I've been using it for the last 4 years and have lost almost 40kgs. I haven't logged continuously, but try to keep a rough idea of my calories most of the time and I'm slowly chipping away at the last 5kg. It's MFP that is the main reason for my success, it works!

Gin and soda - 80ish cals a glass

A few of my favourites: - cheese! I just portion out 25 grams, but it into little pieces and put it in a box to snack on when needed - sour cream dip with veggies. I added taco spices or just chilli sauce to sour cream and dipped in celery, radish, cucumber etc - avocado with some lemon or dressing - yoghurt with peanut…

Being hungry is horrible and can set you off track, so maybe just plan on having a mid morning snack. A tub of yogurt or some cheese and crackers, some cottage cheese and celery or a banana or something, just to keep you going a little longer. I eat a decent size breakfast and am absolutely starving by lunchtime (even when…

I'm still here too, in Melbourne - It's been almost 3 years now, not of continual logging, but I'm trying to log in most days at the moment. I hit my goal weight a few weeks ago and have lost about 33 kgs. The aim for 2014 is to continue losing another 5 (ish) kgs and increase my muscle tone, strength and fitness. I've…

I have recently started doing loads of classes at the gym, with great success. I would really recommend you try any and all of them. Prior to the classes I was doing cardio and weights in the gym 3-4 nights a week, and was constantly struggling to get through the workouts because I found them boring, and had a little voice…

I rarely eat meat and manage to have a pretty decent amount of protein every day. I get this mainly from eggs, cottage cheese, yoghurt, peanut butter and tofu. There is so much you can do with these foods, you can make loads of sweet or savoury dishes or just eat them plain.

A banana or apple with peanut butter Cottage cheese and crackers or carrot sticks Boiled eggs Cereal and milk Yoghurt, banana and honey Chickpeas. I'm in love with them, so just eat them out of the can with a bit of S&P, but if you roast them in spices they are delicious

Soaked in hot water for a while and then blended up with banana and walnuts. It makes a butter like spread that is devine!!!!!! Awesome on apples, or spoons, or fingers......

Interesting ideas - Thanks. Seems like I'm stuck with them until the rest of me gets smaller - Oh well, there are many worse things I could have.....

I'm on a bit of a simple friuit and veg week, trying to get right back to basics, so my dinner's pretty boring, but nutritious. Veggie and cabbage soup (of infamous diet fame) and homemade beetroot dip with carrot and celery sticks and a few crackers.

I make really tasty fish burgers, I just blend up some white fish fillets, spring onion, garlic, lemon zest and egg white. Fry them up and serve them in wholegrain rolls with salad and homemade tartare sauce (low fat mayo and pickles). Yum Soup is also very popular with my toddler. She loves chicken and corn, minestrone…

It's also known as Bircher Muesli - Google it for lots of alternate recipes. I make it by just soaking the oats in water overnight, then in the morning I mix in yoghurt, grated apple, cinnamon, wheatgerm and LSA. Super Delicious!!!!

Everyone's given you good tips. I'd also check out other people's food diaries to get ideas, it works well for me, and gives me new ideas... Friend request me if you want, I cook almost all my own meals, and make healthy low-cal snacks. I do have the odd low-cal yoghurts or processed cheese and things, but mostly make my…

Soups are great - You can make up a big batch then freeze them into individual portions and use whenever you like.... A few of my favourites are - Spicy Red Lentil, Cauliflower, Leek and Potato, Corn, Minestrone, Sweet Potato and Pumpkin... I basically wait until the end of the week, the day before I go shopping again, and…

It depends how old you little one is and how often you are feeding. You can actually log it into your food diary and it will subtract certain number of calories. Look up breast feeding or nursing (i cant remember which one) in the food diaru and you can work out what is best for you....

I think you are on the right track, well done! Another good thing to do, is when you do manage to cook something, make it enough to serve 2,4 even 6 meals, and make it something you can freeze. That way you only have to cook once, but will have enough food in your freeze to last for other meals. This works really well with…

I have something awesome to pick at! Pomegranate. I just have half while sitting in front of the tv, it takes ages to eat, tastes yummy, is low in calories (maybe 50? for half) and has got lots of good things in it.

I'm obsessed with beetroot at the moment. I love it!! I've been roasting it with cauliflower, onion, garlic and sweet potato and having it as a roast veg salad with some lentil and maybe even feta. Another delicious thing I've been making is a beetroot dip. I boil up the beetroot until tender then peel them. And then…

I spent a bit of time brain-stoming a whole bunch of things that I could use in a plan and listed them under bf/lunch/dinner/snacks. I went to the library and flicked through some healthy eating cook books to get new ideas and searched the net. That gave me a decent list of meals that I could use and then when I'm making…

I think a really useful thing to do is to plan out your meals for the week before you go shopping. That way you buy what you need and don't have to throw out heaps of un-used foods. It also stops you from getting to the evening and going 'what am I going to have for dinner?' and then just opting for something processed and…

When I first decided to really eat well I did plan every meal and snack for the week. Infact prior to starting I spent some time online and in the library reading lots of healthy eating recipe books, and taking notes for recipe ideas. I had a list of breakfasts/lunches/dinners/snacks that I intended to make. It only takes…

To try something different you can buy big sandwich size crackers and rice cakes. I've been eating mountain (flat) bread), it's not as delicious, but still a nice wrap for a sandwich, and instead of needing 2 pieces you only need the one... Pancakes??? Make you own savoury (ham, cheese, corn etc) or sweet ones (apple and…

Hahaha - that's awesome!!! I had to do something similar with the jar of peanut butter. I couldn't stop eating it, every time I opened the pantry it would scream at me to have a finger-ful, so I had to throw it in the bin, but I also had to make sure I took the lid off, because otherwise I too could have been tempted to…

I have it once everyweek or two and just make sure that I measure out 1 cup of cooked pasta and then have bucket loads of sauce on top. I make a sauce with heaps of veggies in it (ratatouille) and sometime some meat and can generally afford the calories to have some cheese on top too, and would always be under 500 calories.

I made the most delicious meal last night. I sat there eating it and thinking, 'if this is the way to lose weight, then I can keep this up forever!' I roasted up some beetroot, sweet potato, cauliflower, pumpkin, onion and garlic, then I started my plate with some mixed lettuce, and some cucumber and capsicum and cherry…

Thai's do some delicious salads. Larb is wonderful, there is an awesome beef salad, I've had a duck one, a seafood one, and they would all be lowish in calories, and very tasty...
