  • I'm an hour glass, but still a work in progress, 13lbs down, 8 to go (see profile pic). Just stick to the calorie goal, try not to go over, but if you do, shake it off and move on. Hit your protein goals (about 0.8g per lb you weigh, or 1lb per lb of LEAN MASS, if you know it). And pick some exercise that you like and do…
  • This keeps happening to me. I've lost 2" off my waist and 2" off my hips and lost 0lbs. Its super annoying when I step on the scale, but super awesome all the time I'm not standing on the scale since I look great :)

  • My merell trail gloves were trashed in 8 months :(
  • Nothing seems to be working :( :( :(
  • Can I just say HOLY COW 67lbs!? SIXTY SEVEN POUNDS. That is all. You know you can do it, you know how awesome you look/feel compared to 22 months ago. Go back to what was working and giv' 'er!!
  • This is a thing people refer to as IIFYM or if it fits your macros. You can eat whatever you want to and stay under your calorie goal (and macros) and in theory, you'll lose weight*. * If you don't get enough protein, some of that weight is muscles * If you get too much salt you'll hold on to water and not see the scale…
  • 'cause if you like it than you shoulda put a ring on it ;-) I'm not married, no kids :) And you should check out: http://myfriendsaremarried.tumblr.com/
  • I caved and just started eating my lunch at 10am :P This morning I packed the following for my lunch, not knowing I would be hungry 2 hours later: 1 serving of bran buds (I like munching on them while working) --- Eaten at 9:58 41g blackberries --- Munching on these now (at 11:24) 2 hardboiled eggs --- to be eaten with…
  • So I do just need to eat more often. Do you get less hungry in the evenings?
  • Do you sew? I tailor all of my jeans. Take them in at the waist and often in at the ankles because my calves are too big for standard skinny jeans. I helped a friend by adding a seam from get knee to her butt pocket to take in the extra leg baggage. You could likely pay someone to do it for under $20.
  • I fluctuate up to 5lbs OVERNIGHT. I never seem to hit more than 138 and I haven't yet dropped below 133. But in my mind, it looks like I fluctuate way more. My stomach gets puffy looking and I feel like I have fat rolls hanging over my jeans one day and the next I'll have a flat stomach. Its weird. I've been dropping…
  • Per unit volume muscle weighs more than fat. Also, you could look at it as one pound of muscle takes up less space than 1 lb of fat. You look great :)
  • I've never had flabby arms, just toothpick arms that never fit the rest of my body. I picked up heavy things and put them back down and that toned my arms so nicely that I have a line when I go to flex!! So you should try lifting heavy!!
  • My non scale victory was giving a cookie to a friend. I ordered a coffee and a cookie. But the top cookie was broken, so they decided to give me an extra, non broken one. So rather than eating both, I gave one to my lab mate and ate one myself. And I'm within my macros for the day :D
  • I own more regular clothes because my mom likes to buy them for me. But I prefer to buy work out clothes, they tend to cost more (per item) and I spend more time wearing them.
  • When you put it on facebook. Nothing's official unless you put it on facebook.
  • I can relate. When I started grad school I kept eating the same (and a lot of snacks) but stopped being as active. I got a car and stopped biking everywhere. I went up about 20-25lbs and now I'm having to remember to not eat when I'm bored and I stopped buying cookies. If you need some support, feel free to add me.
  • Oh my god how awesome!! Yeah, I just got new trail shoes and I raced up (and down) that hill. So much fun!!!! There is a five peaks series in southern Ontario that I'm thinking of doing. All trail races! My goal is to do a 10K trail race by the end of the summer!
  • Thanks guys! It was hard but worth it!
  • For me, step 2 is just to make A change not ALL the changes. Do you notice you snack a lot at night? You could cut that. Do you drink a lot of pop? You could swap that for water. Do you eat a lot of cookies? (this is my problem) cut back to one every other day. If you're overwhelmed with doing ALL THE THINGS then just do…
  • When I get my period, I get leg weakness. They feel all bambi legs. I know one other person who is like this :)
  • Yeah. My whole big toe turns into a blister and so does the ball of my foot right under my toe, even with socks :(
  • What is an increased heart rate, my resting HR is around 64 and when walking around campus I'm around 94. Is that not enough of an increase?
  • Thanks guys :) I'm wearing one today to estimate how much I burn on my walks around campus all day and I was wondering if it translated. Will it affect anything if I wear it all day on exercise mode and only count the calorie estimates when I'm walking around?
  • Where do you get it? I've heard of it!
  • I'm actually switching from barefoot shoes back to sneakers. Barefoot shoes are great and I wear my 5 fingers to crossfit... but they give me giant blisters when running outdoors and they don't do really well on trail runs (for me) there is a lot of sharp rocks and glass where I am and I don't feel like barefoot shoes…
  • For me, I have to breathe in a specific pattern. If I do one breath in for two steps and one breath out for two steps it helps me a LOT.
  • Thanks! I wish you had a super top secret PT treatment for my soreness. But I will try to wear them to school and what not once I'm less sore. Thanks!
  • Okay, thats what I was thinking but just wanted to check. What did you do about it? Just hobble around for a few days?
  • Lol. Well, I guess you S&M could be a type of fitness/exercise. I was thinking more of Beethoven's 5th symphony when writing the title.
