It's even sunny and warm in Scotland. What a joy to be wearing sandals and not welly boots ! It's my birthday today. I must confess I haven't been very good. The forecast is for lots of prosecco and cake over the weekend so I can't guarantee a loss this week.

Me too. I also find myself saying "good job" and "awesome" a lot.

Hi, I'm Suzanne and I'm in Edinburgh (sound like a blind date contestant!) I've been on MFP for over a year. Lost 52lbs and then reset my ticker earlier this year after bouncing up and down the same 10lbs all year. So I'm starting over. Really looking for some new friends for motivational chat. I've got another 58lbs to be…

That's amazing. I'm going to remember that when my alarm goes off on Monday morning and I decide not to go swimming at 6am. x

Hi, added you. Good to see you here. Must get over to The Nest more. See you here or there. S x

I too have cut down on carbs rather than cut them out completely. I've only just started this week so yet to see the impact. Remember there are carbs in various fruit and veg too so you can continue to get some carb intake by eating sweet potato which is a carb but low GI so not a refined carb. And although I've cut down…

Also not sure what I would do with them but i'd like to know where you can get them in the UK ? Thanks

I'm in Edinburgh. And live in Leith !! Never thought I'd find some Leithers on MFP. Happy to be added as a friend. x

i love sweet potato in any form. try making fries with parsnip too. And if you roast them tossed in a little olive oil and a teasoon of honey. Oh my, yum.
-
Me too. Oh and chocolate, cakes, biscuits and ice cream.

Hi and welcome to MFP. You've done the hard bit by signing up and deciding this is the beginning of your journey. Now you can let us on MFP help you stay on track and focussed. And when you're not we're here to help. I'll send you a friend request but you should join us in the over 300lbs club. It's the most wonderful…

Diet coke. McD's and BK. Chocolate bars (a variety of kinds and more than one a day!) My daily treat is normally a bagel for breakfast but a couple of people ahve mentioned them on here as a waste and have given them up so maybe that's the next think I'm going to cut out.

Can I just check if in UK 'corn beef' means same as in US ? Corned Beef would be in a tin. Is that what you mean ?

bump. So cold in Scotland today that I am definitely making soup this week.

There is a recipe for meatloaf muffins on here somewhere and they are fab. I made mine with turkey mince and hubby and toddler loved them.

I used to drink loads. Then cut down to one a day. For the past 2 months I've not touched a single drop. I just started drinking a litre of water with a touch of fruit juice in to give it some flavour. I've not been tempted to have the occassional one here and there. But I'm going on holiday soon and I know I'll have one…

Ooh I know that feeling. I have 2 pairs of knee high boots that I can't wear. I haven't tried them in a while but I'm pretty sure they won't fit yet. Good for you. Now you need to get a nice winter skirt to show them off.

I put in the weight I want to be to remind myself how I'm gonna look. I remember being at this weight a few years ago and I thought I looked kinda like the pictures they offered me ~(had 3 to choose from) But the clothes sizes were totally off. I was wearing much smaller clothes at that weight than the woman that have…

Rice pudding. Yeuch. It'sthe thought of squishy lumps in creamy hot milk. Stomach is turning just writing this. Also fake banana/strawberry. I'm OK with a real bananas and strawberries, love them. But banana flavoured yogurt, milkshake, ice cream. I could cry I fear it that much. My husband thought this was funny when he…

I'm impressed. Well done. It's never occured to me to order a kids meal instead of adult portion. It will now. Mind you in UK the kids options aren't that healthy (nuggets, pizza, fish fingers etc) but I'll def check kids section of menu. Also in UK not that many restaurants have nutritional info available. Unless it is…

I used to drink one can of diet coke a day. that was my evening treat along with a portion of something sweet. I still have my something sweet, so probably a little aspartame still, but I've cut out the soda. I'm drinking 1 -2 litres of water witha a little cordail in (on a good day I would only drin up to half a litre in…

I've been logging it as dancing, aerobic, ballet or modern, twist. I might look at cardio dance too as I feel the calories burned are quite low for me when I use dancing, aerobic, ballet or modern, twist.

I just went to my first Zumba class last night and loved it. I'm gutted I don't have time to fit another class in through the week (I work have a toddler and already have another evening out each wk for aquafit). Might try a dvd. Can anyone recommend a good one or are they pretty much the same ?
