Great places in Joplin?? Haha...you're so funny! Really depends on what you like to do. If you like to eat and watch movies, you're set. We have lots of food options, plenty of Red Box machines and the movie theater. Shopping is just like you'd find in any other mid-sized town - we have a mall that has all the same stores…

My husband is running and I'm volunteering (I would be running, but they really needed volunteers) and I may try to sneak in a little bit of the run if they don't need me the whole time!

That's AWESOME! This is the kind of news I like to read!!

HCG Atkins South Beach Body by Vi Jenny Craig Slim Fast Just a few to start your list in case you weren't sure where to start. You should let us know when you're done with your paper - I'd be interested in reading it!

There's a special way to cook pinto beans? I always just let them soak over night (reduces the gas issue), drain the water, throw them in a crock pot with some ham and salt, and let them cook all day while I'm at work. I get home and dinner is done! :drinker:

You're close to me!

Thanks for sharing!

You thought about that second paragraph WAY too long! lol

Sorry - you'll have to forgive my arrogant American mind! I forget there are people on here from other countries! :blushing:
-
If you want - I can make a google spreadsheet for us to log our miles on each day...let me know what you think! I'm up for it!!
-
Not sure where Kirksville is, but I'm in Joplin!
-
I really did think about doing it - but I'll be doing half marathon training during that time and wasn't sure how it would affect that...you're not really supposed to run every single day when you're training for something like that, but it's only 1 mile...not like it would really take that long, anyway. If you put…

I saw that on their facebook page and considered it - but their regular RW challenge there's a charge to do it. Are you considering just doing it on your own with MFP people, or are you actually talking about signing up with RW to do this challenge? Do they charge to do the Holiday Challenge?
-
You guys don't do ANYTHING for Thanksgiving? Knowing his family, that really surprises me!
-
Oh yeah! Canada DID already have their Thanksgiving! I guess I could have limited this post to Americans, but that's not fair, so maybe I should have said "Holiday Dinners" instead of "Thanksgiving". Don't want to leave anyone out! :drinker:

lol...you'll burn all your calories a week ahead of time with all that moving! Congrats on the new place!!
-
So it's Thursday, which means it's time for me to post next week's mini-challenge. BUT...next week involves...DUN DUN DUUNNNN: Thanksgiving!!! The good thing about this is that there is AWESOME FOOD! The bad thing about this is that there is AWESOME FOOD! So what is the mini-challenge for this week, you ask? PLAN…

WHOOP WHOOP! Free glass of moscato for me!

Bleh - I saw something about this on facebook earlier today and just rolled my eyes. No wonder America is the fattest country in the world...

Start at week 1 and if that's too easy, move to week 2. If week 3 was really hard for you, start at week 1. Some people are fine to pick up right where they left off, just depends on your level of fitness when you quit.

Mmmm....

Since P90X is the same DVD's over and over again, if you've already done all of the DVD's, I would just use your historical calorie burn for that particular DVD. Granted, it's not going to be perfect, but it should be somewhat close.

I'm confused by this statement...I rarely run on the treadmill and use my footpod every time I run. Do you mean it's only necessary if you want the device to pair with a treadmill? I don't have the speed/cadence sensor, but my Garmin still pairs with the spin bikes at the gym, so I'm confused as to why a footpod is…
-
You don't need the footpod if your particular model is GPS enabled. Mine isn't, so I have to have the footpod if I want to know speed, cadence, mileage, etc... I have the FR60. All history can be deleted and settings can be changed for you, and Garmins are pretty user friendly. I LOVE my Garmin!

Have you tried teas? Tea comes in TONS of flavors and you can drink if hot or cold and it has enough caffeine in it to keep the withdrawal symptoms at bay and it doesn't have anything fake in it.
-
I personally believe that diet soda is worse for you than regular. First of all, it's all fake. There's NOTHING natural in it. Second of all, you feel like you're doing a good thing, thus you drink more of it, and you not only pollute your body with processed crap but you also dehydrate yourself from it. The artificial…

Even calories on nutrition labels are just an estimate, and the FDA only requires that they report the minimum calories, so you may even be eating more calories than you think you are, even if you're weighing and measuring everything - and people wonder why Americans are so obese... I think you're just going to have to…
-
It also depends on your activity level. If you're really active, I'd go for 1,400...if you're sedentary, keep it closer to 1,200. Try not to go below 1,200, though.

Quinoa flour? What's that? Just ground quinoa?? I have TONS of quinoa, but have never seen a flour version.

Ooo! Me!!
