I do a 12 hour fast M-F. Basically I stop eating at 9pm and don't eat anything until 9am the next day. This is pretty easy to do since I'm sleeping most of the time. My dr. suggested expanding it to 16 hours to get the full benefit but I workout in the morning and I think eating after exercise is needed. I cannot move…

I agree with your assessment of Medtronic's cases. I would not get a case if I were you. I think to prevent the crack the best thing to do is keep the pump in a more stable temperature range. Maybe keep it closer to your body when in the cold? I wouldn't spend much time worrying about this since Medtronic will replace it…

So, I've been using the 630G for a few weeks now. Its ok. They added a ton of safety features which probably the FDA made them do but they are pretty annoying. For example, say you want to bolus. You program the amount you want to take and hit ok. Then the pump asks you again if you are sure you want to give yourself a…

Also while the new pump is larger its not much bigger. This is a non-issue for me. Also if anyone had the 700 series Medtronic pumps I think this new model is smaller than those.

It seems that the Contour Next 2.4 has the added ability to program a bolus with the 630g pump. I didn't think that this was going to be a useful feature but I have since used it several times and it works really well. Its kind of nice to not have to reach for the pump and push a bunch of buttons to give a bolus you can do…

Right. But they have done work and developed another version of the Contour Next. Contour next came out in 2010 (I think, I participated in a trial to test that meter before it was released so have been using it a really long time). It links to Medtronic's pumps. With the release of the 640G they released the Contour Next…

I think they changed the Bayer. The 630G comes with Contour NextLink 2. I would assume that the 760G would also come with the Contour NextLink 2. If this is true it might explain the change in accuracy although as you said nobody has explained this!

I'm not all that impressed either. I ordered it only because my current pump is having a button error and since I need a new one anyway (button error can't be fixed) may as well get the new one. The issue for me with this is that it only uses the 3.0 ml reservior which means its bigger. I use the 1.8ml now and only fill it…

Trying to build a phone app so not only the T1D is alerted but possibly caregivers are also notified that the T1D might need to take action so they can assist if needed.

Just be honest with your endo. They can't help you if you aren't honest. If they tell you, you aren't compliance then explain to them why. If they refuse to listen find someone else but usually they listen if you have a good reason for doing what you do. My endo makes suggestions and I tell her if I plan to follow or not.…

I would agree with everything Midwestern said. Also I would tell you to do what you think works best for you. I think its hard for any dr. because every patient is different. I find it easiest if I eat a consistent amount of carbs each time I eat. That way basal calculations and fluctuations are the same. I also try to…

Yes, I am also always hungry.

I love RXBars. I don't eat them often because they are pricey. When I do eat them its a snack. For me meals are big 500-600 calories.

Did it at 6:00am. Didn't get past the first round. Did 74 reps. Overall I'm happy with how I did. I just learned DU in the past month so getting 50 was huge for me.

I didn't even come close to my Valentine's goal. I gained 2 pounds. Anyway, trying to turn the trend around in March. Still having green smoothies but I need to work on more veggies during the day and less chips, bread, etc...Small steps right?

Tillamook plain and simple greek is very low carb. Great snack. I also like the trader joes 2% greek yogurt. Also low carb. I often mix with strawberry pea protein (no carbs) which gives it a nice sweetness when I want something sweet.

I'm ready to get back on track. I have been feeling sorry for myself which leads to my making excuses and eating junk food. My new goal is to lose 2 pounds by valentine's day. Hopefully can turn that into a 2 pound loss per month moving forward. I'm trying to eat more veggies and switched up breakfast to a green smoothie…

Almost got it figured out. Not sure why but my dawn phenom seems to have miraculously disappeared in a matter of days. Now just doing a flat basal rate for 24 hours. Blood sugar upon waking was 68 instead of 50s and I think with further reductions in basal I should be in the low 90s tomorrow.
-
This is annoying and crazy strange. Usually as soon as I wake up I rise. Not today, been hovering in the 50s even with temp basal of 50%. That was after I reduced my basals and still have to do a temp basal to try to bring it up. Also ate breakfast and lunch without a bolus. Granted my meals only had 20g carb but that…

I'm type 1. I am new to keto and so far not very good at it. I am hardly ever in ketosis due to eating to many carbs. I expect it gets easier the longer I stay with it. Like emiand2009 said my insulin requirements are much less when I eat less carbs and my blood sugars are much more stable. Great for diabetics.

I do whey immediately following my workouts. I find it spikes my blood sugar but I dose for it. I have tried BCAAs and don't like them. I found that they made me jittery but I think they would give you the energy you are looking for. I am afraid to try creatine. I am also using collagen protein to help with joint pain…

Jamie, like you said I don't think I'll actually try this as hard liquor isn't really my thing. Also the only time I drink is in the evening after all of my tasks for the day are done. Usually at the end of the day is not when I am chasing a high. However I do drink wine very frequently and I do wonder if the alcohol keeps…

7:33 Rx completed 8/13/2015. My pullups need work if I ever want to get under 7:00. This was a 23 sec PR so at the moment I'm happy with this.

I log them as a low blood sugar meal. I can't say I'm always accurate. I have also been told that the body sees a calorie as a calorie and will store it as fat if there are too many. We don't get any breaks just because we need the glucose. I use glucose tablets but also use regular food to treat to help keep my budget…

I also have Hashimoto (just diagnosed 1 month ago) and PCOS and have been struggling for ages to lose weight. Low carb eating is the only thing that seems to work for me. It is my understanding that once the hormones are regulated the hair will come back on its own. Birth control was not even suggested for me and I'm 37.…

Just went back to the fat loss doctor. He was happy with my progress over the past month since I lost half a pound of fat and gained 1.5 pounds of muscle. It usually takes a long time to build muscle and 1.5 pounds is a lot especially for a female who hasn't added any extra weightlifting to her daily routine since starting…

today is day 3 for me. I'm still trying to figure out how to do this and could use support.

Jamie, Congrats on the good news! What a huge relief :)
