^^ THIS!! e.g., I'm going out tonight, so I looked up the restaurant's menu and picked out what I want and logged it. Needed to eliminate 2 of my 3 snacks and have a light lunch, but I'm in my calorie goal and will have 2 glasses of wine. The times I get into trouble are when I eat then log afterwards. Pre-planning and…

Here in Philly, we combine these and eat a cheesesteak. :-)

Peanut butter Captain Crunch. MMMMM, still love all things peanut butter.

I log everything, good or bad. Even if I'm at a local restaurant and am just guessing, I take my best guess and log it. As others have said, it's educational, and helps you make better choices. Painful as it is, when you see what you'd weigh if you ate that way for 5 weeks should help guide your choices in the future.…

I do enjoy chips, but I've just been in the habit of not buying them from my "dieting" days of restriction. But I still don't buy them since, when I look at the calories vs the nutrition they provide (e.g. protein), I have a hard time fitting them into my day. I will rearrange my diary to fit in a cupcake or wine, but not…

I hear you. My boys are the same way, but now I plan for it. I will order their food, and just coffee for me. Then if they each eat half their sandwich,I'll eat the remainder, so there's my breakfast, and no food wasted. If they eat everything, then I order myself something. It's stressful and probably counterproductive to…

Good for you for opening up your diary. As others have said, you are going over calories (some days a lot, some not so much). And probably overestimating your exercise burns. I have twin boys almost 5, and I work full time, so I understand what it's like to be busy. We go out to eat a lot, and I eat plenty of fast food. It…

Oh, I am a movie buff! Just bought tickets for Noah for Fri night. See a movie Fri night, run 5k on Sat. Dilemma solved!

Just as an FYI, when you enter your info into MFP to set your goals, one of those is your age, so the calorie target you are given already accounts for age. So that's factored in already, and you don't need to lower it further.

I totally agree, Dan. When people are at the gym exercising their physical muscles, they need to also work on exercising their willpower muscles. One caveat would be that if someone is just starting out, I think it's fine to make it easier on yourself to get started by keeping certain foods out of the house. I've found…

I would love to "work out" with him.

I just got my first graze box and they are all tasty. The ones I had were almost all nearly 200 calories each and only 5g of protein, so I found it hard to fit it into my day and meet my protein goals. For 200 calories I can have a protein bar with 15-20 g of protein. For snacks, it depends on what you're looking for. If…

I have lost a good amount of weight following the advice of this man in his 30s you so rudely dismissed and demanded not post in a public forum. But I'm only 49, what do I know? I guess the weight loss will magically stop next year when I hit 50. Just because you started this post doesn't mean you own it - it's public, and…

I agree with almost all of this. I was never much of a juice drinker anyway so that is pretty much gone. Not big on drinking my calories! I do have some alcohol (wine), and small amounts of butter. I don't love doughuts enough to eat them much. I eat light mayo since I can't tell the difference. I would add to this list a…

So carbs turn into sugar, and sugar turns into fat, then what? Does fat turn back into carbs then the universe explodes? LOL.

I will think of this next time there are french fries nearby. Maybe it will help me resist. Don't eat potato poop!

You never know what's going on. Maybe she shared a meal with a vegetarian and her friend gave her her burger patty or something.

You were under your calorie goal and fit your Starbucks into your day. Bravo! No need to give it up, unless it keeps you from hitting your macros. But you got plenty of protein and the other macros look close as well. Stellar day!
