the database was better, so was the app, and there is a lot more communication between users. In the 2-3 years I've been here though, it's getting worse all the time. ETA: I just remember I left MyPlate because they…
  • Once I started weighing, I found that an oz of cheese was more than I expected, but I was literally shaving it paper thin, so that's probably why. I'm shocked by how little pasta is in a serving, even though I'm use to it now, it still seems so small! Oh, and apples are heavier than they look! To me, anyways.
  • Why do you say 2200 is way too high? What are your stats? Age, height, weight, activity level? 1400 is too low for a male. Oh also, have you calculated your TDEE? What is it?
  • You can look at my diary if you want, most of my potassium comes from fresh foods like potatoes and bananas and such. I normally aim for about 2000-2500mg a day, and hope the remaining 1500-1000mg is in the food that doesn't list it on the label. For iron, I find cereal is very very helpful, I eat 100 calories of dry Lucky…
  • Definitely agree with everyone else, but I'm also going to say, I can never have a banana before work, they make my hungry 10x worse than if I don't even eat. I don't know if it's the carbs, or the sugar, or what, but maybe try switching out the banana for some nuts or yogurt or something and see if that helps. It use to…
  • Your body naturally burns around 1000-2000 calories a day, depending on your age, height and current weight, this is called your BMR. This is what I assume you've read about, but misunderstood. So if you BMR is say, 1800, and you eat 1500, and burn 500 at the gym, then you have a 800 calorie deficit a day. Also, 10lbs in…
  • I prefer to overestimate just in case, especially if I have the extra calories, I would personally log 320 to account for unpopped/oil left in the bag However I'm in a large deficit so it's not a massive issue for me personally.
  • It says 1 serving size unpopped is 140 calories, so 2.5 servings of that is 350, but 4.5 cups popped at 2.5 servings is 281.25. I'd just log the 350 (maybe a bit less if you want) and call it a day. It is definitely messed up, however.
  • I learnt that a cup isn't always the same weight. I've been here since I was young and naive, and as a baker, cups are everything, so I never really thought about it. Now I know there can be a massive difference in a 1 cup serving measured and 1 cup serving weighed. ETA: I don't actually use cups for anything anymore,…
  • I really like dry cereal, at the moment it's Lucky Charms, it helps with my iron intake too, so it's win win. Plus you can pretty much carry it anywhere without issues.
  • This happens to me with Runtastic sometimes, but if you give it some time it should delete those steps in a few hours once it syncs and figures it out. If it doesn't you can delete all of your steps for the day in your exercise diary, or just ignore them and not eat them.
  • Well, for running, if you are running around a track, you can split the time so you know how fast each lap is, as well as the overall time of all the laps.
  • @Wendy1Fl Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I've been having issues with shin splints too, what kind of warm up/cool down and stretching routine do you suggest?
  • Half a teaspoon is quite a lot, did you measure it out with a measuring spoon? It would be about a NZ 10 cent piece size of salt. Also, did you really eat 8 whole oranges on Tuesday?! EDIT: It's 1200mg of sodium, by the way.
  • Even if it gave no grams on the serving information it would still have said 1kg or whatever on the front of the box, divide that by 5 and you have the weight the servings should be.
  • Had to break for 2 weeks because of shin splints, so there's no way I'll make my goal within the week, but I'm still super happy I ran today without any pain! June 24th - 3.85km
  • It's also important to note that in the U.S. food companies are not required to list the amount of potassium in their product, so a lot don't. You might be eating a bit more than you think. Try eating more vegetables, even potato has a ton of potassium and it should help.
  • Okay so, months ago, I couldn't see the option to turn on negative calorie adjustments, my iPhone 6 tracks my steps. So I just left it. Then a few weeks later, all of a sudden, the option was there, I haven't upgraded or anything. I think they just have a bug in their system which causes issues with seeing this option.…
  • I think it really depends on the situation. I'm losing weight for myself, but part of my motivation is knowing that my caring, loving boyfriend deserves a hot girlfriend. I was losing before I met him, too. However, if he asked me to lose weight, I'd lose him, off a bridge, somewhere dark where no one would find him for a…
  • Exactly! People think "Oh, someone wrote it down, it must be true!" As a scientist, whenever I watch the news and they talk about 'studies' I get so angry because you can tell when an idiot was the Principal Investigator, half the stuff they claim has no scientific basis and is always correlation not causation. I no longer…
  • Not only am I wearing the cap and gown, but it was for a scientific degree! So, you just have to believe me, it's science ;)
