How long have you been using it? It took me a good 2 weeks or so to get used to the spin bikes at my gym. I don't have padded shorts, but I do have a memory foam seat pad. If it's your own personal stationary bike and it has a regular bike seat on it, you might try getting a women's comfort saddle from your local bike…

^This. If it takes me more than 10 seconds to skim through the ingredients, it's not going in my cart!

I think some of you are missing the point a little bit - I took this as being more of a kick start rather than a permanent plan. If the plan fails for November, tweak it and come up with a new plan. At least you're setting goals and trying. I'm in for a no nonsense November. My plan isn't quite so strict, but it's MY plan.…

I use my heart rate monitor for everything, but even calories on food labels are just an estimate - the FDA only makes them put the minimum amount of calories on a nutrition label, so you may actually be eating more calories than you think...no wonder Americans are so fat! Anyway, I trust my HRM more simply because it…

Tomorrow is the last day of October, so if you want to post a final weight tomorrow morning, feel free to just override your weight from Friday since I don't have a column for the 31st. You guys did great this month - thanks for sticking it out with me. Hope to see you back for my November Turkey Trot challenge!! :)

Metamucil only works great if you drink enough water with it. If you don't drink enough water, since it's a bulk laxative, it will just stay in one big bulk and stop you up even worse. Even if I eat plenty of fiber and drink plenty of water, my system still doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me. I take a cascara…

Figure out what is causing your emotional reaction and deal with the problem, not the symptom.

 I'm sorry - the way you worded it as "biochemical warfare" was just hilarious. Does it possibly have more fiber than you're used to? Your body will adjust, just pay attention to how your digestion is going. If it stops you up, you might try drinking more water, or if that particular one makes things flow more than…

Clothes have been "sold". Thanks for shopping!

Combination of changing the way I ate, exercise, and lots of water. I religiously count calories and try to eat as much fresh/clean/unprocessed food as possible. If you visit my blog, the food list my trainer gave me is on there, as well as my workout program.

Well I tried to make the picture a little bit smaller, but it didn't work - oh well - you get the jist of what it looks like.

It's very comfy and kind of flares out at the bottom. It has barely been worn because I'm just not a dress/skirt person.

If you pronate, I highly recommend the Brooks Addiction! My knees hurt a lot before I got them, and within a few days of running in my new shoes that pain was completely gone. They're around $100, but worth every penny!!

In my personal opinion it's just another fad diet getting it's 15 minutes of fame. I've lost almost 70 lbs and haven't had to use a single meal replacement that costs a crap-ton of money. Most of these diets cause you to practically starve yourself and the weight you're losing is muscle, not fat.

The only thing I don't like about my Addiction's is that they're kind of plain/ugly. I told myself once I ran my first 10K (next month) that I was going to get new running shoes. Asics has a pair that I really like that would still have the support I need, so I'm hoping by then our running store has in all the new Brooks…

I LOVE my Brooks! I have the Addiction 9 and they're AWESOME! I pronate really bad so they have all the support I need to keep me from murdering my knees and hips!
-
Now - a good pair of running shoes won't really need to be broken in because they're specifically designed for running. Plus, you don't want to wait too long and then decide the shoes are terrible for you. It takes a good 300-500 miles before you need a new pair of running shoes, and I seriously doubt you're going to get…

^this is exactly what I was going to say - minus the track record! Jeff Galloway has some great training plans and cross training will improve your running like you'd never know! On my non-run days I do spin class and weight training.
-
You'll probably feel like crap for a day or so - the scale will go up a little because of water retention due to excess sodium, but drink plenty of water to flush the sodium, get back on track with your eating and working out, and in a few days the scale will be right back to where it was. One day isn't going to un-do all…

My husband and I are looking at doing a Turkey Trot relay the morning of Thanksgiving - monetary and food donations will be given to a local food pantry.

Whatever works for you is fine with me. Most of the exercises I do I know my mileage anyway, so if you're doing something in which you know the miles, don't worry about the chart. That's mainly for people who do aerobics, weight training, etc...that don't necessarily add up to miles. I do a lot of running and cycling, so…

No problem - we'd love to have you around either way!!

Welcome! I AM doing a 10K this month, and I plan to do my first half in March. Good luck to you!!

If you can't find your particular activity - just find the closest thing to it.

Are you really even hungry? I just got done eating a homemade grilled burger with fries and there are two more burger patties in there and I REALLY want to eat another because they were SOOOO good, but I'm not even hungry still. I've actually been sitting here having a mental conversation with myself trying to talk myself…

Tomorrow is weigh in day!! Everyone ready?!?! I don't have a column for Oct 31, just for tomorrow, so feel free to make tomorrow your final weigh in OR if you want to weigh in again on Monday, just put it in the 10-28 column. No more mini-challenges for October since Monday is the last day. Great job, everyone!!!

I will be posting a November 10 lb challenge, but it will probably not be posted until some time this weekend. I'll be sure to post a link to it here, though!
