  • Woo hoo!! Great job.
  • I know, right? I think it's because it takes my actual past runs and adds a percentage so I get all kinds of weird goal times and distances. Like 38 minutes, 11 seconds and stuff like that.
  • Ok, here goes: Welcome! to @bbrandi82, @Wolfger, @mill2804, and @CrystalConsults! @bbrandi82, several of us are training for a HM around the same time - mine is in mid-November. @MNLittleFinn, sorry your race didn't go as planned and hope you feel better soon! @JimCrackinDandy, congrats to both of you! Sounds like a great…
  • Congrats on the long run!!
  • Ah, @shanaber, it was you - thanks! I now have three pairs of running pants - I've been getting by with one so super happy to have a couple more. <3 Now it looks like I have an excuse to get more shoes, too! B) The ones I have now are the Brooks Glycerin 14 and they're pretty much the only shoes I've tried that seem to…
  • I've done this a couple times, too, although I've found that having a day of rest before my long run helps. I can do two or three shorter (3-4 miles) runs in a row but I can't yet do a longer run back-to-back. I think it's ok to adjust the schedule, though. Life happens.
  • Great race report @MobyCarp! I can't remember anything that happens while I'm running, too busy trying to talk myself out of quitting. :p
  • Welcome to @anitamistry1 and @declan_h! Sorry to hear about your injury, @hanlonsk. Hope you heal up quick! I was going to weigh myself this morning to add to the chart but it's been so long my scale batteries were dead and I was not changing them at 5 in the morning. Plus, I can't even find a tape measure. (Maybe I just…
  • Wondering the same thing. Geez, it was hard enough to find one pair!
  • Me, too. :'(
  • So not there yet. Maybe some day...
  • Happy Anniversary! @skippygirlsmom so cool about seeing a coyote. I love seeing wildlife - the best I've seen is a bobcat. @ona1990 welcome! I'll have to check out the spreadsheet but I haven't weighed or measured myself in over a year and don't have a clue what my stats are. Anyway, brutal run last night 7.8 miles. It was…
  • To be fair her original post said most people. A 20% success rate means an 80% fail rate. 80% is most. I do think being on this site gives us a big advantage with all the knowledge and experience of those who have been successful long-term.
  • @shanaber just ordered some Lucy brand pocket capris. Hoping they work out - it's really hard to find running pants with good pockets. Run this morning ended up only being half my planned amount. TOM complications - I'll spare the details. Had to have my husband come get me. :s I'll try again Tuesday for a longer run. So,…
  • Yes, that's what I'm using. I have a really hard time with intervals and changing my pace but I'm new at that so hoping it gets better. @WandaVaughn, our halfs are just a week apart - mine is November 12 and my first as well. What is the name of yours? I like to look them up and see the courses. Mine is the Monterey Bay…
  • @Andy504 welcome! @girlinahat, hugs to you - hope you're ok from the crash and so sorry about the loss of your pet. Losing pets is so hard. This morning's run was a quick 3 miles. My training plan had me warm up for 10 minutes, run 12 minutes at my fastest pace, and then cool down for 10 minutes. But then the app didn't…
  • I would second doing an actual training program to increase stamina, which will likely have you running fewer days per week. I'm currently training for a half marathon and my week usually has runs of varying lengths and paces. For instance, my last week was 4.16 miles at 10:44; 8.46 at 10:56; 3.25 at 9:46; 4.49 at 10:23 so…
  • Tried posting a pic but was too big. Anyway my wine glass has ounces and calories right on it.
  • @shanaber, that's hilarious - running while on a conference call. If you can do that, is it really necessary? (I think about 90% of the one's I'm on are pointless and I would be better off running - would anyone even notice?)
  • Mine is 11/12/17 so we're just a week apart. Week two of my training plan - using one from Map My Run. It's kind of cool because it based my plan off my run history and does these 12-minute tests after which it adjusts. LOL. Welcome! "Not dying" is usually my main goal! Good for you!
  • It's only August 1st and there are so many posts! Welcome to those just joining! I'll set a goal of 75 for August. This morning's run was 4.16 at 10:44 min/mi. MTD: 4.16 / 75
  • Just to finish out the month: Total of 80 miles completed. Goal was only 60. See you all in the August thread.
  • I have no problem throwing away food. We have a lot of parties and end up with a lot of food I don't want. I ask people to take stuff but if they don't in the trash it goes. Especially if it's something that's going to take up a lot of my meager calories.
  • 3.25 miles for me this morning at a pace of 9:46 per mile. July to date: 71.49 / 60 (I obviously low-balled my goal.) I'm finding myself with some conflicting goals - or too many goals, I guess. I want to run faster and do 5k in under 30 minutes, I want to run farther because I have my first half-marathon in November, and…
  • I'm 5'4" and getting from 155 to 135 was relatively easy over about a four-month period. I stayed there for quite some time because I had a lot of life happening and decided to maintain until things calmed down. I'm now down to 130 but that 5 pounds took around 3 months. I'd like to get down even more but I'm also training…
  • I use MapMyRun and am also doing the 1/2 marathon training plan. :# I just have to back out some of the calories because it overestimates quite a bit according to my HRM. @Sliedur, congrats on finishing the C25K! Yesterday was rest day (from running) so went for a nice 16-mile bike ride. This morning I got in a nice 4.49…
  • @Orphia, love those leggings! @RespectTheKitty, no great advice here but I'm sorry you're having to go through that. I hope you get some helpful advice and are able to find a balance. Not sure if I'll get in a run today or not. I'm going to try for 8+ miles again on Friday so if I do it'll be a short one. I'm thinking…
  • @KatieJane83, wow, Embrace the Suck is right. Glad you're feeling better and so impressed that you actually did that. Oh, and I think we tie our shoes the same way. Man, was that an eye-opener when the lady at my running store showed me there was more than one way to lace shoes! @PastorVincent, listening to The…
  • @scarlet67 and @Arctic_Chick welcome!! @cameronheel, Happy Anniversary! No run for me today, may do some other cardio or weights later. Happy Monday!
