Um, I am. I weigh myself every day because I like data. So 5 out of 7 days, I weigh 137.x lbs and 2 out of 7 days I weigh either 138.x or 139.x, usually those days are after a big work out where I can feel that my muscles are sore and repairing themselves, so I don't worry. But over the course of 4 weeks, the scale has…

I'm 5'6" my goal is to be a better climber and part of that goal is to increase my power to weight ratio. I would like to drop weight (and keep the same, or increase power a little-- I've got a coach helping me with this part) but I've put on some weight in grad school, so I'd like to lose that and get back to about…

But I have to replace it with muscle to get my weight to not go down and I thought you can't build muscle on a deficit. This is my confusion.
-
What does QFT mean?
-
If I'm eating at a deficit and therefore not able to build muscle, I'm not sure how my % body fat can go down without losing weight. Also, my measurements haven't changed in the last two weeks. This is my biggest confusion. Because I would think that yes, my %body fat is changing, because I'm noticing a physical difference…

I lift a lot and it hasn't been helping. Well, I guess it hasn't been hurting, but it isn't pushing me over the plateau.
-
That's what I thought. I'm just wondering what this is. If I were a women's magazine, I would call it "toning". However, I know that's a BS term

I'm aiming for 104g of protein and getting close most days. (I'm pescatarian, so I'm having a hard time getting over 100g-- I'm pescatarian due to allergies, so not helpful to suggest eating meat) My goal weight is 125. I'm eating (on normal fitness days) 1390-1650 cal

I love it!! there are basically paint squares for pee. LOL

As someone who has had hyponatremia, it IS possible and not that hard. And its extremely serious. and it doesn't take gallons! I did it with 5L (1.3gallons) in 2.5 hours on a hiking trio. And its not about your blood being diluted, its about your electrolyte balance being messed up. If you don't have enough sodium, you…

Nice work!! What I do is I promise myself if I stay under calories today I can have whatever it is I want tomorrow, and plan it into my day. That way, I'm teaching myself to wait for it and not have immediate gratification, but I'm still allowing myself some delicious treats! Self control is super important, just as…

My boyfriend has basically gone vegetarian since we started dating (I'm intolerant to meat-- I puke if I eat it) and has been 100% supportive of me eating healthy and he makes healthy dinner with me every night (even on the nights he cooks). And, because I'll eat it if its there, he leaves his cookies/crackers in the car…

Good luck on your journey! You said you like salad dressings/ dips. I do too! I found that making it from scratch helped to reign in my calories. Also, bolthouse farms (organic) has some low calorie yogurt dressings that are great! They're low cal but not weirdly added with things. The blue cheese that I'm currently…

My thoughts are, if you put water in something then drink it, its the same as eating the thing than drinking the water, its all going to the same place and getting mixed. I would count tea but not coffee (coffee is a mild diuretic) I would count the amount of water you added to the juice, but not the full cup of…

I know the feeling. Some days you are rocking really hard but you still don't feel good. Try just doing one really nice thing for yourself, sometimes that can turn your whole outlook around. Take a long bath? Do your nails/get a manicure? Do something sweet with your daughter? Just try to feel love for yourself, even if…

I think it just means you should recalculate your TDEE. The website I used said to recalculate every 5lbs. Have you done that? still use 20% but you could try slowing it down...

If it helps, I started crossfit and one month later I broke my ankle (rock climbing) the crossfit coaches told me as soon as I could walk, I could come back. They literally re did every single workout for me for 6 months until I was fully functional on my bad ankle. If I can do it with a broken ankle, you can do it at…

Naked and Odwalla juice is good... But EACH SMALL container of them has your total daily sugar in it. Which, I know I know, no food is bad, but when you have 4X your daily serving of ANYTHING, each day, its not good. I would say drink 1 juice and have a nice big salad for lunch, you can even put fruit in your salad if you…

Lifting helps! Also, I'm big in to rock climbing, about a month of going to the climbing gym 3 nights a week got rid of most of mine!!

I live in Hamilton, ON. Not western Canada (though west of Toronto, so might as well be, lol). I'd love some Canadian friends.

you should try a blind study, where someone cooks for you using food that looks like it has meat in it and food that has meat in it, and you don't know, and just see.

I'm vegetarian/pescatarian, but I am vegan more than 60% of the time, just by food preference. I love edible perspectives (oh she glows is good but not great, in my opinion) and I like to adapt smitten kitchen stuff as well.

Try a smoothie? I'm always running late for school so my recipe is: 1 cup coffee 2 scoops vanilla protein powder 1-1.5 tbsp almond butter 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup soy milk or almond milk (or regular milk) 4 ice cubes I add 1/3 tsp maple syrup when I use unsweetened almond milk. Blend for a minute and BAM! You have…

hmm. I would say stick at it, don't give up, and maybe try to change one big thing. Shake it up and cut processed sugar, or add a new sport sometimes doing something different is what your body needs, even if your change is only just to get over the plateau.
-
I think you have to stop with the "a calorie is a calorie" and start feeding your body exactly what it needs. Healthy whole foods, with lots of exercise. Try hitting your macro goals as well as your calorie goals, this has been working for me (also its a slow slog)
-
That sucks :-( Change your starting weight?
-
This describes me exactly, but im stuck at 137. Started at 146, 5'6". I have to remind myself that 9 pounds over 6 weeks is good! Also, if you're working out, are you sore? I gain ALWAYS when I'm sore!! So give yourself a rest day and see if you don't notice a drop. Sometimes water gain in your muscles can mask fat loss.…

I'm a broke phd student. 25, soon to be 26 :-(

I've had the most blah week this week. Last weekend I got hypothetmia, and my body was wrecked Monday and Tuesday. (I couldn't feel my toes for half of Monday) and then I had a presentation in school on Friday in a seminar. I spent all week working on it and didn't exercise at all. I was in need of a rest day or two…
