Right, but I'm not going to go around wearing the chest strap every day for the rest of my life. The FT7 you mentioned would be a workout only measure. As long as I have something that is more ore less consistent, as the reviews I was pointed to on this board seem to show, (regardless of being perfectly accurate) I get…

Thanks for the concern. As I mentioned in a previous post, I don't eat back my exercise calories, so I was more looking for a ballpark of relative intensity between workouts. I was more concerned about accuracy issues such as it stops counting, or it is extremely variable between runs which it doesn't seem to be based on…

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to go for the Charge HR. I don't need 100% calorie accuracy since I don't eat back my cals, just a ballpark or relative workout to workout differences. If I start doing any serious HRM based training I may spring for the Polar FT4! For someone with sleep issues, some sleep data might also be…

Good advice! When I'm home I actually like to cycle quite a bit (10miles a day) but I'm not home enough to justify the price! Not to mention the surge looks a little ... bulky? Like perhaps something I wouldn't actually want to be wearing every day. Thank you for the advice!

Hmmm thanks for the info guys! I'm leaning very slightly towards the Charge HR if only for the fact that I know myself, and as a college student I'm often running to squeeze in a workout, so fitting myself with that HRM band might not happen as often as it does. I'm a little confused as to why the Charge HR wouldn't work…

Junior as well, 100+ day streak, abroad at the moment but heading back in August!

I´m also looking to get some new friends in this thread! 21 5 foot 7 or 8 (depending on which nurse you ask at student health...) on a journey from258 to 135ish, and about 30 pounds down. I log regularly but I have an ankle issue from an injury in October that is keeping me from doing what I really want to pursue, which…

@Mayseye Eowyn's Challenge workout would be pretty much my ideal motivator haha.

Hi! 21f, college student, member of many nerdy fandoms (Star Trek, Whoverse, Tolkein )30 pounds down on a mission to lose about 130 and really in need of some more friends on my feed. 100ish day streak at the moment so I am on every day to support! Feel free to add me :)

Hey! In the same boat, I posted last year and got some really good advice here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1171975/college-dilemma-uncertain-calorie-counts#latest Feel free to add me :)

21, junior in college, almost 190 day streak at this point. Anyone is welcome to add! I've lost 40 so far, and have about 70 to go.
-
182 day streak, open diary. Add me :)
-
Thanks! Added you. TJ's is my summer indulgence and I'm loving it. During the academic year my scholarship covers a meal plan so I eat lots of lean protein (almost exclusively grilled chicken) and whatever veggie I feel has the least amount of oil, haha, so my diaries will be less interesting come August 18th.

Wow, I can't believe you lost 105! I've got 122 to lose total. Adding you now!

Thanks! Sent you guys requests :)

Thanks guys!

I've been on a huge dark chocolate + fruit kick lately. I've been doing 2 squares TJ's 85% dark chocolate (40 cals, a little goes a LONG way), 1 banana (About 100 cals) and 1 tbs peanut butter. Melt the chocolate with the PB, slice in bananas, mix together, and it's heaven. You can adjust the amounts of what you have…

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. To clarify, the workout we did was 3 sets of 10 reps with dumbbells (no barbells, maybe I should pursue that farther since I think that's where I feel even more likely to get hurt without instruction) of squats (have a hard time keeping my heels down on these. One explanation is that I…

Hi guys, Thanks for the help. I guess I'll tell her I want to lift heavy and do compound lifts, and hope she gives me something closer to what I was hoping for. I bought this personal training package so I could get comfortable in the weight room to the point where I could head back to university in the fall and know what…
-
Thanks for the response. So, technically what I was doing COULD be heavy lifting, or part of it? But the weights weren't heavy enough? Or should I really be placing more of an emphasis on "compound exercises?" Sorry for the questions. Total noob when it comes to strength/anything in the weight room.

Hi everyone, So sorry for dissappearing again. It appears that I'm actually a lot better at saying hello everyday when I've got school to give me a schedule. Still not losing. I've started cracking down and measuring better, and eating a MASSIVE amount of delicious fruit and vegetables but no loss last week and this week…

Mine has been dwindling too. Open diary, on a plateau, and today is my 175th day logging.

Forgot to say that I'm in for the July challenge. Going for my first run since getting hurt today, and combined with bike riding I think 90 is a good goal.

Hi everyone, Checking in because I sort of fell of the wagon for the weekend (I'd call it a cheat weekend, but I'm pretty sure that's not a thing). I had a friend visiting and even though we were really active (kayaking for 6 hours! Lots of walking!) we ate out for EVERY meal because her birthday was yesterday and she was…
-
Thanks. That makes me a little worried. I don't think I'm going to be able to convince anyone to come with me (too expensive/not fit enough are the excuses I've heard so far) and I only have four months. Hope it still goes okay.

Thanks guys... looks like I'll be doing TM in October!
-
One more question (sorry!) I'd say there's an 80% chance I'll be running without a team. Is that a problem for someone who won't be extremely fit? Do people feel left out/like they're struggling with obstacles a lot more, ore does it not matter? Thanks again. This has been really helpful.

Thanks for your help. I've decided to pay for 6 half hours of personal training this summer to help me evaluate what I can do strength wise. I've been meaning to start resistance training since January, but I've been too intimidated/worried about hurting myself lifting heavy that I've avoided it. Unfortunately I'll be in…

Thanks for the replies guys! I really appreciate it, especially since I've never met anyone who did TM. My leg is (theoretically) healed, and has been feeling completely normal during the high impact I've been adding back in. I walked 10 miles AFTER a Zumba class on Sunday (took me 4 hours round trip, with a few stops for…
