So, since you have limited income and unable to offer monetary incentives, maybe you can offer your son incentives such as expanded privileges or freedoms he can earn as he succeeds at eating healthier even if only starting out small. You could try small things, like, have him eat apples or strawberries rather than cookies…

WOW, that's great.

Have you had your thyroid checked lately? There could be improper thyroid functioning causing your weakened feeling. The tiredness could be a indicator of other health matters too, like perhaps anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, or lots of other things, some of which are major things, other are minor things. I urge you to…

1. I snack on a half cup of plain, no butter air popped popcorn. 2. You might also have a handful of mixed nuts, about 15 pieces. 3. Chopped veggies (broccoli, carrots, zucchini, cauliflower, etc) with a maximum of two teaspoons of hummus are good as well. If you don't make your own hummus, read the labels carefully to…

Mine always comes down to getting more sleep. If I could do that, I'd be so pleased.

This set of FAQs is specifically about using the app: https://support.myfitnesspal.com/hc/en-us/categories/360001951372-Using-the-App

The My Fitness Pal FAQs are very robust and I think are helpful. Please review them for additional help.

I love asparagus. Sounds delicious.

I struggle to get enough sleep. On average I get about four hours of sleep nightly. Doesn't matter what time I go to bed. I always wake up after about four hours and I lay there till it's time to get up for the day. At least I get rest. I stay in bed meditating.

Scroll down to see a nice list, if you don't want to read the whole article. This is very nice. The Vegetarian Resources Group. Lots of great ideas. https://vrg.org/nutrition/protein.php https://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.php

I won't say it is all due to My Fitness Pal, but I lost 62 pounds.

You can safely lose about 3 pounds per week. So, your goal is definitely doable. Wish you the best.

The one I'm working on is getting more sleep. Sleep is an important tool in the weight loss journey. I find good sleep doesn't happen by accident. You have to create an environment for better sleep. So, I'm lying down earlier, refraining from eating or drinking close to bed time, meditating, and putting down the phone and…

I'm committing myself to no calorie beverages for seven days, starting today, and primarily the only caloric beverage I consume is coffee. I think it'll be an easy challenge.

One I've heard from time to time is, "Are you okay? You aren't sick are you?" Some people think you can only lose weight consistently if a disease made the weight fall off.

Hopping on the scale too often can get you a little discouraged if the number doesn't move like you think it should. It's better to focus on other indicators of your progress, such as how you look in the mirror or how your pants fit or the fact that you can button your favorite sweater now when you could barely get in on a…

I lost 45 pounds since 1 January. It's not easy, but it is possible. I didn't do anything magical. I only paid attention to calories (via food and drink), increased my physical activity, and cut out added sugar and sodium. If I want a snack, I incorporate it into my daily eating plan. Meal planning is key to it all. As I'm…

Something people sometimes forget to consider is how beverages can derail your progress, and I am not even talking about alcohol or sodas. Fruit juice is a big one. Lattes are too (even sugar-free lattes). A tall Starbucks sugar-free latte with almond milk substituted for dairy milk can add saturated fat, sodium, sugar,…

Me too. I dropped my pounds so quickly and effortlessly when I cut out alcohol. Not only is the alcohol big on calories and adds lots of sugar to my diet, it caused me to crave unhealthy, high calorie snacks like chips, crackers, and caused me to lose my willpower. Alcohol was evil to me, and I'm glad to kick it far away.

Excellent......the first of many. YoooHooo!
-
Took me about six weeks, through a combination of smart eating and increased physical activity.

They don't tell you that there is no end game. You have to make changes forever, for the rest of your life. If you don't, then you'll go right back to where you were before the weight loss.
-
Perfect. That’s great. I like your list of things. Those are a problem for many people. The two biggest things I stopped doing is: (1) I stopped drinking alcohol; and (2) I cut out junk food, which includes my worst enemies like potato chips, corn chips, tortilla chips, cake, pie, and crackers. Once I cut them out, I saw…

Sodium is hard to manage, but so is sugar, at least for me it is. Many foods naturally come with sodium and/or sugar, and I'm not even talking about the added sodium or added sugar. Some people will say there is good sodium and bad sodium....good sugar and bad sugar. But when you want to cut it out, from my point of view,…

Great job. Yes, there are so many other ways to chart your progress than using a scale. Photos are a wonderful way. Keep it up!
-
Excellent. That is great motivation for everyone on here, but most importantly, I know how this motivates you to keep that momentum. Congratulations.

When you stroll past a mirror and have to do a doubletake and ask, "Umm, who is that?" Liking what you see after periods of not feeling moved by it is the greatest NSV.
-
I never do. I see my progress in other says without using a scale. A few months ago, I gave my scale away.
-
They say, "You lost a lot of weight. Are you sick."

I'm dismayed at your doctor. Many doctors are, unfortunately, not very supportive or encouraging when it comes to their patients' health and fitness goals. Frankly, for some of them it's in their best interest to keep people UNhealthy. :(
