I think the commercial is stupid as hell. There's not a whiff of self-awareness, and it's over-the-top materialistic. But it's not aimed at me. It's aimed at a certain market segment. My guess is it will work well with that segment of consumers whom it's targeting. Also there's this:

Mrs Jruzer always asks me to make homemade chocolate angelfood cake with whipped cream for her birthday every year. And it's pretty darn good, if I do say so. Her grandmother made many angelfood cakes whipping the whites by hand. I cheat and use the stand mixer.

I'd hardly call anything under 250 kcal a cheat, personally. And there's no way it's a cheat if I make room for it in my budget. In the spirit of the thing, though, I just discovered these. I love mochi, so I think I gave out an involuntary grunt of happiness when I saw them. 110 kcal each.
