My family and I rejoined the Y in February(we had been members before and did not go enough so we would stop) and we haven't looked back since. I have found group classes that I love and when it is hot out(and it has been hot and humid here lately!) there is an indoor track and swimming pool. I have made some friends there…

Definitely eating healthier foods have been more expensive for me too. I have found produce at our local Target store to be the cheapest around...just bought Red Bell Peppers for like $1.29 or $1.49...can't remember exact price, but definitely cheaper than the grocery store! Also they had cucumbers on sale for $.77. Not…

Welcome Mickey! Hope you find this site as helpful as I have! I am one the first 1/3 of my journey...I have about 4 pounds to go to meet my first big goal of 50 pounds gone! Then I start on my second 50...I am very committed to this lifestyle change and hope that in a year from now (by the time I turn 46...) I will meet my…

Welcome Susie! This site it great...lots of support and a great way to keep on track! I am also 44 (almost 45), married with two adult children that are currently in college. I live in WI. Welcome again and feel free to add me if you want!

I "started over" just a few months ago at 44 (soon to be 45!) and so far doing well. Have not yet met my first goal, but I am only 5 pounds away! (wanted to lose 50 pounds by end of June...now hoping by the end of July) Good luck on your journey-you will find a lot of support on this site! :flowerforyou:

I am in week 2 of C25K...I take at least a day off between but I do other workouts in between such as cycling, swimming, and I also do Body Pump, all of which I started prior to starting C25K, so I have not been too sore with C25K. Good luck with C25K!

This happened to me when I first started exercising and changing my diet. But it did come back. :ohwell:

Wow! You look amazing! Congratulations!!!:flowerforyou:

I have a Polar as well and love it!!! I believe it to be that the % that is showing is the % of calories were from fat. So, if your % shows 55, then 55% of calories burned come from fat. Please correct me if I am wrong! LOL :flowerforyou:

Welcome back! The support here is amazing...feel free to add me if you like.

Way to go!

 I am from Wisconsin too...have sent a request your way as I still have about 110 pounds to go. Would love to help each other out!

I think the best thing is that people are starting to really notice that I have lost weight and are telling me that I look great. But even better, my husband of almost 23 years (and who is one of my biggest supporters) has been telling me that I am "getting my curves back"! I have also gotten back into…

Ditto to what Beth said! :flowerforyou:

Thanks Beth! Great information...I have also found that if I have increased calorie intake I do end up losing the weight. I am going to do a little more investingating on this. Now I just have to find a "happy" balance with the sodium! Have a great day! :flowerforyou:

I am excited to see some muscle building in my biceps...now if my triceps would just catch up! Can't wait to see some of the "wing" action be gone! I also am starting to tone my legs...it is really exciting and I can't wait to feel comfortable wearing shorts again some day! I also do not get swelling in my ankles as much…

I would love to take a trip to Italy, but that may be cost prohibitive. So unless I win the lotto, it may be a trip to Chicago or Las Vegas...I just want to get on a plane and go somewhere!

I would say yes...soda is probably to blame. I quit drinking soda about 11-12 weeks ago and I have pretty much relied on water, Sobe Lifewater, Lipton Green Tea(that I mix in water-although I am not drinking that as much anymore either), lemonade (usually Crystal Light), and occasionally milk. But mostly it is water. I…

I am in! I signed up for the Lazyman Triatholon at the YMCA and I have to bike 112 miles before July 15th. So challenging myself to do at least the 100 by the end of June sounds good to me!

Watching now!

I just signed up for the YMCA Lazyman Triathlon and starting June 1st I will have to start doing some swimming for a toral of 2.5 miles over the course of 5 weeks, so maybe combining a routine will be good for me.

I am thinking about starting this program too. Need to change up some of the workouts that I am doing. Thanks for the information!:glasses:
