If any read my last couple of posts-I stated my carbs wrong. I was saying 25% of calories was carbs. WRONG WRONG I am sorry It is actually 25 net carbs not 25%. SORRY

Sorry - I stated my carbs wrong. I said 25% for carbs - actually not 25 % - it is 25 net grams of carbs.

I am also on a doctor recommend low carb. I eat only 25% of my calories in carbs. You can deduct the fiber to get net carbs, but only fiber not ( sugar alcohol) not sure if right word. I bought a bottle of ketone strips. I don't have to be really dark, only in the darker colors. Hope this helps.

I use MFP as my crutch. If I want to eat something I shouldn't, I come here for 15 minutes and read blogs and threads. I don't want my craving after reading the success and failures of others. Brings me back to reality. I do not want that nor need that to go in my mouth.

I know it is a February challenge but I have to tell you about the last 4weeks. I have lost 15 pounds and 13 inches. I was trying to keep my calories at 1200 with a carb % at 25%. The next 4 weeks I'm dropping to 20%. I'll see what happens. Is that how you do it?

Asking again??? When on Induction phase with 20 carbs are you suppose to watch calories also? I need to lose a lot of weight. I would like to start the Atkin diet tomorrow but don't understand how one can lose weight if your calorie intake is high.

I say mental illness because of their self esteem. I agree with you. You know if you are overweight. I think a lot of people stay overweight because society has made them feel unacceptable and worthless. Why try? It is easier to just ignore it all. That is why they need help not ridicule.

I'm in on this challenge. I hope it can help keep me motivated. I am at 286 and my goal is 40 pounds gone by May 23. I have recently had major surgery but have started to walk, a little. The stationary bike is next. My eating seems fairly controlled. I am doing a low carb and low calorie.
