THANK YOU! You know, I really do actually feel better!!!!

Wow, I left the house for a little bit and was DELIGHTED to get so many insights! Does anyone know if it is actually better for my BMI to be at the lowest number (which I believe is like 18?) rather than the 22? I mean, are there more health benefits? I'm not opposed to a little more work if there is a real value-added to…

Hey! So I'm sitting here, plugging in my foods, exercises, etc., and it occurred to me that maybe I should be happy with where I am in my weight & not always fighting for a lower number. I know what it's like to weigh almost 300 pounds, and up until a couple of months ago, I knew what it was like to weigh in the 130's.…

You're right about the "can't have just 1 glass"! Unfortunately, it's more like 2-3 glasses....but I'm SURE our glasses are more than 5 oz!!!!! So, looks like it's time for me to make a decision~I know I CAN stop drinking (every now and then, we'll not drink for a month, just to make sure that we can  )
-
:noway: I'm just AMAZED & quite frankly in shock with how the body treats alcohol~just took the fun out of it!!!!!
-
REALLY appreciate the info!!!!!

Okay, here it goes...my husband and I enjoy wine, pretty much well every evening. I really never thought about those calories until joining this site. Are alcohol calories the same as any other calorie? Am I REALLY working out so that I can drink? :drinker:

Sorry for your lost....you're in my prayers :flowerforyou:

First of all, ellelit, you need to LOSE these people that feel it's their business to tell you what you need to do with your body!! I am 150 pounds lighter than I was 14 years ago. I can tell you the most important thing you can do is to lose weight slowly~I think the "sag" factor is kinder, because you are losing…

 Boobie Chicken-Chunks here!

I can't say enough about the Tanita! I've had mine for 10 years and it really does give accurate weight and fat %! I think it was about $100. I may not like the numbers it gives sometimes, but at least I know they're accurate

You're AWESOME!!!!! :drinker:

Sounds like we share a similar taste in foods~have you tried the Fiber One Oats& Chocolate bar? Forget the fact that it gives you 35% of your daily fiber....the thing tastes better than a candy bar & has only 140 calories! My 14 year old son even loves them!
-
Isn't that the truth!!! I make sure I go on a bike ride or do some other cardio activity right when I get up, just to start the day off right. Since starting this site, I have also decided to go into my "goals" section on the weekend and switch it to "maintaining your weight". I don't eat the calories, but it's nice to…

 What I love most about this site is that I never ate my "workout calories" before I had this calorie counter and WHAT a difference it makes~I used to be starving all of the time!!! Just really wish I could take Banks up on the "no scale" month challenge~I guess that's the next vice I have to quit!
-
HEEEEEEEY~Welcome!!!! :flowerforyou: I think you're going to LOVE this site!

I remember my first time at the gym...I didn't go until I had lost about 75 pounds (REALLY regret that decision now, in hind sight). I think, unfortunately, the fear that most of us have is that there is no one but "hardbodies" in gyms and that everyone will be looking at the overweight people! I was very surprised (and…

I'm sitting here enjoying one of my "snacks" for the day (right now I'm having half of a bag of Redenbacher's Smart Pop (120 calories) and thought I might find out what everyone else likes to snack on~my other favorite is Fiber One's Oats & Chocolate bar (has 35% of your daily fiber & 140 calories), and is, in my opinion,…

The longer you go without eating greasy stuff, the harder it becomes to eat them again~which can actually be a blessing! I became a vegetarian 9 years ago and really cleaned up my diet. I tried eating a few Lay's potato chips a couple of years ago and was in total agony (as well as the bathroom~NICE!)

Welcome!!!! YOU CAN DO IT! :flowerforyou:

Someone said "here comes Body By Kelli" as I entered my gym, a decade ago, as I was in the throws of losing 140 pounds. It was overheard and then just became my nickname!

Hi! I actually googled "calorie counter" to see the calorie content for a pear and happened upon it......I'm just so happy that I did!!!!! I  this site!

Hi and Welcome!!!! :flowerforyou:
-
Good luck!!! :flowerforyou:

I wish you much luck~! Now, this is totally off the weight loss subject, but I wanted to let you know that I LOVE YOUR HAIR (you are a very pretty woman!) Is your hair thick or thin~I just may have to get the same style! :flowerforyou:
-
Hi!!!! I just joined yesterday...AND LOVE IT!!! The fact that I'm being held accountable, by having to enter in all of my foods, has truly stopped me from senseless eating!!!! Good luck to you!

Too funny about the rice cakes.....I just finished one before returning to this page! Your 5 pound loss is inspiring.....it is my goal, at my 2 month mark, to be back at my starting weight! As for the people around me...I was a closet smoker~most people didn't even know I smoked (of course my husband did) and it seems like…

Thanks "peterscupelli"~it's a pleasure to be here!!! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DISSERTATION!!! I'm checking out your wife's link (she's got a VERY pretty name  ) Kelli

This is my 2nd time quitting....restarted after 3 years of not smoking (not real bright!). I know, for me, the first time I quit, I put on 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks of quitting and another 15 pounds over the next 3 months. That's why I'm taking this so serious now....I'm actually kind of pleased that it's only 7…
