HEHE, thanks!

First off Welcome! Basically this site helps people to see that calories going in (what you eat) is less than calories going out (exercising, for example) What you eat is important, but if you eat 4000 calories in fruit, you are still eating 4000 calories. Make sense? Take your time looking through the message boards and…

Not sure if you are a chocolate or peanut butter fan, but I made a devils food boxed cake but used 12 oz water instead of the eggs and oil. Then topped it with fat free coolwhip mixed with 2 tbls of peanut butter. Very tasty and only 207 cals (depending on the boxed cake and pb you use)for a huge piece!

Not completely sure. I use a bottle a couples times then pitch it. But I think prolonged use can leach out some of the chemicals in the plastic of the bottle. I would recommend just buying a water bottle that is dishwasher safe and refilling that. If the headaches, other issues stop, then that was the culprit. If not, then…

I measure my waist monthly because of a group that I am on for MFP. The full body measurements I do every other month.

Go Cyclones! Hehe Welcome to your new life! Make sure you pay attention to everything, not just the scale. Scales can be evil ;-) This site is great and has a lot of information and inspiration. I wish you all the best on your journey :-)

I wondered more about about the Double Cheeseburger from Hardees add that came up one day. It gave me a good laugh though. :-)
-
According to the calculator, I hit my happy weight with this mornings weigh-in. I wish that it were true, but I'm not quite there yet. But it was very interesting though. :-)

I'm also starting week 4. It looks intimidating, but I know we can do this!

Welcome back! This might be an odd suggestion, but I find if I don't have cash with me, then I can't go to the vending machines :-) Bring some snacks that can curb the need for sweet, like oranges or apples. Plus these are things you can take a bunch to work, and they can sit for when you need them. I know it isn't the…

Get your self some good meat, season with garlic powder and pepper, put in a skillet sprayed with pam or a little extra virgin olive oil. Cook on medium until doneness you like. In my old days, I would use butter on the pan, adds great flavor to the steak, but still tastes great with out. Happy Cooking :-) I like to pair…

I had that issue the other day. I got a big plate of spinach for dinner, added some fat free, low cal cheese, and some salmon to it. Granted you don't need the protein, (I didn't need carbs that day) But it was very filling. Just and idea. Oh and with what I put on there (I also put on some balsamic vinaigrette, but didn't…

My sister has a lot of feet problems and she bought a pair of MBDs (the orginal from what Reebok and sketcher copied, but the MBDs are doctor designed and approved.) She loves them and runs/jogs in them. She has really high arches and heal issues. If she wears those, she doesn't have issues with shin splints, if she wears…

Anything is a good thing. Even getting up and walking around the office a couple times a day is great for getting the blood moving. Do what ever it is you can do, that is still more than it was, right? And remember playing with the kids is a great workout. Especially getting down on the floor with them. I know my son works…

That is so great! Congrats to you and your hubby. My hubby and myself are finding the same things. We just don't want to buy anything until we absolutely have to :-) Keep at it and thank you for your story. It is truly inspirational and things like this keep me coming back.

I am a huge fan of foil, yes. But I absolutely love my parchment paper!
-
My only advice would be to not buy them if you have issues limiting yourself. Just don't have them in your house at all. Then you can't be tempted by them. The hardest part of this has been not licking my fingers when making my son food or snacks! I don't want to have to log it. Granted it is much better manners not…

Huzzah! Congrats on the loss :-)

I don't necessarily have the UGH with eating or gaining weight, but Thursday are generally a bad day for me feeling wise. I don't know why but this always seems to be the day that I could lay in bed and not talk to anyone or do anything and I would be fine. At least I'm not the only one with a Thursday issue. :-)

WooHoo! Go jeans success stories!
-
Great job! Jeans are a great way to mark success! Keep at it.

I had some at Red Lobster (hope I'm not fibbing) And I think all they did was broil it with a little olive oil and some pepper and salt. I can do without the salt myself, but it was tasty. Pair it with some veggies like steamed carrots and cauliflower.

We make ours in the crock pot. Just put the meat and potatoes in there and cook all day. The soda bread I made was whole wheat, but still about 250 cals a slice, just as a warning. Enjoy your meal!
-
We just did the whole wheat hamburger helper but used ground turkey instead. Very good and it helped to knock out a few cals and fat grams.

Welcome! I hope that you find this site has helpful and inspirational as I do. You can add me as a friend if you need some extra encouragement, or just a sounding board. Good luck to the start of your new life!

I am a web designer/musician. The web design pays the bills and the music funds my son's savings account. I love that I have a job that I can be home with my son all day. I also love that I have continued with music and that he is really starting to have a love for it! It is great to always have a cheering section at a…

I agree with arielle. I don't do the free days thing. Everything I eat fits into my calories, or I do an extra time of exercising THAT DAY to make up for it. I agree that most of the time the foods just make me sick. To me, I think I am more important then to have "free days" It was the free days that got me here. Not…

I go with the rule of cutting it in half and just eating half of it. I'm still getting the bad, but not as much.
-
Welcome to your new life! I love it here and have found it very informative and inspirational. I hope you find the same to be true!

Might sound odd, but I take Flinstones Chewables. It has everything, and some more, than what the women's one a day has, it is chewable (so I can feel like I get a little piece of candy every day) and, more importantly, I can have one set of vitamins for the whole house hold. I tried doing the other vitamins, and they all…
