  • That is a very good way to think about it! Perhaps I'm in need of a change in perspective! :-)
  • I came into this thread to recommend the skinny taste Mediterranean recipe, and someone beat me to it! So, I'll second it. I make it several times a week as lunches!
  • Holy moly you look amazing! Great job!! :OD
  • My favorite chip substitute lately: Carrots with hummus. Carrots give the crunch, hummus gives the salty/savory (and the flavor variation). The carrots take longer to chew and you feel FULL before you can over eat. If you DO overeat, you've over eaten on something with nutritional value, so it's the lesser of two evils.
  • When I am having a hard time with self control, I find it is usually because I am not connected with my goals. If I notice I'm losing control, I'll remind myself what I want, why I want it. If the goals I set are no longer what I want, i'll change them to something more exciting to me in that moment. Simply telling myself…
  • Just made them, per recipe, and got 92 cals per cookie. But, YUMMY!
  • ooooooooooooooh bump bump!!
  • I'm 5' 7", CW 180.2, size 14 and heavier on the bottom. Never been this weight as an adult, so no clue what I'll be when I get to GW! From the sounds of the previous posts and the knowledge that I have a medium to large frame, I'll get no lower then a size 10 I'm sure!
  • Just finishing up the last of week two today and tomorrow! The week 1 & 2 DVDs were not quite challenging enough, so I'm very much looking forward to weeks 3 & 4! Cannot wait to see some results!!! :0)
  • I'm a mere two pounds away from losing an elephants penis! Win!
  • Have you considered ordering peanut butter, couscous, quinoa etc online?
  • I also started this May 20th, finished Workout #2 today! I am surprised at how doable the first 2 workouts were, but Jillian keeps talking about how this is the EASY part so enjoy it while we can....I have never successfully completed a workout plan from start to finish, so I'm super motivated and super excited to see this…
  • Nah, I like to keep MFP friends and IRL friends separate. I share too many personal details about my weight and stats to invite people I see face-to-face along for the ride. I LOVE having the MFP support, and I feel like I CAN share more with my MFP friends because there is a nice level of anonymity here. I can be more…
  • Ok this is gonna sound crazy. But lately, I make a batch of 5 minute oats and I put a tablespoon of nice cold jelly in the center. I enjoy the mixture of hot and cold, the sweetness of the jelly helps with the cravings, and it takes longer to eat, so by the time I'm done, I'm full and satisfied. Full from oatmeal, which…
  • My coworker brought in these portabella mushrooms with grilled chicken, spinach and a little bit of cheese. Hearty and delicious!
  • I feel like I'm doing pretty ok, because I read this and already knew and was doing everything mentioned! Woot! Bumping this because its a handy reference for TDEE and such. Thanks for this post!
  • In 10 days, I'll hit day 365. I'm here for the long run! Feel free to add me!
  • Because it can't be said enough, GET A NEW DOCTOR. I would also be considering reporting her. That is downright dangerous advice.
  • Go to iTunes and listen to a few episodes of the podcast Fat2Fit radio. These guys revolutionized how I view diet/excercise and they are the reason my ticker says "53 pounds lost." I cannot even imagine I would ever stop doing what I'm doing to live my healthy lifestyle, and I have them to thank. Check. Them. Out!!! (and,…
  • I remember the feeling! I'm now in the middle of the track to "normal weight!" Good for you, keep fighting the good fight!!
  • Regular Pikes Roast and a splash of skim milk. MmmmMmMm!

  • I think another question the OP had that has yet to be addressed is how to avoid temptation if she does hand out candy. I'd agree with the above posters...let the parents do the policing. But if you're going to give out candy and you can't pick something you won't snack on, then I'd suggest getting a treat for yourself for…
  • I agree with meggonkonk on this one. The goals I've set up recently that got me focused have NOTHING to do with the scale. I signed back up for kickboxing, which is exciting and challenging, and I love how strong it makes me feel. I found this really awesome rock climbing place and after I complete the next 5 week course…
  • Its an insult buried in a well-meaning comment. I've gotten it before, and it made me very angry too. The people who say that stuff in my experince are the naturally skinny types who just don't get it. Just push past it, their ignorance is not worth the trouble you'd waste worrying/seething over it. Use it as motivation,…
  • How are your goals? Short term, long term? I find that when I lose interest in my goals, everything else unravels at the seams. I'm just re-orienting my goals myself, because I've had the same 3 weeks you have. But I'm re-evaluating my goals, and finding short term goals that are exciting to me and the motivation comes…
  • Yahoo.com! And every time one of acts weird or goofy, we remind each other of the fact that we met on the internet! :OP
  • I'm shaking a stick at this!!! Because its awesome!! :OD Thanks for sharing!!
  • If I eat it, it goes in the diary. It would only hurt myself in the long run. Try to understand that everyone has bad days and everyone has good days. We are not perfect!! If you're having a hard time not 'cheating' why don't ease into it a bit more? Try setting a goal, like '3 days this week I will not go over my target…
  • I have a BodyMedia Fit which does not gather Heart Rate data, so unfortunately I cannot help you with this question. But you generally get more views if people comment, so I'm commenting to help bump the topic for you. Plus, I'd be interested in the answer!
