I'm 5' 6" Heaviest ever weight was 155, lowest ever weight (in adulthood obviously) was 119. In this current round of weight loss I'm trying to get from 139 to maybe 123ish. But I'm not necessarily going to be holding out for that number on the scale, what I'm really looking for is something resembling the body I had when…

In this case, wouldn't you simply pour out whatever amount you needed to use each time, weigh it in grams, and then record it in accordance with the nutritional info given in grams?

I posted about this in another thread about ice cream servings but I have come across at least one brand of ice cream where the serving is given in cups but then also given in mls rather than grams, which seems a whole lot like stating the obvious. But I suppose that's likely to be rare and only where you have those…

She didn't call herself a vegan though. She said she was eating a 80/20 vegan diet. I eat a largely vegetarian diet and if anybody asks me about it, that is how I will always describe it. If someone ever wants to get in my face about how I'm "not a vegetarian", all I can possibly say to that is "no *kitten*". Anyway, sorry…

According to my calculation, if I simply measured 125g of ice cream and called it a 125ml serving in my diary, I would be counting almost exactly half of the calories I had actually eaten of my brand of ice cream (it'll vary by brand). Your trick absolutely doesn't work for ice cream because of the air. In any case no…

I gather the body likes to hang on to a bit of water for muscle repair. In my experience running isn't something that'll bring that about but 30 Day Shred certainly could. You might think you're not doing much damage with your wee hand weights and that would probably be true, but squats and lunges and planks are all hard…

I feel your pain. When I am slim enough to have legs I like, my arms and chest start to look gross. In for answers to this too.

Quoting self to say I figured it out. Weigh empty container. Weigh full container. Divide difference by container volume and multiply by serving size. That is the serving size in grams. Of course it can't be exactly perfect unless you check the stated container volume is perfectly accurate but it's a darn sight closer than…

If it's of any consolation, I've been making the mistake of measuring ice cream in cup measures for the last while too. Normally I weigh things but the serving size given on my brand is "1/2 cup (125 ml)" - presumably direct from the Department of the Bleeding Obvious. So I'm not sure what I can do to convert that into a…

I was exactly like you before and Couch to 5K is what got me to run. It's a 9 week program to ease you into running. You start out with jogging and walking intervals and as the weeks go on the jogging intervals get longer and the walking intervals get shorter and less frequent. But as if by magic, it's like you're always…

I just finished 30 Day Shred yesterday. I did the 30 workouts over 35 days, i.e. one rest day per week. But I see no reason why you couldn't make it more like 4 or 5 workouts per week and still get the same results. I don't get why everyone insists on cramming it into 30 days. Personally I tried wherever possible to do the…

The people who mentioned that binging is often the result of deprivation have got it right. Bad days will happen, it's normal. One thing that could help is committing to always record what you eat, even if it's not according to plan. If you do that, you're owning it as it happens and then you're hopefully empowered to make…
