Here is what has been working for me: I have started doing a 5k most days on the treadmill. I can't run it --- I'm not fit enough for that. So I spend over an hour on the treadmill. I've never done that before. It has completely killed my sugar cravings. I literally do not crave sugar. It's insane. My husband can bring…

I read once that part of the reason so many people make poor choices, in regards to their health, is that they see their future self as a different person. They think that different person will be stronger and able to overcome/fix the health issues. When I read that it made me sad to think that I wasn't doing anything to…

I don't personally know what it feels like to be In your shoes but I have 2 relatives (one of them is a guy) who have been able to move past bulimia. They did it with exercise. Before I continue ---- I'm not a professional counselor. And these two people who are no longer bulimic really could have used help from a…

Bosch mixer -- I make my own wheat bread and eat it in moderation. I don't have need for a Kitchenaid because the Bosch does what I need better. Slow cooker -- I cook steel cut oats overnight so my breakfast is hot and ready in the morning. Breville milk frother -- okay, my husband has an obsession for hot chocolate. This…

My husband is crazy skinny but he is super supportive of my weight loss. If I make a dinner with grilled chicken, beans, corn, rice, and veggies he will just eat twice the rice and beans and he snacks more. On nights when he eats something that I don't have enough calories for I will eat leftovers that are healthy. I make…

I'm so sorry! Yes, I saw the news. My husband is an avid runner and has been loving it for a few decades. When he is stressed he goes for a long run. Exercise releases the right chemicals in your brain to help you feel better. We recently bought a treadmill (so I can work myself up to running and he can run on bad winter…

I blend up one frozen banana (slightly over-ripened) 1/4 cup milk, and an entire tablespoon of cocoa powder. It is sooooooo so so yummy (a whole tablespoon of cocoa might be too much for you but it kicks my chocolate craving in the butt). Deserts and stuff are fine in moderation. Just make sure you're not also hungry.…

I hear you. People used to accuse me of being too skinny. I never worked for it in the past, it just came naturally. A lot of people in my family were quite the opposite with their weight. After gaining weight with each of four pregnancies (and drinking way too much soda) I still feel a little bit of judgment (I think it…

From my research the recommended way to can pumpkin is in chunks -- not mashed like you get in the can at the store. I canned pie pumpkins a couple of years ago and we enjoys every single jar. Better than canned pumpkin from the store! Your recipe looks delish!

Yes! This! I make wheat bread and my family loves it!! The stuff at the store really is too dry for my taste. I also add a little bit of mayo on one side and plenty of juicy tomato slices on the other (never Roma tomatoes, all of the other varieties are awesome)

I used to be insanely skinny. My mom was worried I would have fertility issues, my dad thought I had a secret eating disorder, my MIL made comments .... and then concern or judgment from other people. You know who wasn't concerned? My midwife. (Turned out I'm very fertile. I should have figured considering my cycle was…

I blend up a frozen banana, little bit of milk, and some cocoa. Sooooooo yummy!

Steel cut oats for breakfast. I put mine in the slow cooker before going to bed. Cook on low for six hours (my slow cooker goes to the warm setting after the six hours are done). Mix in a little bit of sweetener and any fruit you want. It is really filling.

I eat bread. I regularly make wheat bread for my family. I don't think we have to cut out the foods we love to lose weight and become healthier -- we just have to have them in moderation. (Unless you can't control yourself? I cut out soda because it is too tempting. If I had as hard of a time with bread as I do soda, and…

I know you said don't say steel cut oats .... But hear me out. I put my steel cut oats in the slow cooker overnight. When I wake my breakfast is practically ready -- all I have to do is mix in whatever I want. I put 3/4 cup steel cut oats in the slow cooker Add just over 3 cups water Cook on low for six hours I split it…

Fit it in gradually, sounds like that is what you're trying. I make sure I guzzle a glass before breakfast and then another after breakfast. Eventually I started doing it before my other meals. I get most of my water in the morning. I don't know about the others, but I like to get most of it out of my system before bed so…

Mine are set to 1200 and that is what I'm doing. When I exercise I do eat them back. I started out at 142 lbs and I also have my goal set to 120 ... so for height and weight we are pretty similar. I lost 4 pounds before I started MFP (by completely dropping soda and controlling my sweets) and I lost 4 1/2 pounds since…

And I wanted to add that even though I also think that we should all just choke it down, regardless of if we like it or not. When it comes to food I'm trying to find recipes and portions that make it feel like I'm not on a temporary 'diet'. If I have to choke something down I'm not likely to keep doing it for the rest of…

I can vouch for the original poster. This is not a fake post. I just invited her to this site the other day :) And she works during the day and doesn't have a lot of time to spend online in forums. She'll probably check in this evening.

My problem I'm noticing right now is if I have something sweet I crave even more sweets. Water helps stave off those cravings, a diet soda would increase them. I didn't like the water at first but now I love it. I love how it makes me feel. I had a hard time getting up to 8 cups at first, but now it is 9 in the morning and…

And even if your husky wouldn't do anything, having a dog at your side might make someone think twice before making a move. I don't know about where to find the pepper spray, but I'm interested as well.

I'm two weeks late (also not pregnant) and this is the first time in my life I've watched what I ate and exercised. As much as it would be nice to not have it, and even though I'm done having kids, I hope I don't go months before it comes back. I was happy to be regular before, it made me feel somewhat healthy.

This is what I've been doing: Breakfast: 2/3 cup oatmeal, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon butter, a small handful of craisins -- almost 300 calories Lunch: 1 1/2 flatbread, pizza sauce, mozeralla cheese, Hormel mini peperoni, tomatoes, green peppers -- 382 calories Somewhere in the forum here people talked about…

Try Quinoa (pronounced keen-wa). Quinoa can be prepared like rice but they also sell it as pasta. My mom is diabetic and can't have pasta ... but after she discovered quinoa she had spaghetti for Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast!!! (lol, it had been an entire year since she had any pasta). It costs a little more but it is also…
