You're most likely going to get all kinds of different answers to this question - most of them will be from people trying to convince you that Diet Coke is responsible for every bad thing that has happened in modern history. Personal opinion, too much Diet Coke is the amount that interferes with your ability to eat…

Agreed. Seconded. I concur. All of the above! Warm up, work your muscles, then work your heart with cardio, and end up with light stretching. The things Kaitlin states about gym equipment are exactly the reasons why I don't use them. I want full body toning so that means I need to do large, compound movements that work…

I do apheresis donations as well and my best advice is to attempt to get the donation appointment in the morning, and to eat a very large breakfast. That way, if it's in the morning, I still have the rest of my day to work out calories, whereas if I were to donate in the late afternoon or evening, I only have a small…

Hahahahaha chocolate shakes are yummy. Yet the yummy factor is exactly the reason why I don't use them. I've never found shakes to be filling for me and I always want more afterwards. So, if I have to chew a chicken breast instead, I get fuller, faster. And to Karissa, I definitely think if you are eating only 1200…

My health is a priority in my life so I make time for MFP. It makes me wonder what my priorities were before! LOL

Sounds like you're right were you need to be calorie wise based on your doctor's recommendation. Right now your ratios are set at 55% carbs, 15% protein, 30% fats. Did your doc recommend where he wanted you getting your calories from? Many people go for a 40% carb/30% protein/30% fat ratio. More protein helps to increase…

I wonder if the wild yam cream would be a good idea since it mimics progesterone and the OP has medical issues regarding hormones. Probably a good idea for many, but in her case it might be a good idea to clear with a doc first.

Most recommendations I've read are for eating 70% of your lean body mass (how much your muscles, bones, organs, etc. weigh without fat) in grams of protein everyday for general health. For athletes and others that workout intensely, I've read they should eat 100% of their lean body mass in grams of protein daily. Example:…

You got it, girlie! I am a huge advocate of increasing calories as you begin to lose more weight. If you get your food right, and you're getting your exercise in, the right fuel can only maximize your performance.

Yes, I definitely eat carbs (fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.). I also try to get around 100g of protein a day and I take it all in the form of whole foods - no protein shakes. My ratios are set at 45% carbs, 30% protein, 25% fats, if I remember correctly. I eat a ridiculous amount of food, all throughout the day. And I…

6'0", currently 167 I eat around 1600 calories a day, and 50 - 100% of my exercise calories on most days A light day I burn 250/300 calories, a heavy day can be around 900 calories burned I work out 6 - 7 days a week
-
You can reset your daily and weekly goals by going up to "goals" and either choosing "custom" and selecting your calorie amount yourself, or going to "guided". If you do the guided steps, and you want to increase your calories, you'll need to change your weight goal to something more moderate, such as "lose 1 lb per week"…

The -93 is subtracting the calories you've eaten from food so far. So: Calories you're supposed to eat (1200) + extra calories you need to eat from what you burned in exercise (660) - calories you've already eaten for breakfast (93) = what you still need to eat today (1767) Does that make sense? Takes awhile to get used to…

I don't have any ideas for you, but there are some people on here looking to put on weight so bumping for you so they have a chance to see it. :)

Give it a shot. At this point, doesn't seem like (as long as you have medical supervision) you have much to lose from trying something different! :flowerforyou:

Have you visited a naturopath? Funny I should come across this thread today as I was just reading last night in a book about naturopathic nutrition that some doctors have had excellent results with megadoses of the B vitamins thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin in resolving migraines. I am not a doctor, but it may be…

So glad you guys found this thread again, and welcome back. I've got a new one, too... Even though I haven't yet reached my goal weight, I love that when I started my transformation there was not a single piece of clothing in my closet that fit me properly - everything was too tight, too short - and now, there isn't a…

Agreed! I get highly annoyed if anything conflicts with my schedule. LOL P.S. Just finished L1D8. Woo hoo! Getting way better at those pushups and the anterior raises.

Still doing it, still on Level 1. Had a few setbacks some days so I think I'm on Day 7 as of Tuesday. I'm going to give it a full 10 days before moving on.

I agree with one of the other posters who said that right now your problem is an emotional/psychological one and not one of will power or inability to be successful at weight loss. To an outsider, it sounds like you are viewing eating healthfully and exercising as work - something that you are required to do rather than…

I think that if your friend knows your history, she is probably just concerned. She also might not find fitness to be as much of a priority as you do. Everyone has different things that are important to them and that they are willing to put their time into. For instance, a friend of mine thinks that my working out and…

I'm hoping for Mayweather just so we can have Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. Vegas is always crazy on fight weekends, but that would be the party of the year. :)

Here are some previous threads about sports bras: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/84006-sports-bra?hl=sports+bras#posts-1155950 http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/86125-good-sports-bras?hl=sports+bras#posts-1225592 Personally, I like the Energie by Le Mystere, or the sports bra offered by Lunaire (Lunaire cup…

I didn't reach my full height or my full shape until I was at least 25. At high school graduation I was barely 5'10", in college, 5'11" and now 6'0"... and my hips/thighs have grown proportionately! What you're experiencing is totally normal, it just happens at different ages for different people. When you go back…

You're most welcome. Just to throw it out there, I had a doc one time who told me not to take prenatals for more than a year, and then to take a month or so off and start them again if you feel they're necessary. No idea the science behind it, just anecdotal advice from one physician.

My guess would be more that the prenatal would be causing it than the fish oil. If you're eating better, you're probably getting an adequate amount of the vitamins in a prenatal without needing to supplement. So you may have built up a very high level of the ingredients that are not water soluble. This happened to me a few…

Are you taking a multi-vitamin or mineral supplement? Could you be getting too much of any particular vitamin or nutrient? ETA: If you're taking a prenatal, I think this is fairly common.
