-45 degrees Celsius??? Where were you?

Thanks :) I still find it really hard to see a difference some days. Good luck to us all!

Thanks guys :) A long way to go still!

Don't want to say exactly for online privacy but inbetween Glasgow and Edinburgh :)

Not exactly Glasgow, but hi!

Thank you so much to every person here, I'm currently working my way through all the link. You ladies rock!

Sorry for bumping my old thread, but.... I'm now in the area! I went to the YouFit in South Tampa today and it didn't have the equipment I needed. Does anyone have a suggestion for a gym that will let you join month-to-month, and has squat racks (unassisted), barbells, freeweights etc?

Thanks guys. When I have eaten even close to what I used to, I know what you mean, my stomach is just full to bursting. Just didn't get grades I wanted after working my *kitten* off since February, and feeling stressed, first exam tomorrow, but holding strong. Thanks for all the support :)

Let me reword that then... Normally, I would comfort eat when upset, and eat and eat and eat. I'm not going to allow myself to do this anymore. I'm going to have my normal meals today, and have treats inside my calorie allowance. But I'm stopping the emotional eating now. Or trying to!

You look incredible :) My starting weight was 307lb so I can only hope to look like you one day :flowerforyou:

Yeah, I do the exact weighing and cook. If OH wants steak and chips for example, I'll make him that, and I'll have the smaller of the two steaks, boiled potatoes instead (or smaller chips!) and fill the rest of my plate with veggies: broccoli, asparagus, pepper, cucumber, sweetcorn, runner beans, etc.

You look sensational, and strong! Very envious and inspired. Can I ask a question? I read your previous posts about eating near to maintenance when you are lifting, but what if you have a lot of weight to lose? I'm on 1600 just now, my goal weight is literally half of my starting weight, so I have a long way to go! Would…

Thanks, that's really useful :)

This is so inspirational. I'm working on strength, grip strength, flexibility etc and doing machines and bodyweight until I have the basics ready for freeweights. I'm so excited and apprehensive at the same time. You all look amazing :)

Wow, thanks for all the responses and FR! Problem is that the company I'm doing the internship with organises our accommodation, so I don't know exactly where I'm staying. I'll be working near the North-East, near 4th St N according to Google Maps. We've been told we will be located within a short drive of the offices :)

Ah okay, thank you. They make it really hard though, I've gone through the website and cannot find prices anywhere!

Thank you very much guys. Sorry for the silly question - but what IS the YMCA? In the UK it's hostels... I've looked at their website but it's very confusing, is it just a normal gym?

Shameless bump.

I've only recently (as in on Sunday) started exercising. Before then I was doing nothing - we are talking barely walking. In the past 6 weeks I have lost 13.4lb through diet alone. I've added in exercise because I want to be fitter too. You can definitely do it with no exercise :)

My last update got lost in the mess, so will just update again: First day in gym today. Did cardio for an hour. Feel tired, but good tired. The world didn't blow up, people didn't laugh at the fatso etc, was all good :) Plan is to gym Tue, Fri, Sun, Zumba on Wed. Have to email away for a personal trainer type class, just…

Just wanted to let you know that I've read every single post on here, and thank you for being such wonderful people. I live in Scotland so I don't think I have this Y gym you all mentioned, but I can get a very cheap membership with my university. That makes it slightly harder because most of the people at my university…

Wow. That is amazing. This is really inspirational to me, my starting weight was 307lb and I'm currently at 299.2, aiming for around 140, so the exact same stats as you. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I know it's not about tips and fast fixes but any advice you can give me I would much appreciate! Well done again :)

Thank you for the quick reply. That calculator comes out at just over 1900, so higher than MFP's suggestion of 1740. Once I actually start waking up in time for breakfast I'll be adding on an extra 200-400 calories, so I guess I won't have to add on that much more to meet goals. Don't worry, definitely not mean or critical…
