Hi me!

By starving your body on a detox diet, you could actually impair your body's ability to detox itself. Delicious irony. Although I'd prefer delicious food, and skip the juice diet.

1 1/2 cups of the mix, dry, is 840 calories 1 egg is 70 calories 3 tbsp oil is 360 calories So if you prepared and ate 1 1/2 cups of the mix according to the recipe, you ate 1270 calories, not counting any syrup or other toppings.

I'm willing to make new friends, but only if I get to keep the old. 'Cause, you know, gold and silver and all that. Add me!

This is an excellent idea and should be implemented.

If you don't have an HRM, use this formula: Running: [your weight] x 0.63 x [miles run] Walking: [your weight] x 0.30 x [miles run] source: http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single

You, sir, are responsible for me snorting loudly at work. Thankfully, I was able to play it off as a sneeze.

Dwayne Johnson does not weigh more than Calista Flockhart, because 1 lb. of Dwayne = 1 lb. of Calista. Nothing weighs more than anything else. Everything is meaningless.

My flip belt came a couple weeks ago, and I LOVE it. It fits snugly, and it holds everything I need (phone, keys, credit card, etc.) It's comfortable enough that it can hold a big set of keys against my hipbone and I won't even feel it while I'm running. The downside is if you like to access your phone/iPod during the run.…

Swell idea. I'm 26, looking to lose another 25-30 lbs. Maybe. We'll see when we get closer. The main idea is just to be less squishy. Feel free to add!

This is not true. http://thinkprogress.org/world/2014/03/31/3420829/women-marine-training/ Here's an article from a very progressive source to that effect. This is largely true, but doesn't apply to front-line roles, which I thought was the issue here. Zing!

Without commenting on the merits of the post, I must ask: What equal rights did he purport to deny?

My FitBelt arrived last night. Today is an off day, so I'll be trying it out tomorrow (treadmill, just to test), Friday (outdoors), and then Sunday and Tuesday (5Ks). But just putting it on in the living room and jumping around for a minute, I love it. Doesn't slip or slide up or down, my phone and keys fit easily, and…

No, "correlation does not PROVE causation" would say exactly that. "If there is causation, there is correlation. If there is no causation, there might be aberrant correlation. If there is observed correlation, there might be causation. If there is no correlation, there is no causation. Correlation implies, but does not…

Except the phrase "correlation does not imply causation" doesn't have variables. It has two concepts, or two phenomena. You're conflating example with definition. Also, if you're going to post contradictory things, then I'm sort of forced to pick and choose, right?
-
Exactly. Correlation does suggest causation. No, it doesn't prove it, and your shark example shows that. But it does suggest/imply it, and then we look deeper into the data (often in the form of our experiences) to infer actual causes. I mean, from what do we infer causation, if not correlation? But I'm home from work now,…
