  • I realized today that I fit rather comfortably in a size 8 dress! :) Edit: I've gone from 162 lbs to 150, being 5'4.
  • Well, here's to picking up a good tip for the next time I get bound up. But otherwise it seems like a silly thing to do. :/
  • Are you weighing your food accurately? It may be a case that you are eating more than you think you are. I don't know your stats but that seems really low for the amount of exercise you're describing you do daily. Your workouts would probably be more efficient if you fueled your body properly. Also, how long have you been…

  • Oh not at all. Just update your weight with these instructions: Go to Home, Check In, Update Previous Entries. You'll see an option to input a different starting weight.
  • Just keep doing a reasonable amount of exercise. You can't spot reduce fat but strengthening muscle will improve the look of any part of the body, really. Just be patient. :) And forgive me if I'm misreading but he gave you a -warning-? Pffft. Rude. If my SO did any such thing I'd give him a 'warning' of my own, alright.
  • The only bad foods there are are the ones that have gone rancid. Definitely don't eat those.
  • I have the Zip, and I love it. It motivates me to find more ways to get moving during the day even when I can't formally exercise, and I have a growing group of folks I do challenges with so then there's my fun factor.
  • That's fantastic! Rock on! :D
  • Mmm. I'm not sure one way or another and I don't think it matters. Though, I can say I've heard the same thing. My Chinese Literature professor told us a few years ago that it's believed in Chinese culture that drinking hot beverages (like tea or plain hot water) is better for the digestion, and that mixing hot foods and…
  • Yeah, mine's been acting wonky too!
  • So if you know what you're going to hear, why are you fishing for a green light to behave recklessly? No one's going to tell you to pursue such an unhealthy goal here. Depending on your current weight, in two months you could shoot for 16 lbs (2 lbs a week) by then. Then after vacation, keep going. You can eventually lose…
  • Nah, I'll be sticking to the free MFP. Ads and such don't bother me, and nothing they are offering seems worth the price. Not that I would get it even if they did, because frankly my MMO subscription and Netflix are higher priority (lol) Now, if they start taking stuff away ("now you have to pay for ___!") or let the free…
  • Well, yeah of course. A gallon tub of Cheese Doodles will weigh less than a gallon tub of cottage cheese. Of course at equal volume cottage cheese will weigh more. There has to be more of it to take up volume. But a pound of Cheese Doodles will be larger in size than a pound of cottage cheese, even though they weigh the…
  • A pound of each will weigh the same--muscle just takes up less space, doesn't it?
  • Personally I have no issue with them, but I have heard some folk having negative reactions to artificial sweeteners, including my boyfriend. We stopped by a new froyo shop one night and when he sampled one of their flavors he realized by the taste that it had Splenda in it (our normal froyo shop labels what kind of sugar…
  • Is there a deadline you're trying to meet? Weight loss isn't linear, though it can seem to be at first when you start out and drop a lot of water weight. And there are so many factors that tie into the way our weight fluctuates from day to day--sodium intake, that time of the month, etc, etc. I didn't lose weight all of…
  • I'm going to put myself out there and tell you yes, I did try it a long while ago. It did not work and for its trouble, made me really constipated and generally annoyed at my gullible nature. But I moved on and forward and boom, 10 lbs gone as of today on just my merit. Read the stickies, follow CICO, spend that cash on…
  • With all due respect, says who? O.o It is a good carb and fiber and nowadays it can even be a good protein source if it's enriched. Properly portioned, it's wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad food unless it's rancid, really.
  • Height: 5'4, Medium frame Age: 27 SW: 162 CW: 152 My half goal: 145 My ultimate goal: 135
  • Assuming that 1200 isn't too low for your physical stats--yes, that probably wouldn't be healthy or sustainable. Simply put, you need to fuel your body properly or you won't have the energy to exercise. Your body burns energy just by keeping itself alive, so exercise only burns more. You should try to eat some of them…
  • From the little context was given in that first post, I just hope that unwanted fat isn't also needed fat. ^^; The word underweight means something pretty specific.
  • From strictly an anecdotal standpoint, I definitely did feel pretty tired when I started losing, though pushing through it by exercising anyway worked pretty well. I feel on top of the world after a good dose of cardio. It did go away quickly enough as I exercised consistently and maintained a reasonable deficit and now…
  • Since I've had my FitBit the app will ask me when I started the exercise I'm logging, in addition to how long. But... I am not sure it matters when you eat beyond personal preference.
  • It is my weekly night out with my gamer club friends, so likely a duck breast BLT on wheat and a glass of wine. :)
  • That was my first thought! :-p
  • The damage is only as bad as you make of it. You logged it--good job! Coming in at 160 from 153, I'm sure you understand that most of it is probably immediate water weight. That meals you described seems like they have a pretty high sodium level as well. Just get back on track with your plan and resolve to stick with it. A…
  • As far as 'speeding up weight loss', I think it's bunk. But, hot water and lemon makes for a nice brew in the morning regardless. :)
