I'm free for that! I'm an undergraduate and a friend of mine is constantly munching on crisps and chocolate and chips and chinese food, she is the thiniest thing! I tend to either invite my friend back for lunch or eat in my accommodation usually so I can keep track :)

In the nicest way I see his point. My boyfriend is also losing weight, but I'm much more subtle and don't openly complain about calories, I just inwardly eat it and fit it into my calories or leave it, opting for something else. My boyfriend used to constantly say the word calories, making me feel a bit inadequate that I…

Worse experience, picking up a bunch of really nice clothes at a decent price, getting really excited. Not one item fit me right... My arms looked too big or my stomach was clear, or back fat! Was even worse when I noticed all this in the clothes I already have! Slowly getting there, no more detesting myself in the mirror!

Same! I have a wedding in April to go to and that's even more motivation- to look good in my clothes because I know there are going to be cameras everywhere. And we all know what they say about cameras.....

Still here! Decided I needed to track my food and was sick of not liking any of my clothes in my wardrobe on me anymore. Chose to do it after Christmas, not as a resolution, but didn't eat much over Christmas anyway since I was unwell.

I haven't had any effects of it speeding up my metabolism either way. Personally I'll probably have a cheat day once a week. My meals are definitely more balanced than they used to be and I generally eat what I want, just smaller portions and within my daily deficit. My cheat days are saved for when my boyfriend and I go…

How comes you just had ham? If you felt a little guilty you could have loaded up on salad to balance it out. With the salad it would have been more filling, keep you fuller, be easier to fit in your calorie allowance and you'd be less likely to snack because you've let yourself have exactly what you're craving. Give…

What about family activities and games? Bike-riding in the evenings? A go on a Wii? I'm not being funny but, sex? Walking a dog in the evenings as a family? Get a trampoline for the garden so everyone gets more active?

Thanks everyone, this has been really helpful! Feel much more confident now with restaurant food, great idea about checking nutritional info before I leave the house.

I love egg but have to mix the yolk and white together! I don't like them as much separately :)

I'll be the anomaly here then... I weigh myself every 3-4 weeks because otherwise I just know I'll obsess about it and it'll always play on my mind, but that's just what works for me. It reminds me this is long-term, am I going to weigh myself everyday for the rest of my life even the next couple of years- I seriously…

There's nothing wrong with giving yourself a break at the weekends. If you're have vegetables and salad and getting all your vitamins there shouldn't be problem. As long as you keep up your exercise and are consistent throughout the week you'll be fine. If you have an off-day food-wise, just pick yourself up the next day…

Try using a tape measure and scales, just because you aren't losing weight doesn't means you aren't losing the inches. Good luck!
