  • i lost my first 30 pounds in about 7 months. I started with MFP and walking in March 2011. That was the first 19 pounds. In May 2011, I started walking. That was the next 16 pounds. I lost the last 11 pounds after I added in circuit training on my non-run days.
  • I eat a snack around 10-10:30 and drink a lot of water.
  • I "just ran" for a year, but now i have my first 10K in october, so i did print out a "program." I do better if someone is telling me what to do. :) Once I do the 10K, though, and am confident in going longer distances, I will just run again.
  • i usually don't eat anything. if i wake up hungry, i will have half a serving of almonds. otherwise, i just go.
  • that's what i used to do every day. now, i work from home three days per week, so sometimes i push it off until my lunch hour. but i prefer to get it done in the morning. i get up an hour earlier than i need to in order to work out.
  • i drink water. sometimes, i have a werther's original caramel, because they take a long time to dissolve. that satisfies a sweet tooth, too! or i have a cup of coffee or tea.
  • i usually do steamed broccoli.
  • if i'm working out first thing in the morning, i generally do not eat. if i wake up hungry, i have a half serving of raw almonds. but usually, i work out on an empty stomach. if i am working out during my lunch break, i eat a snack around 10:30 (greek yogurt with granola and berries; almonds and fruit; clif bar), and then…
  • i used cool running too. i did use an app, but i was running outside.
  • i joined mfp in march 2011. at that time, i was just walking and logging food. i lost 19 pounds that way. i started running in may 2011. i lost another 16 pounds from may to december. i lost the final 11 pounds after i added in some cross training (dvds at home - strength and cardio) in january of this year. eta: i also…
  • i just signed up for a 10K at the end of october.
  • mine didn't take any time at all to get used to. i loved them immediately, from my first trial with them at the running store. i wear brooks adrenaline.
  • my family eats what i cook. we all eat the same things for the most part (i have two young children - they get some modifications, but mostly eat what we eat). if i make pizza, i just eat a smaller portion. if we have stir fry, i measure out my rice. for me, i would have had trouble sticking with a diet if my family was…
  • it might be ok. only way to tell is to drink it.
  • i just had some hot tamales. lol but for lunch, i had a lightlife farmer's market veggie burger, steamed peas, string cheese and veggie straws. snack is an apple. dinner will be homemade chicken noodle soup (daughter's request) and homemade drop biscuits.
  • i have this marinating right now. i will be broiling it instead of grilling because we get home from work too late to pull out the grill. http://www.grocerybudget101.com/content.php/333-Hawaiian-Grilled-Chicken-Pineapple I am serving it with fresh pineapple on the side, steamed broccoli and rice.
  • i eat chocolate when i crave chocolate. i get a piece of dark chocolate, because i prefer it, and just limit the amount.
  • dog walkers who don't keep their dogs close. on a run a couple months ago, i saw one runner get completely tangled by two dogs' leashes (one owner), another runner who ended up jumping over a dog to avoid collision, and during that same run, i was tripped by yet another dog (owner was on her phone, not paying attention).…
  • I work full-time, and i have two children under the age of 5. I get up early and run before my husband leaves for work, or I do an exercise DVD at home.
  • Yes, I do. I was always a pretty healthy eater, I just struggled with portion control. Now that i am at my goal weight, I am just trying to get a little more toned. But yes, sometimes we are out and about and we get fast food (sometimes i get a salad, sometimes i get a chicken sandwich). We eat pizza on Friday nights, and…

  • I have two children under four, and they eat what my husband and I eat. I just watch my portion sizes. So on Tuesday, for example, I made beef stir fry. My plate had extra veggies and half a serving of rice. My husband eats more than I do. My daughters eat less. But we all eat the same thing.
  • I usually aim for 3-4 times per week.
  • I was getting up at 4:20 every day to work out. I now work from home three days a week, so I still get up at 4:20 on the office days, but I sleep in until 5:15 on the work from home days. Every once in a while, I work out at lunch instead of in the morning, depending on what I have going on.
  • I run because it's the only time no one can bother me, and I can actually think. I will celebrate National Running Day by running. And drinking a beer. Not at the same time ...
  • I started C25K last May. I was a size 14. I actually found it easier on my knees once I completed the interval weeks. The starting and stopping did a number on them. So I made sure to ice them every morning while I ate breakfast (I work out before work), and then again before bedtime. Aleve as needed. And I take…
  • I think it's a great program. I started running again last May using C25K, and I ran my first 5K in November. I am still running, and I'm up to 3.9 miles. I would like to go further, but I don't think my knees can take it.
  • When I started C25K, I only did C25K. As for calories consumed, I entered the calories for the walking bits, and the calories for the running bits (I just totaled them up), and then ate back half my exercise calories. I started C25K in May 2011, and did my first 5K in November. I added in workout DVDs for strength training…
  • i have a toddler and a 4-year-old. the older child is usually up by 6:30, so I get up early to work out. This morning, I was up around 5:30, worked out and was done before she was up. We were out the door around 8:30. On days I have to go into the office, I wake up at 4:20, and we are out the door ideally at 7:20, but…
  • i bring a lot of food with me. i have a long commute, so if i don't have enough snacks, i tend to hit up the news stand and get something not so healthy. here is an example of what i bring: morning snack: almonds & fruit (usually berries) lunch: pb or cheese on kirkland sandwich thin; veggie straws; baby carrots; small…
