Hi - Busybee, you're right, having support is a great motivator to stick with it. I also agreed with the advice above that weight loss is 80% diet...and the comment regarding water.

14 pounds in 3 months is awesome! Good job!

This group sounds perfect to me! Please add me!

Wow, you look amazing! Thanks for posting your pictures!

Honestly, I think the most you can do is maintain a positive, supportive relationship. This means that you don't discuss the hot button issue of her weight. Let her know that she can come to you with any difficulty, Anything, and you'll be there for her. If she see's you as a trusted friend, perhaps she'll feel comfortable…

Post your progress on MFP & you'll be applauded and an inspiration to others. Good luck to you and keep up the good work!

Hey Sam, I have the same issue. One of the things I've noticed is that once I eat something sugary, I can't stop. However, before I've eaten anything sugary, I have more control. I'm an emotional eater, so my day can become sidelined easily. On the days that work for me, I'm really careful first thing in the morning to eat…

The binge has won each day since Monday. *sigh* Today's the day I'll win! I'll be checking in at end of day tomorrow or first thing on Sunday. To ensure a win, I've started my day with a protein smoothie & plenty of water. Sz: 0 binge: 4

Just found this group. I didn't know I had a problem until a couple years ago...Binging isn't something we see in the media unless it involves purging too. There's just not a lot of information out there. So I actually didn't know this was a problem for a very long time. I mean, I knew what I was doing, secretly overeating…

Hi there- I'm just finding this support group and I love the idea of naming the binge. Starting today, it's Sz against Tb. I won't really know who wins until today is over...but i guess I can log from yesterday. April 7th: Sz = 0 Tb = 1

Perhaps juicing would work for you... However, I really think you should work on your relationship with vegetables. They're a very important part of a healthy diet.

Sounds like you have a keeper! Hang in there, you can do this!

There's a blogger named Food Babe who advises against PB2, because of the processing. I just got some, but haven't used it yet. The ingredient list doesn't look too bad, so I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Here's the link for food babe. http://foodbabe.com

Your post is incredibly thought provoking…and I can relate to just about every response. Being a stress eater myself, I think the solution is figuring out other ways to deal with the stress, before the stress occurs. Easier said than done!

Hi there, I'm planning to start at the end of march. I'd love to join you!

This wasn't always a hard time for me. However, once I hit my 40's it has become very difficult to manage. I want to argue with anyone, eat everything in sight, and I can easily cry about something that happened 2 years ago. Thanks for the tips! One additional thing I've noticed is that if I consume extra calcium during…

Thanks for posting, these sound fabulous!

A banana with peanut butter is easy, fast, & filling. This is my favorite go to snack…if you're still hungry have an apple with additional peanut butter.

I'm 49 and have always been super active, never tried to lose weight before. Like another post, I think age has snuck up on me and without noticing I've gained a few extra pounds. I'd like to lose 20 by the time I turn 50, and trying to figure out how. The food diary on MFP is allowing me to isolate when I'm overeating,…

Exercising is a great way to enhance weight loss, but what and when you eat are also important. My starting weight and goal are similar to yours. Good luck!

Welcome! It sounds like you're on the right track. Good luck! ~Suze

I added you too. Would love to share mutual support on this weight loss journey.

Hi Dawn, I'm new at MFP too, and have an event tonight. I've already gone over my calories for the day. Yikes! I know I'll have at least a glass of wine tonight and I'm going to eat a light dinner before I go. Hoping to avoid empty calories at the event. I don't have any advice for you but wish you luck in monitoring your…

daelkin - I've also always been addicted to sweets. I don't know much about the science, but for me it's an addiction. Like you, I've noticed the same thing with dark chocolate. I eat less, feel satiated faster and curb other cravings when I've had several pieces of dark chocolate, mainly during/near TOM. Good luck…

Have you been successful with weight loss yet? Ideas to add to your mornings eggs: make an omelette with sautéed onions/gariic/kale/ mushrooms and any other veggies in your frig. When I'm close to the TOM, I usually incorporate eggs into my morning meals. At other times I have oatmeal in the morning with 1/2 banana,…

Hi Donna. Good luck with your weight loss goal. I'm trying to lose 20 pounds, but have never dieted before. I'm trying to learn how to break bad habits and incorporate mindful eating into my day.

Hi Lisa, I'm new to MFP, and I also have 20-25 pounds to lose. I'd love to be friends with you.

If you don't like vegies for snacks, you might want to consider apple slices with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Other snacks options are a small handful of almonds, or yogurt with granola on top. I usually try to plan out meals & snacks for the next day, after dinner, when I'm not hungry. Good luck to you!
