  • Hey you ! I'm still here and still good for support and vice versa. Like you I've fallen off the wagon and put back on half of what I'd lost previously. So I've got 60plus lbs to go to where I'd ideally like to be but 40 would be fantastic. Are you still doing 16-8 ? pm if you need/want a chat. Glad to see you back. We can…
  • thank you so much for your response. Would you specifically recommend any of these for beginners ?
  • Oh my goodness you have had a lot to deal with. I had a very similar 2012 (my best friends husband died, I broke my foot while trying to help her with her children, spent 6 months on crutches, gained 40lbs, being made redundant) I also really struggled with depression- no wonder ! I did see a Dr about some anti-d's but it…
  • I've also done a lot of "down branding" recently. But, I refuse to give up Heinz beans. And little man would refuse anything other than heinz tomato soup or ketchup. But I have been buying asda smart price rich teas and digestives. Same for pasta, rice, tinned toms, garlic bread etc. But I recently discovered that you…
  • Traditionally I've never been very good at measuring inches, I just always go by the scales and my clothes. I will measure tonight so I can track for next week, although not sure I'd be expecting much of a change in inches in one week would I ?
  • Hi, I didn't reply to this before as i didn't have any agreement with the Dr. But I've just been approved for my next prescription and she was happy based on the following. Since October last year I have lost 24lbs. Which equates to about 10% of total weight lost. I need to go and get weighed by the nurse within the next…
  • that's encouraging Starbeck. I've been doing one or 2 miles most days (with exception of Sat and Sunday) and weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully I will see a loss. But you're right. Surely the fact that I have introduced this activity is better for me than nothing that I was diong before. I might try my first consecutive 2 miler…
  • Often if I'm over in sugar it's because of fruit. Which I always counted as "good" sugar. So unless I eat a tub of Ben and Jerrys and taht causes me to go over, I'm generally OK with a little over.
  • I'm in the UK too and just did my first Lesley Sansone walk last night. I broke my foot last year and this is an ideal low impact exercise for me. I just did a 1 mile walk on You Tube last night. I didn't realise I could get the dvd in the UK and thought You Tube was the best place to find her routines. I'll look on Ebay…
  • I do this too. I look and see if I've got any calories left and what treat can I have. Or a low calorie hot chocolate drink. Only 40 cals and it makes me feel like I've treated myself. Sometimes though the only way to deal with it is to do something completely unrelated to food. Watching a movie wouldn't work for me as I'd…
  • I'm in Edinburgh. i'm planning on Haggis and neeps and cutting out the tatties to reduce cals.

  • Sounds great thanks.
  • My Dr suggested that I only take with lunch and dinner as breakfast can easily be a low fat meal and this would make presciption last longer. Over this weekend I've taken two with my evening meal if I felt it was higher in fat that I had been having recently. Although I've been sticking to my calorie limit I wasn't making…
  • I've recorded a few things and so far when I've watched them back it has mainly been 30 mins of advertising for the workout book/dvd/equipment etc. For example the Jillian ripped in 30 that I recorded was exactly this. Might try again and look out for the programmes mentioned. Also have Love Film and never thought to do…
  • I got mine in december but I've not heard anything about them running low again. I hope not as I think they are keeping me accountable rather than actually assisting, and enhancing, weight loss.
  • It was definitely 120mg previously. But I don't have my prescription at hand to check right now if my new tablets are different. Admitedly I did have some higher in fat foods over the weekend and took more tablets than I had been prior to that and did notice some small side effects. Although doubling up may be the best way…
  • I've not skimmed all the answers but Caesar salad is such a hidden calorie salad. Croutons, cheese and dressing. Just becuase they are served on a bed of lettuce does not = low calorie !!
  • I hear your pain. i also have a husband who thinks salad is chicken servied with full fat coleslaw and chips ! My 4 year old isn't too bad but has little variety. So I often find myself cooking one thing for them and adapting it for me. We also have a tght budget. For example breaded chciken goujons with chips and coleswal…
  • Totally agree.

  • If you definitely want a curry make sure it is a tomato based sauce with no ceram or yogurt. Have a lentil dish and chapati on the side rather than rice and nan. I would personally have a vegetable tandoori with salad.
  • No idea how to load pics. Could you just put them on your profile ?
  • That is strange that you have been thinking similar to me. I'm definitely obese (although no one I know would agree but medically I am). I'm going to continue taking them for a while and see how I get on. If nothing else the fear of side effects may make me be good and not try to sneak the odd Fish n Chips etc. I've looked…
  • After a few weeks off over the festive period I've started back on my xenical yesterday. I put on 7lbs over Christmas so I effectively undid all my good work in December. Pretty annoyed at myself but hoping that the Xenical will help me stay accountable.
  • I'm aiming for 1500 daily total for maintenance. Only 300 cals before out for meal so I should have 1300 left. I'll also earn 200 cals from walking today too. Thanks
  • I can see by your ticker you are doing really well. Have you been taking it long ? I've used it in the past and it can be horrid, but I'm determined to stay low fat this time. It's easier with MFP to track the fat %. Any hints and tips ? x
  • I might log just to keep an eye on my calorie intake. So that I don't get to lunchtime thinking I've hardly eaten anything, but realising that half a tin of celebrations and chocolate orange is my whole days allowance !! That said, I'm not going to log alcohol. And not worry if I'm going over. It's once a year. I will be…
  • I've bought the Hairy Dieters recipe book. and they have a few lower cal curry recipes. I'm goingt o attempt one next weekend. But my friend made one last week when we were round for dinner and it was fab.
  • Agree, some of the US slow cooker recipes are just odd. Taco soup??? I use mine mostly for stew, chilli, bolognaise etc. I'm quite a bung it all in and fingers crossed approach. My absolute winner is bolognaise, I use some for spag bol and freeze the left over and use mixed with some cream cheese and pasta as a pasta bake.…
  • If it's my last meal every I'm having every course available. Starter - Some sort of goats cheese salad Fish - Langoustine cocktail with fresh baked brown bread and butter Main - beef wellington Dessert - Sticky toffee pudding or cheesecake of some sort. I can't decide. Cheese board and chutney with loads of crackers and…
