Hi J! I was pescetarian (vegetarian + fish) a few years ago and realized I felt best on it and so I've been one again for the past few months. I love it and feel great so far! It's definitely a lifestyle choice to consider, I don't necessarily eat less cals (I didn't do it to cut my cals too low), but I make healthier…

Whoohooooo!!! Great job everyone keep up the great work!! Go team Eclipse!! :flowerforyou:

Great job! I LOVE jumping rope! It took me awhile to build to it, but I eventually got up to doing 30-45 minutes at a time. It's fun after awhile learning different tricks like crossovers, high knee sprints, lunge jumps, cross-feet jumping jacks, etc, it feels like I'm a kid playing all over again! :) It can definitely…

I'm glad he's better! Aww that's a bummer thanks for the book update! I hope there's another one too! Congrats, a pound at a time is the way to do it! Don't worry about the numbers as much as how you feel with eating better food/taking care of yourself. I haven't lost anything the past two weeks either according to…

oops pressed reply too soon, sorry for two posts! Aisser I hope he feels better soon! I haven't weighed myself in a couple weeks but I think I've mainly been maintaining what I've lost just as a little break...but I was excited when I went to try on my jeans...my ones that were slightly loose are much too loose now (no…

Kimberly I felt exactly the same way, after the fourth one I was like sniffle, no more? :frown: hehe:tongue: Isn't there one she's supposed to finish at some point that's Twilight from Edward Cullen's…

Stores like Roadrunner sports will do tests on your foot and analyze what kind of shoe you need, and let you try out the shoes that match you on the treadmill, it's great! :) They also sell great inserts that have helped me a lot with running.

I agree, I definitely burn more in my hour long superset weight lifting sessions that incorporate plyo jumps, etc than I do in a light 30 minutes jog, even though MFP doesn't say so. I guesstimate often-times, or look at other sites for ideas of how much I burn and change the numbers myself.

I usually crave sweets, so a yogurt or a protein shake (chocolate protein powder and water) hit the spot!! :)

Welcome Kimberly, glad you're joining the group! I'm sorry for the hard times you're going through/have been going through, and I hope things get better soon. We're here for you to help with your goals :flowerforyou: I'm an emotional eater, too, and I find typing on here and connecting with people on this site has…

It's all about balancing the calories over days I think...like if I burn 600 cals and am under the day I ran 6 miles, well the next day if I go over by 200 cals it's okay, between the two days I met my calorie goals...also, I like active rest days, so going for a walk or hike, doing light yoga, etc and still taking stairs…

yay happy friendly people! :flowerforyou:

I actually have to agree about the vampire-thing, haha it's a struggle for me, does it make sense if I'm Team Jacob but also Team Vampire?

Wannabecullen, 3.5 is AWESOME, great job! :glasses: Don't worry that's it not 5, it's still 3.5, and there are so many factors that can affect weight loss, like sleep, stress, etc...as long as you're getting healthy and fit and feeling great, that's all that matters! Usmc, that sounds like a good idea  Yayyy…

I like stretchy/skinny jeans too, hehe the way I tell is I have a pair of jeans from my healthy weight from when I was younger...they aren't in style at all anymore and actually a really bad color for me (I don't know what I was thinking buying them and wearing them as often as I did?) I try them on every now and…

Haha that's an awesome one for the list usmc! I think Cullen's actually a great name, even if I wasn't a fan of twilight I'd consider it, too  And if anyone teases them, they can say hey, it's waaay better than, oh I don't know, Nicholas Cage naming his son after superman? Btw, is what you're trying…

I don't like what I've heard with the research regarding splenda, I prefer Stevia and I really like Agave Nectar (I like baking with it, it's almost like honey! :))

Sometimes when I'm really busy, I split the workout up, because I don't have just an hour or so straight free...so I'll do my cardio in the am and lift weights in the pm, or do yoga in the am and cardio in the pm, etc...that way I can just work out 20-40 minutes at a time. Sometimes I don't even have time for that and do…

It's so much fun!! The first time I did it it brought back memories of dancing around my room as a teenager for some reason, haha. I didn't realize how sweaty/worn out I was til I left because I was so into it, it was awesome!

Thank you for the warm welcome!! I'm very excited for it, wow 18 weeks! Although I'm new to our neighborhood and my husband isn't as into it (maybe he just wishes he was a Cullen or a werewolf? ), so I hope I find someone to go with by then! Although, going to the movies by myself would not deter me in any…

Hi! Can I join late too? :flowerforyou: I'm a big fan of twilight and fitness, so this is a great combo! I'm living overseas in Germany with my husband who's stationed here (and I'm happy to say there's an english-movie theater nearby that showed new moon and I'm hoping eclipse! ) I thought I was Team…

I wouldn't cut your calories too low, if you do the body goes into defense mode and tries to hold onto the weight. I actually lose more if I increase the workouts rather than decreasing the cals too much. For example, if I can have 1250 cals/day without any activity (which personally isn't enough food for me), but then…

nice pics, awesome job!! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :)

Every body and every person is different, so you need to find what works for you. Your activity level will also affect it. For example, on days I don't work out, I function fine on 7.5-8 hours of sleep. If I work out hard for an hour+, I usually need 8-9 hours. If I work out 2+ hours like with a long run and lifting (and…

Haha that's awesome!! Thanks for sharing! You know, I've always loved flowers, maybe that's why I love broccoli... Haha, I love the kissing statistic, does that mean Valentine's day kisses cancel out the chocolate?

I agree, I always eat them, you don't want to be too low either. Your body needs those extra calories to restore glycogen levels/replenish muscles/re-energize...if you're too low in cals (like by not eating the added cals given with exercising), your body may hold onto the weight. However, I don't stress if, for example, I…
