  • Watch this video, he can tell you better than I can. http://scoobysworkshop.com/gain-muscle-lose-fat/
  • I use TDEE-20% in a wonky way. I like to eat more on days that I exercise, so I calculated my TDEE for SEDENTARY even though I work out 4-7times per week, then I did Sedentary TDEE -20% and I eat back 50-75% of exercise calories. My protein is set at 1g per lb of lean body mass which is about 100g (30%), my carbs are set…
  • I can't seem to see your photos, but judging from being friends with you and seeing your positive attitude and real-time weight loss results, I'm sure you look amazing :) Edit: I see them now! Your abs look awesome!! So much definition in 3 months!
  • My boyfriend does this to me sometimes about cookies, but I know he doesn't mean "ruin" my diet he means, are you sure you're just going to eat ONE cookie and not ALL the cookies. It probably comes from a place of love, but he just isn't good at expressing it. Also, WTG with cutting pepsi, soda is addicting!
  • I found looking at other people in the same height/weight range as me really helped. Like I look at my legs and they look SO FAT and I only have negative things to say. But I see someone who wears the same size as me, and is the same weight as me and they look awesome! So that has been helping. Its like, well, if I were as…
  • Thanks :) Im glad your last 10lbs are going well, I hope mine will as well (I hit 9lbs to go this morning). I'm not struggling, I was just wondering now that I'm sub 10 lbs to go WHY people keep saying that its harder and the answers I've gotten fit into both categories of "its harder to get a deficit" and "something…
  • Oh, I'm still losing weight at a steady pace, I'm just curious about what people are talking about on here.
  • Can you explain it at the not basic level? This is the question I was trying to ask in my post, but clearly did a piss poor job of it. :)
  • THIS! Is what I want explained!!
  • My question is *WHY* are those last 5kg MORE stubborn than any OTHER 5kg
  • Props for thinking evolutionarily :) One of the hats I wear is as an evolutionary biologist, so I can totally dig what you're saying. Though not quite what I'm asking. Thanks though, its always awesome to hear other people thinking in terms of what are bodies are "programmed" to do :)
  • This is more along the lines of what I'm wanting.
  • I know this much, I've been doing the TDEE method, I just keep hearing people say "its harder to lose weight when you get closer to your goal" So it is the later. Sometimes people on this site make it sound like if you're small and burn 3500 calories, you wont lose fat for who knows why. Good to know I'm just not…
  • Whoever those people are, don't listen to them. You usually lose weight quickly in the first week (generally a lot of water) and then you can lose anywhere between 0.5-2lbs/week in a healthy way. All you gotta say when people say 6lbs isn't enough is "haters gonna hate" and move on :)
  • Girls don't bulk... like Arnold Schwarzenegger. But girls do gain muscle! I was listening to the fit cast (great podcast) and they pointed out that some people think that Jessica Alba is bulky. If you think she is bulky then you can "bulk" if you think she looks fit, that is what lifting heavy eating right etc etc does. So…
  • I'm pretty sure she means that per unit volume, muscle weighs more than fat. ie one cubic foot of muscle weights more than one cubic foot of fat.
  • Do you find that if they fit in your butt/waist the long pants old navy jeans are baggy in your knees?
  • Its genetics for me. Squatting heavy has only made my butt look more shapely rather than making it bigger.
  • I've been drooling over making shorts like this: http://piccsy.com/2012/05/picc-f91qeu8f/ I will totally add a panel of funky fabric in the side!!
  • I've had luck with target, but one of my friends just informed me that they got rid of their "curvy" SO SAD! If you find some, let me know, I've got a lot of (muscular) junk in my trunk.
  • You have a rockin body! I'm trying to get rid of butt dimples too, they are reducing, but still there. I also love that you call them butt dimples, I was calling them my 2nd butt. Your name is far more positive!
  • I'm a pear, I just want my thighs to get a touch smaller.
  • Oh my god. I love you! First you help me with my blister problems now I find out you're a geek! (friend added). You could do a mini pie? or use less sugar in your filling? My boyfriend's mom basically just throws fresh raspberries in a pie crust and calls it raspberry pie, and boy is it yummy!! As for healthier pie crust,…
  • Wow that sounds like a really yummy lunch! What is your recipe for the garbanzo beans?
  • Way to go on PRs!! Your muscles are probably getting really good at what you're having them do, so maybe throw in something new? For me, I like to throw in something I find fun, so today in the blizzard (ugh) I went cross country skiing. And now i cant walk! hahah. But if you're PRing, you're getting stronger!
  • Also, mine was $15. How much do they cost where you live?
  • He said taking a hot bath can help increase blood flow and can help relax the muscles. Which is consistent with medical literature. Cold is for acute injury, heat is for sore muscles. So far, its helping.
  • I found awesome tupperware with a little cup that snaps into the lid, so I pack my salad: usually as much spinach as I can force into the tupperware, carrots (I love to shred them), cucumber, onion, sometimes olives or cheese, and basically anything we have in the fridge, I put my serving of salad dressing in the awesome…
  • Just FYI, I went to massage the other day and the massage therapist said that if it hurts toooo much then you can actually be causing inflammation and you need to wait until things settle down then foam roll. Not sure how badly it hurts you when you foam roll, but I was nearly crying when trying to foam roll out my quads…
