I'm 44 and it took me almost three months to see a few pounds move. I only wanted to lose 15-20 lbs so now I'm in my 6th month of calorie reduction and cardio and have lost 10 lbs. It is purely the KEEP GOING that got me here. Man its discouraging to not see results right away. Also now that I've lost 10 lbs I have to…

You know, I did everything exactly right for the first 7 weeks and saw nothing change and then all of a sudden it started coming off fast. Just hang in there, keep doing everything right and your body will adjust. That's my advice.

Hi Amy, I looked at your food diary and I can tell you straight away that the Special K breakfast cereal won't work for you. Pretzels, pizza, even with a thin crust, won't work. You may have to cut all refined carbs and even fruit sugars to get your blood sugar stable. Try switching to steel cut oats with some blueberries…

I believe it is a factor. When I was in my 20's all I had to do to lose 5 pounds was skip lunch. Now that I'm 44 it's taken me 2 months of hard slog and 1350 calories a day to lose 5 lbs and it's hard to keep it off. But, once you come to terms with that and realize you can't just eat everything you want because you used…

Let's see: Caffeine (including dark chocolate!), yogurt, citrus, avocado, bananas, strawberries (raw not cooked), etc. Also, triggers…

I can't really help you except to tell you to go to IIFYM.com and fill out their questions to determine your TDEE. Go to their IIFYM calculator. They will then offer a standard macro plan for your needs. You can enter the amount of calories you would like to eat in a day and it will do the math for you. Good luck!

YES, I do get like that. And I struggle with wanting to let myself have a break because my body is doing it's thing and wanting to stay in control and do what I want. I find I like to do weights vs. cardio when I feel hormonally charged like that, it seems to tire me out more if I really push. AND I will give myself an…

I gain about 3 lbs every cycle and it takes about 3-4 days after its ended for it to drop off. Every month. I do find it discouraging so I stop weighing myself for the week. Makes it easier.

Here's how I look at it: The time is going to pass anyway. Weeks and months are going to pass. You can either stick to it and know you are headed in the direction you want to be going in or give up. It took a long time to put the weight on and it takes a while to take it off. Underneath your old exterior is a new one…
