NROLFW was my first weight lifting program. I guess I was hoping that weight lifting would magically rev up my metabolism so that I wouldn't have to be as careful with what I ate...but it didn't work that way. Still loved the program but didn't see any weight loss. If your weight is the same, but you're losing inches, then…

I started lifting with NROLFW. The authors just released a new book called "Strong", which I've read but not done the program. It's more progressive than NROLFW (you start with goblet squats rather than back squats) and is updated based on how research has changed since NROLFW was published. There are at least 2 NROLFW…

I've been hiking for a while in just normal workout clothes: running shoes, running capris, and a "technical" fabric shirt (hikes up to 10 miles). I have a Nathan hydration vest for water. I recently switched to Merrell Siren Sport 2 hiking shoes, but I think the improvement is minimal over ordinary running shoes. The…

Check out budgetbytes.com The recipes are relatively healthy, though not necessarily "diet" recipes, and sometimes I go through and cut out some of the carbs and oil and double up on veggies. Never made anything bad off that site though. Because it's budget-friendly, I usually have most of the ingredients on hand (no need…
