Great progress...keep up the great work!

I'm not sure these things make it "fun", but they definitely make it more enjoyable...music, having time to myself, and the feeling I get afterward when look back over a month or so and see how I've improved...run faster, lift more, etc.

1/2 cup quinoa + 1 cup water, simmer for 15 minutes, let stand for 5 minutes, fluff with fork, eat...makes 2 servings. I like it plain, or make a pilaf by adding it to a sauté of a bit of olive oil, minced garlic, diced red pepper and diced mango...yum!

Way to go, and what a great attitude! congratulations my friend, and best of luck as you continue your journey.

you should open your diary to others if you want input...hard to see what's going on without that access

I'd say I attribute my weight loss 50/50 to being mindful of what I put in my mouth and being more active. I've been pretty committed to working out about 1.5 hours per day (mostly cardio & stretching/ab work) at least 4x per week for the last several months, plus evening walks with my hubby & dogs...most of my cardio is…

Great progress, and great mindset...keep up the great work!

what a milestone...congratulations! once you've done a couple of 5Ks you'll be addicted...there's something really motivating about having a goal that isn't scale-based. Keep up the great work!
-
yep, feels good, doesn't it:smile: I've done three 5Ks since end of July, and hubby and I are doing one on Saturday. I'm thrilled each time I better my previous time, and I enjoy having a goal that isn't based on a number on the scale. Good luck as you continue your journey.

5'5" SW 196 (up to around 210 before I discovered MFP) CW 153 GW 146 I agree with the folks who have said that their GW is not a hard and fast number...as I get closer to it I feel like I could stay at my current weight as long as I continue to tone things up and work on NSV goals like reducing my 5K time, etc. I've been…

a pound away from an elephant’s heart, and 7 pounds shy of my ultimate goal of a small bale of hay:smile:
-
This^^...I find that it keeps me mindful, and I'm less likely to slack off on working out or eat over my calories/macros.

wonderful progress! Keep up the great work:smile:

Congratulations! Keep up the great work:smile:

Great progress! Just imagine what the next 5 months will bring:smile: Keep up the great work!

I feel you on this...have the same issue...didn't used to have it, even when I was down in the 130s in my twenties, but losing this weight in my 40s has been different...made my booty disappear rather than my boobs...weird. Have been doing the stairmaster pretty regularly and it seems to be helping.
-
I cranked the treadmill up to 6.5mph and ran that for about 10 minutes...felt I could go for longer, but had limited time and needed to do the stairmaster and weights/abs. also cleaned most of the L and XL clothes out of my closet last weekend and moved in the M & S clothes that I binged on:)

Congratulations! I totally understand where you're coming from regarding your man's acceptance making you more accepting of yourself, and at the same time wanting to improve yourself. I've been married 15 years, with ups and downs of weight throughout, and my husband always says he finds me attractive and sexy no matter…

great NSV! May you have many more happy days of six-flagging in your future:smile:
-
great success...congratulations!

Good for you...great accomplishment! I got back into jogging after 7 years off, and after about 5 months I was able to run a 5K. Continue the great work, and good luck:smile:
-
Ran a 5K yesterday...my third since July...and had a personal best time of 29:31...first time finishing in less than 1/2 an hour:smile:

Congratulations! You have a great attitude toward your journey...keep up the amazing work!

I am 5'5" and started back in mid-January with wanting to lose 50 pounds. I'm within 10 pounds of that goal and proof that even in your 40s you can do it if you stick with it. Don't be discouraged if you plateau (which I warn you may happen right before your TOM) or don't count calories for a weekend and gain a couple of…

I hope to be going in to maintenance in the next couple of months and found your notes above very encouraging and helpful. I too have lost weight in the past and put it back on over time, and believe it really is a long-term mindset change that will make me successful in maintenance.

I have a food scale, but not a digital one...I don't think you need to be THAT specific on weights of foods to be successful. A good pair of walking shoes and a fitbit...the fitbit is a great way to keep track of how much you're actually moving in a day, and the walking shoes are obvious, right:)? The most essential thing…

^^this^^ After a long day at work I'm sometimes tempted not to go to the gym or walk my dogs...I tell myself to go and at least do a bit of treadmill, or at least walk the dogs 1 mile...most times I do a complete workout and do the usual 2 mile neighborhood circuit with the dogs, and end up feeling MUCH better than when I…
