Yes, OP, I'm not downplaying your concerns, but most women (me included) would love to have your body. I suggest you focus on being healthy and enjoy your life. Your thighs are not huge by any standard. I understand you may want to change your body. I agree that weightlifting may be what you are looking for.

Seriously?! Your legs look fine. Not seeing the problem here. One day you will look back at that picture and think "what was I complaining about ?"

I haven't found one, so I'm in for the recommendations!

I always have my earbuds in, so I don't usually talk to people. I might smile at the regulars. I'm not there to chat. Usually I go after work, so I just want to get my workout done, so I can go home and relax. I talk plenty all day long because I'm a teacher. I enjoy my alone time!

I have a Precor and I love it! It has variable crossramp and resistance - no way does it get too easy since you can adjust those. And of course you can make yourself push harder/go faster and do HIIT. I don't get the comments about it getting too easy, unless there are ellipticals that don't have those adjustments. I love…

Yes, I think it depends on your goal. I know I will probably never get lean enough to have a six pack (it would be nice, but not likely). But I have had back problems, so I want a strong core to prevent them. I do 75 crunches almost every day in the pursuit of that. I do like the suggestions made by yogicarl and will try…

This is so true. I worked with someone last year who would almost hound me asking for details on how I lost weight and changed my body. I would tell her what I did - eat less and exercise more - and she always seemed disappointed that there wasn't some magic, easy way to do it. And then go right on with her "vegan" diet.…

Yes, just go. I promise after a couple weeks it will feel totally normal for you to be there.

Now this is a nice post!

Last time I checked it, it was 58. I do about 5 hours of cardio a week. The best thing for me was I was able to get off blood pressure and cholesterol meds with losing weight and exercise.

I always come home and shower right away. I sweat way too much to even think about keeping my workout gear on. Just yuck!
-
Wow, you look amazing! Very impressive transformation (although you did not look like a blob before). :-)
-
Congrats! That's a great feeling!

Shopping! It's so much fun to be able to buy fun, cute clothes! Also, being in better shape than many people younger than me. I love being fit!
-
Really interesting! Thanks for posting!
-
I remember that! That is a great feeling! Enjoy your shopping. ????

That's awesome! Congrats!

60 minutes on elliptical (crossramp 12, resistance 11) Finished book Took nap Surfed web Need to do laundry :-)

It only bothers me if they are doing it on a machine I want to use. I wear headphones so I don't hear them.

I understand not feeling good about yourself. I remember seeing myself in the mirror at the gym and feeling disgusted with myself for letting myself gain so much weight. But now, 2 years later and 60 pounds down, I like what I see in the mirror. So don't let your feelings keep you from going to the gym, if that's what you…

I work out 5 days a week, and I can't imagine wearing workout clothes more than once. I sweat way too much for that! I have a bunch of clothes for working out. It seems like you need at least 3 sets of clothing. I do laundry every weekend, so I could get by with less than I have, but I like clothes.

I think you look awesome! It's working for you, so I think it shows there is more than one way to reach a goal. Keep it up!

This also happens to me! The reverse can be true, too. Sometimes I feel great, head to the gym, and then feel tired very quickly. So go figure...

I had been on BP meds for a few years, but last summer after losing 60 pounds and working out regularly, my doctor took me off them. It was one of my happiest moments! She also took me off cholesterol meds. My BP and cholesterol levels are good now, and I want to keep them that way.

Well, I wanted to see your video, but it says you have not made it available on mobile, so I can't watch it on my iPad. Can you change the setting? Anyway, congrats! What an awesome accomplishment!

I doubt you are burning that many calories walking 5 miles. I would use a HRM to figure out your calorie burn.

I love my Precor elliptical. I do the treadmill and strength training at the gym, and do the elliptical a couple times a week at home. It's nice to have something at home for those extra workouts. I've had no problems at all with my Precor - had it 6 years. It's expensive but the quality is great.

Well, it's true - I do look better! A lot better, actually. Still, it's nicer when someone just says, "You look great!" To me, anyway. So that's a lesson for you guys out there. But, truthfully, that particular guy is always pretty blunt. Just his personality, I guess.

I would just enjoy it. It doesn't sound that high to me for maintenance if you work out a lot. I would up intake gradually until you find the number that keeps your weight steady.
