  • I have an invisible mole on my finger. It was there when I was a child, then it disappeared. When I am pregnant it comes back. Once the baby is born it goes away again.
  • Hi, I'm not doing the Couch to 5K but I have started a very similar programme which I found on line. Today was my first official day, though I have been going for mini walk jogs for the last week or two but decided I needed a programme to follow to give me some sort of focus. I am doing it in the mornings when kids are at…
  • Love it! Don't think any amount of weight loss will get me on a roller coaster though. Still shudder remembering Dr Death's Doom Fall in Florida 10 years ago <shudders again> lol Like you though, I definitely feel better in myself with the weight lost so far but this is manifesting itself in an inability to stop buying…
  • Oh I dunno, maybe you should listen to him. He sounds exactly what woment want ;-) Like the other posters said, I think you have to get into the mindset that you are doing this for yourself, your health, your confidence etc and take your time with it. If you do it to please other people you will inevitably get disappointed.
  • Thanks Alex, some good tips there. I just read your profile and totally get what you say about not believing the weight is still there 3 years (4 years in my case) later! TBH I think it's more to do with the lifestyle of being at home and looking after kids, than the actual pregnancy weight, although we call it preggy…
  • Wow, that's very impressive! I need to give myself a kick up the bum lol the time is there for me to take, I just need to do it.
  • Thanks! It's definitely a mental block with me. I have done the whole gym thing before, but that was pre kids! It's just so tempting to spend any little spare time doing, er, nothing! New swimming cossie is on order and going to set myself a target to dust off the bike in the shed. I have got Wii Fit and dvds etc but I…
  • Defo not ready the swimming suit either. Then again, 40, 2 kids - I might still not fancy it after the weight is off. lol.
  • Hi I've lost 13 pounds but I don't feel hugely different. But there's a point at which I know it will start to show (been through this all before!) and I am about 4 pounds away from that point. Don't get me wrong, I feel better than I did, but I don't think anyone else would notice that much at the moment. The important…
  • Fantastic and very motivating. I am at the stage where my size 14 are hanging off my bum but a size 12 still cuts me in half. Gotta go up or down to get some decent fitting clothes. Imagine how you will feel after another 9 pounds!
  • Hi Yes, take a deep breath and do it. The only thing that really keeps me going is recording how much (if any) I have lost each week and you can't do that if you don't weigh. My hubby is the same, he needs to lose some too, more than me to be honest but he won't weigh either. I can tell that he's losing but it would be so…
  • I like the sound of 8 minute abs. I am similar to you, 40ish with 2 kids and the fat all clings to where those babies were, hence I look like there's another one in there lol. I've lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks and already feel better, but need to do the same again and then again once more. Thank God I've got started though,…
  • I do it first thing too. But I know it can fluctuate. It does motivate you though. If you aren't losing it makes you determined to try a bit harder and if you are it motivates you to keep going. I try and do it before my kids are awake though, I don't want them to see mummy weighing herself every day. They are boys so it's…
  • Hi, that's fantastic. I have just completed my first 4 weeks too and I have lost 8lbs Good for you doing it so soon after baby is born. My weight dropped right down after second baby and has creeped up steadily since (said baby is now nearly 4 lol) so it really is overdue for me to do something about it.
  • Aw it was just two days. It's happened now. Forget about it and carry on with your good work. It's only a problem if you do the same for the next 5 days. But you won't, it'll be fine.
  • Hi I'm only on fourth week so it's early days, but I am as close to saintly as I can be Monday to Friday morning when I weigh in. I am always shattered (and hungry) by Friday night so that is my time to have a treat. By treat though I just mean a bit of a bigger meal or even shock horror a takeaway. Then Saturday and…
  • lol the tyre is the only reason I'm doing this, everywhere else is reasonable(ish). If it all goes off the other bits and stays on the belly, I'll look even more preggy than I do now !!
  • Hi, why don't you allow yourself one naughty night per week. Mine is Friday, when I have exactly what I want for dinner (tonight it's fish n chips, hubby's getting them now). The rest of the weekend it's cooked meals (calorie counted) and then Monday to Friday I'm eating a well known brand of diet ready meal lol. I find it…
  • Oh damn. I'm the same age, height as you with a very similar weight goal. Don't tell me I'm still going to have the tyre when it's gone !!!
  • TBH I hate people commenting on my weight. I've been skinny and overweight and either way it makes me cringe when people say stuff about the way I look so I will just be happy if I get to my target weight and get rid of this stupid spare tyre round my middle that's getting in the way of my life! If peeps want to be nice…
  • I think it probably is a good idea. Before yesterday, I would have said no but I had a go at taking a profile shot of my belly (covered up thank you) and very difficult it was too to get the right angle to get the shot. But having succeeded, it confirmed what I suspected, that I look about 6 months' gone (and I'm not). I…
  • I hope so because I am trying to be really good in the week and allow myself a bit of slack at the weekend (esp Friday night, when I am tired and grumpy and want a nice meal). I think you really have to monitor it though and make sure that the good days definitely outweigh the bad.
  • Hi I think it's harder when you don't have loads to lose. I need to lose between 1.5 and 2 stone and in the back of my mind I'm always thing, I could lose that in a few months (but I never do). I find it helps to go clothes shopping and look at all the summer clothes and think what I would look like in them now and when I…
  • Hi, I find it really hard not to snack. I'm tending to eat my main meal at lunchtime now and allow calories for snacking too. I think it does't matter too much, as long as you are keeping within your calorie goal. It's good that you are aware of it, now you can find ways to work round it. Good luck!
  • Hi there, my youngest "baby" is nearly 4 years old and I still haven't lost the weight. In fact, it never really was pregnancy weight, more raiding the fridge while looking after small children weight. So it really is early days for yourself. The way I am tackling it is to be strict with myself during the week and to be a…
  • Hi, I had a c/s with my second (which was fine by me cos I am a big wimp about childbirth) but I know what you mean. I honestly think it's down to losing the weight. I think it's a handy area for the fat to collect. I always used to put weight on my face and backside but they're not an issue any more (small mercies lol) -…
