my husband and I do work with a trainer once a week, and I've found it very beneficial because she works up a routine and explains to us what muscles we're working and will give us other circuits to do on days we don't meet with her. she also watches our form...HOW we're doing the exercises...and corrects us, which can…

I've had my fitbit flex for a year and I think it's pretty accurate...if anything, I think it undercounts my mileage. I think it's more accurate than trusting the calorie burn on cardio machines at the gym too. you have to keep in mind that it's based on arm movement, so exercising that doesn't involve the arms won't get…

Great job! We're the same height, and I started out about 15 pounds heavier than you, but we've lost about the same amount. I've been yo-yoing around the same 5-10 pounds for the last few months, and need to get kick-started into losing another 15-20 pounds. I'm thrilled at where I am, and am not gaining significant weight…

Great attitude = great success! I didn't realize that part of tuff mudder was to carry a partner...my hubby and I just carried each other around the house to see if we could do it:) Not easy, but doable. We've actually been invited to join a team this year, and we may give it a try.

very inspirational everyone:) I've lost 40 pounds so far and have 10-15 left to go. Hubby and I have been working with a trainer who is kicking our butts once a week, so everything should be tightening up...I've always struggled with my abdominal area, so seeing your success gives me hope!

I trust fitbit more than the calorie burn counters on any gym equipment, so I stopped logging my workouts about 6 months ago and go strictly off of what fitbit says I burn. If anything, I think it may be a bit understated, and I'm ok with that.

January 1st: 156.5 January 8th: 155.5 1 pound loss is perfect; been getting back into the regular workout groove and logging my nutrition in MFP so that I stay mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth. Happy to say that I've been drinking plenty of water:)

- Run 15-20 5Ks (just signed up for #1 on 1/1/15) - Run 1000 miles (sounds like a lot, but averages less than 3 miles per day) - Minimize my intake of processed carbs...holiday sweets did me in :) - Better hydration - Spend time with people I like, and not with people that I feel I "have" to - HAVE FUN!!!

I'm in! Had great luck in 2014 with a couple of challenges that helped keep me on track. I'm currently about 12 pounds from my initial goal, and ready to rock it! This challenge will finish just as we head to Mexico for vacation :)

This time last year I was about 40 pounds heavier. The holidays have bounced me up about 8 pounds from my lowest weight this past year, but I'm not stressing. Just signed up for the first 5K of 2015...planning for it to be just the first of 15-20 timed races that I'll do:)

made me smile to read this...I had the same thing happen a while ago, and we match up on just about everything but the number of kids...I only have one:) When I hit my wedding weight, I actually put my wedding dress on...it fit...not the same as it did 15 years ago, but it did fit:)

i hear ya:) My go-to snack when I have the munchies these days is either oatmeal with fruit or a multi-grain english muffin with peanut butter...so different than the "old" days:) I still like to have sweets sometimes, but I find I'm not craving them like I used to, and I'm better at portion control. And, if I do…

Ran a 5K on Sunday in less than 29 minutes, and my size 8s & Mediums are starting to get loose. I also realized yesterday at the gym that I'm no longer sliding down when I do the roman chair...finally getting some arm and core muscles!

It's amazing what a great support system can do to help establish new, healthy habits...wonderful job to both of you! I am also lucky to have a supportive spouse...so supportive in fact that he's lost weight when not really needing to, and now he needs to GAIN about 10 pounds:)

congratulations on your wonderful progress! I'm confident that you can reach your goal!

Great work...congratulations!

Congrats! I'm almost at my goal weight, but I can't blame my added weight on pregnancy...that was thirteen years ago :) I was chubby in high school as well and have been on the weight roller coaster for years. Told myself that as I hit my late 40s it will only get harder to lose weight, so I need to do it now so that I can…

I started running (after about 5 years of not) about 6 months ago....began on the treadmill and progressed to outside after a few months. I started at below 4mph for about 20 minutes and slowly increased both my mph and time gradually. I can now run a 5K at about a 9.5 min mile pace and usually run on the treadmill at…

My go-to is a berry smoothie with banana, ground flaxseed, spinach, plain greek yogurt, half a scoop of protein powder and some water. I drink it on my way to work and it keeps me full for a couple of hours...yum!
